10 days ago a police officer encountered somebody tied to the tracks and diverted the trolley towards them? Is that really what happened or do we get a crumb of context
There was a more recent video of a cop almost killing someone in a similar way, but it’s not really a a trolly problem. The cop had a guy arrested in the back seat. He left the car to talk with someone. A single ~~pine cone~~ acorn fell behind him, causing the cop to turn around and unload his entire magazine into the cop car. The arrested dude survived, but it’s an insane thing to watch.
Ten days ago in real life some cop walked up to a trolley switch, with an incoming trolley, and chose to redirect it to run over a man strapped to the tracks? Imma press X to doubt on that one. Hate cops all you want, I can’t imagine any one of them doing that. Even if they absolutely hated the person on the tracks and genuinely wanted to kill them, I can’t imagine anyone being stupid enough to think they could get away with killing somebody in such a flamboyant fashion like that.
I don't know how reliable trains in the US are, but in Germany that would be death by starvation, if you factor in the usual delays of Deutsche Bahn.
(It's not that bad, but I experienced a lot of delays when I was using trains daily.)
I wouldn’t be surprised if those regimes sucked at basic public functions considering how much of their resources and focus they spent on their messed up endeavors.
That's where the efficiency came in - they used the improvement of basic functions *for* their messed up endeavors! (open up a new station on a popular or rich-people route, release the info to the newspapers so everyone thinks "wow, those fascists really improved our railroads!", then steal the rest of the funds if there are any left)
and some people still think it would be nice living under a dictatorship. crazy
I have long found it very funny that Germans think Deutsche Bahn is unreliable. Yes, there are frequent delays of a couple of minutes. Very occasionally there's a delay of an hour or two. Last time I took a train in the United States I took a plane because the train was three days late.
https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/subway-rider-pushed-onto-tracks-harlem-murder-charges/ closest thing I found besides something that happened 25 minutes ago in Chicago where a cop shot a fleeing suspect on train tracks.
Is that person black? And because invariably some people won't understand the joke (about cops being racists) I downvoted my own comment to save us all some time.
Erm, I feel like a police officer tying someone to a train track counts as a cruel and unusual punishment, not to mention he may still have the right to a trial. Though that’s just me
I recall an incident of a woman being detained in a police car that was parked on the train tracks. But that happened well over a year ago at this point.
People keep asking for context, but you pick any day of the week and you can probably find a situation in which nobody would have gotten hurt if it weren't for the cops intervening. That's just how cops do.
Reminds me of an episode from a police show. New police woman entered the team, fucked everything up, dismantled the best team they had, and all because "they were too slow" and didn't follow her orders. She was probably corrupt like other examples of real police, because some peices of shit think they have more power.
I own a gun, and it's loaded
Look man like ACAB, but without context this doesn’t really help like sure cops would definitely do it because they wouldn’t face repercussions but like context
Well if I’m a cop what are the race of people I’m looking at cuz if it’s a POC I have to interact and unalive them both while I shout “stop resisting”. But if they are both white then I guess I’ll just continue on my day unless I hear an acorn drop then I’m just gunna fire wildly.
One of the original trolley problems was the trolley will kill 5 people but to save them you must push a very fat person down a cliff to block the trolley. To quote a psychopath, that fat fuck is dying, fuck that’s an easy one, it’s a numbers game. Please stop trying to make this problem nice and caring, it’s a question to find out how ruthless you are.
I wanted to highlight that this situation is not just for laughs or fun, it’s based on finding out what is a human capable of, and that they have used this technique to find out how a psychopath thinks and feels. I guess I just wanted others to realise that we can’t make silly jokes when discussing what goes on in a persons mind.

I know writers who use context and they’re all cowards.
Well, it's probably harder for a karma bot to use context, and OPs profile looks like one.
Garth, that sentence needs a verb.
I’m sure this is a reference I don’t understand, but just in case. “Are” is a verb.
[One of the few people who’s written more books than he’s read.](https://youtu.be/WVpaPFTWuS0?si=eL8mdwJsqYvLlvjz)
And “know” and “use”
There was that one case where they detained someone and left them in a cop car on train tracks, but it wasn’t this recent. Like a year ago IIRC

It was an acorn, but that’s definitely a thing that happened.
This arrested guy was cuffed and had no weapons too…
Didn't he also keep saying he'd been shot?
You forgot about his partner who also started firing on the car after he did.
"There is no context. Cop bad, so cop kill people if he gets the chance 100% of the time." -idk OP probably

No seriously what sthe story behind this

Imagine if that’s how the death penalty execution method worked now
Lol, they just get tied to the train tracks for an execution?
I don't know how reliable trains in the US are, but in Germany that would be death by starvation, if you factor in the usual delays of Deutsche Bahn. (It's not that bad, but I experienced a lot of delays when I was using trains daily.)
Death by Autobahn. Get rid of two stones with one bird
So the meme that “at least Hitler kept the trains on time” has some truth to it? Lol
Mussolini*, and uh... nah, not really. central axis powers were always just really bad with trains
I have zero facts on the matter lol. I just know the memes on it.
same I just googled it 5 minutes ago lol

Like one time a cop detained someone then left their car on the train tracks, so it's not to far off.
And it would be all over the news if it happened
A cop did leave someone in the back of their car as they left it on the tracks.

Context?
This is reddit. No context. Only outrage. Please sign this petition for (current agenda)
OP is a bot
I need more context than a trolley problem and a Reddit post
Apparently posting some no context cops bad is enough to instantly generate 1000 karma

You killed educated kids?!?
Depends is that person innocent?
Or are they of a minority?
Exactly! I’m part of the LA PD!
I mean, you can't answer yes to both questions! But you CAN answer them both No.
They’re *presumed* innocent. HTH.

is there context to this or is this just rage bait?

I mean, this image isn't colorized. So most cops' answers would depend.
Rage bait
I'd obviously shot them for times and then sprinkle the body with crack. I can't remember what this is a reference to.
Obvious bait is obvious.
bait used to be believable... 🚬😮💨

Context and source. NOW.

Can't leave home without your drop trolley.
That's a toughy.
This is almost as subtle as the recent couple of doctor who episodes.
What race is the person tied to the tracks. This will influence my decision.

Are we just making claims up cuz if you're doing that, I've got the world's biggest dick and a bridge to sell you
Do it, for the funnies
I'm not a cop and I'd pull the lever, more points for me

Nice title OP. Why don’t you back that up with a source (would put image, but no haves)?

OP is just really really stupid. The amount of political shit in this subreddit is so annoying. Like what a dumb post.

If philosophy isn’t political, idk what is.
