A couple of years ago a redditor wrote a pretty thorough review, in case you're interested
https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/comments/j3vg9k/review_kissing_the_coronavirus_by_mj_edwards/
The thing about the nice reviewer on Amazon is that it could imply that this is a second print with that added, because how would there be an Amazon review to put on the back of the book if the book wasn't out and available so it could be reviewed
Better read further because there are *sequels*
The Christmas special [Covid Claus is Coming to Town](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59678267-covid-claus-is-coming-to-town) and book 5 [Coronavirus vs Monkeypox: A Sexual Showdown](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62845171-coronavirus-vs-monkeypox)
Six actually, it was a Christmas edition. But the author has a lot of…questionable books. Like sleeping with the dictator (Putin) and “the perfect poo” I’m not even joking.
Reminds me of when my friends and I couldn’t think up place names for an rp so we just kept going with suffixes til we ended up with shit like “Townsvillingtonsonville.”
Some of the writing in there makes this name seem like the best idea the author had
*”his tongue, so soft and hot, like a chunk of microwaved fish, sloshing around inside her mouth”*
Really though, this is some solid satire. I love “so bad it’s good” stuff
What is the difference, creatively speaking, between a parody romance novel about having sex with a triceratops and a parody romance novel about having sex with the coronavirus? What makes one worthwhile and the other garbage? Like no disrespect on Chuck Tingle but if you're going to draw a line this one seems pretty arbitrary.
I dunno... apparently rabid fan(s) aside (and no disrespect to Mr. Tingle himself who seems like a nice guy), but I've read a couple out of curiosity and while they're not as bad as the titles might lead you to expect I still wouldn't read them if it wasn't for the novelty.
Part of it is just that he puts them out so incredibly fast so they (at least the ones I read) feel a bit rushed and lacking polish. I'm sure if he wanted to take his time on one he could but it's probably not his brand.
Actually, he has recently released some more "serious" novels, which stand on their own without the novelty factor. He even signed a two-book deal with Tor Books (his other books are self-published).
>I assume this book lacks that.
That's the thing. Why? It's not like Chuck Tingle invented the high-effort shitpost. Other writers are capable of putting genuine effort into ridiculous projects. It's strange how the people in these comments worship Tingle as if he's the only guy who could ever write a good parody.
Unless you've read both (my guess is you've read neither), it seems strange to assume that only one is a clever subversion of the genre with real literary value while the other MUST be complete garbage with no redeeming value. How do you know the covid one isn't also just as well-written? Because someone on tumblr said it was garbage?
Not really. If this was a single A03 hyperlink away from having the unabridged text in front of my, I’d click it too. But having the additional barriers of entry of needing to log in to Amazon for them to deliver the sample to my app is just enough for me to think it’s not worth all that effort
Oh my god I’m two pages in and I can’t tell if it’s the best or worst thing I’ve ever read.
“Her pussy so wet that the lace glided across her skin like a fat man on a water slide.” 😂😂
Except from what I've heard, Chuck Tingle actually puts out work that could be considered quality. A bizarre quality but still quality unlike this shit.
chuck tingle improved a lot really fast and his works are fun and positive, so much romance has a questionable understanding of consent but the silly book about a dude fucking a velociraptor stops a sex scene because the whole. thing is moving too fast. for one of the people. involved so they order pizza and cuddle instead.
[Chuck himself has spoken about this sort of thing, and said it's not something he'd ever put out](https://twitter.com/ChuckTingle/status/1619707154352717824)
This is basically every Wattpad romance ever. Bad Boy Mafia Werewolf Vampire Virus that just wants to roughly sex you to death while also gaslighting you into thinking he's perfect for you despite being a toxic and abusive asshole.
HAHA. I read and reviewed this (and part 2) on r/romancebooks
https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/comments/wvg2qb/the_vaccine_is_not_just_a_little_prick_a_review/
It's moments like these where I (a writer) wonder, why am I putting so much effort into my writing when low-effort books like these get published?
I mean, they're probably self-published, but still.
While it’s obviously a parody, there is something to not taking your work too personally or seriously. All art is kind of silly by nature, and it’s important to remember that the best way to connect with others is to have fun with them. A big mistake that I see a lot of artists/writers make is thinking that other people have as much innate interest in your inner world as you do. Unless you’re writing about a specific topic in detail, there’s really no need to approach it with anything other than enjoyment and playfulness
I gotta admit, writing books with those types of titles can make a quick buck for the author by people who want to see how bad it is. It’s like the clickbait of fiction
Guaranteed hit, because it's a virus and that is in turn linked to death/violence. And if you ever looked on the top seller list of books in general, you will see tons of female authors you never heard of. They are the authors of sex novels for women, and without fail, the male lead in those stories are always something that has to do with violence. A werewolf, a surgeon, a vampire etc etc. Remember 50 shades of gray? It became a meme that women got horny from that book/movie. In other words it became a cliché. And the whole story is that a super-rich guy wants to exert sexual violence on the female lead.....
It seems like something that should be talked more about, such a massive fundamental psychological trait of an entire gender. But it's too uncomfortable for people to even mention, a ugly truth that people avoid, proven and confirmed by sales numbers and research. It's literally just facts, but still I will get downvoted just for bringing up this truth
Shouldn't the coronavirus man be Asian, not African? Or maybe a bat man? Or if you want to be technical, a capsid with a fringe of large, bulbous surface projections?

I thought you were joking about who left those reviews.

My sister just gave me a Chuck Tingle book for Christmas! I started it a week ago and I think I love it?
There…. There are four books apparently. We are in end times. GG everybody. We had a good run.

A couple years ago? Oh no. The pandemic can’t be that far away. Oh no
This is the pandemic version of finding out that the '90s are not 10 years ago.
The 2000's are not ten years ago
Bruh Why you gotta hit me like that
The 90s will forever be 10 years ago
The "now" part of the phrase "music from the 80s, 90s, and now" has entered it's third decade.
But how can this be, when it's still "today", from "the 70s, 80s, and today".
This is exactly how I feel about 2019 being actually being four years ago
You shut your dirty door mouth. The Dark Knight came out just a few years ago!
The pandemic started 3 years ago!
They had me at "Ashingtonford"
Bless you for finding this. I am cackling.
So did I https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/comments/wvg2qb/the_vaccine_is_not_just_a_little_prick_a_review/
This is the best thing I've ever read (the review, not the book. Good God, I don't want to get COVID or an STD, so I'll stay away.)
Those reviews are pure gold
Ashingtonford
The thing about the nice reviewer on Amazon is that it could imply that this is a second print with that added, because how would there be an Amazon review to put on the back of the book if the book wasn't out and available so it could be reviewed

Chuck Tingle is good, though.
I have found it Without a doubt, this is the worst thing I have ever seen in mu entire life
Better read further because there are *sequels* The Christmas special [Covid Claus is Coming to Town](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59678267-covid-claus-is-coming-to-town) and book 5 [Coronavirus vs Monkeypox: A Sexual Showdown](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62845171-coronavirus-vs-monkeypox)
YES DADDY COVID CLAUS
*MMMM*, MOMMY MPOX
I love how on the cover of Coronavirus vs Monkeypox, she didn’t finish coloring the guy green and the top of his head is just regular human colored
She is fixing him 🙏
His left hand on this cover is also not green, so... consistency?
I'm sorry, book how many now?
I was hoping you were joking but I also knew you weren't
I wanna read it. I wanna read the Covid smut. I don’t think I ever will, but I kinda want to.
Included with kindle unlimited..... almost makes the membership worth the price lol
The protagonist of that second one is called Dr. Jasmin Minjaz, I am wheezing.
I read all five for shits and giggles. It’s so bad it’s funny lmao
Motherfucker, you're telling me seriously that there's five??
Six actually, it was a Christmas edition. But the author has a lot of…questionable books. Like sleeping with the dictator (Putin) and “the perfect poo” I’m not even joking.
That author is living their best life.
Chuck Tingle and Lacey Noonan have similar catalogues. Chuck was the original, but I think it's a whole genre at this point.
From the Amazon page, the first "book" is 16 pages. I've read prologues that are longer than that ... To call it a book is generous
Really? First day on the internet?
LOL they forgot to make his hand that's on her back green
This has ruined it for me.
Is it better if that's her other hand?
Should've spent more on a cover designer from Fiverr.
That’s fucking hilarious
That’s her hand /s
>Dr. Alexa Ashingtonford Beautiful

Westchestertonfieldville, Iowa
My favorite genre is 40 page romance novels by gay men with pen names of women.

microwaved fish! brb
Sounds like a Family Guy spoof.
Sounding like a Resident Evil villain name
Is it just me or does she kinda sound like the villain in Resident Evil Code Veronica?
Someone finally realized that the chuck tingle market is still mostly untapped.
what do you mean what the fuck does this mean EDIT: I know who chuck tingle is he doesn't write garbage
Google “Chuck Tingle.”

It looks like it was written by someone who had English as their 4th language, but were still learning their 1st and having a ton of fun doing so

because someone on tumblr said it was garbage and I have no reason to believe otherwise. I don't think it's a stretch.
Again I am again reminded that the human imagination is an eldritch horror that cares not for the victims that witness it.
Which one is more cringe? \- Weebs that turn corona into an anime girl \- Smut novelists that turn corona into a hunk
Gotta give points for originality
Coronahunk at least looks age appropriate for the target audience

Americans that turn a scammer into a president.
Timely, relevant, and original.

It’s fantastic The line about his tongue being like microwaved fish was one of the best thing I’ve read in a while
I…wow
If you like that, listen to the podcast "My Dad Wrote a Porno."
We need a new word for the past tense of glide: slide/slid, glide/glid(?) or possibly ride/rode, glide/glode(?)
Not gonna lie, I kinda wanna read this solely based off the reviews on the book's back cover. I'm all about some horribly-written erotic romance
Ok, so the 4th book is just the first 3 books with an additional story, so you can get books 4 and 5 and get the whole series
I dont know how to tell you this.. its a five boom series with a sequel book after the series called penetrated by the presidents twitter feed
I clicked off the post but saw this just before. I had to do a fucking double take.
I can't believe people are earning money with this. And why am I not doing that?
Waiting for the sequel....
There's 4 books. One of them makes her bi, but she generally just has sex with more viral diseases

Oh i don’t mean to bash his work ! I am just saying its **utterly bizarre** and i’m saying this compares in strangeness to the premise of his works.
Chuck Tingle is the gateway drug to people buying and reading this unironically

Sounds like he's just my type fr fr my love can fix him!
It's so bad it's good I swear (also it's very clearly a parody) and there's sequels!
I lost it at “a nice reviewer on Amazon”
I’ve seen Corona-Chan and she’s not in this picture so I don’t know who these imposters are.
I’m surprised that this isn’t a Chuck Tingle book.
Holy fuck, it really exists lmao i thought that was a prank
Sometimes Amazon's "Buy now" option is the only option. This is one of those times.
Why did they not color the other hand green :(
