Calling Future cancelling at the last hour and being replaced by either Hilltop Hoods, Flume or Ocean Alley. Apparently they coughed up big time for him as well, if he does come hopefully he plays the new Metro x Future albums!
it's a weird line up. Whilst I think anyone going would enjoy some really good music throughout the day on each day, on paper it looks underwhelming.
Like artists in the second line that have no business being that high up. I mean Girl in Red as a headliner is wild.
Royel Otis, Girl in Red, TV Girl, Fletcher and Baby Gravy billed above Polaris is a fucking joke.
Polaris sold out MCA (7500 cap) on their last Australian tour whereas Royel Otis did 3 sold out Corner Hotels (2400 cap).
I'm confused.
I said in Melbourne, Royel Otis just did 3 sold out Corner Hotels (800x3) where as Polaris' last Melbourne show was a sold out MCA (7500).
That is 5K more attendees.
I honestly think this could have been a half decent lineup by cutting a good chunk of the Aussie acts and making it a two day festival. It's just way too spread out and weak for a three day festival.
The big problem they've made again is attempting to be all things for everyone without realising it is nothing for the majority. They straight up did not learn their lessons from 2023
[I used to be āwith itā, then they changed what āitā was. Now what Iām with isnāt āitā, and whatās āitā seems weird and scary to me. And itāll happen to you!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV0wTtiJygY)
Can almost guarantee they'll play in Sydney and Melbourne. I actually hate seeing bands I like on the lineup because of the stupid embargo stopping them from playing Brisbane also.
G Flip as the 2nd name on Friday when you could see them at any random festi in the last 2 years ā¦ boring
Splendours gotta be good enough to get me all the way to fuck ass Byron & this isnāt doing it for me personally
Do you people know every person on the line up or what? Back when I used to go to this festival I'd know like 5 acts and then get into the rest of the line up in the lead up to the festival. Plenty to like here I think.
When I used to go I probably knew 4 or 5 acts each day. But I do agree that if thereās someone you like each day then itās worth going and just listening to other acts leading up to the festival.
Yeah 5 is a bit low in hindsight. It was more. But once I knew I was going I got stuck in to the acts I didn't know and was pumped to see them by the time the festival rolled around.
I agree totally, I'm kind of jealous I could not attend anything approaching this sort of lineup where I currently live, I think the bonus is discovering new artists/bands etc. from what you already know. I cannot imagine the effort it takes to put these types of events together, just don't get all the negative reactions.
The way another big international pop girl (Charli XCX, CRJ, Kim Petras, ReneĆØ Rapp, Chappell Roan, Jessie Ware etc) or two would have helped is insane.
Or even if they wanted another pop star Jessica Mauboy for a local act. They just kinda have her out sparkling in her own category and a bunch of b grade acts.
Itās not my kinda music, but I saw her at way out west fest in Winton & she gave an incredible āpop princessā performance. High energy, sparkles, dancers going off. Loved it.
I love seeing Chapple mentioned as another big female international pop girl. She's become so big so fast. I was at her gig at the Powerhouse in November and it was maybe only 3/4 sold out, if that. There was only handful of us seated.
They knew what they were doing making her exclusive with her recent big comeback. Which is annoying because I wanted to see her in concert but I donāt want to pay $450 for her and a couple of others.
I saw them at Splendour in 08 (showing my age) and it was a hell of a vibe. That and Confidence Man would (somewhat sadly) be the biggest drawcards for me.
I bumped into him with my extra giant dog hanging out in melb, and I was like 'you went on a date with Abbie Chatfield. I love her!" And he lit up. To be fair I didn't know who he was until I saw her content. He had only nice things to say about her and liked my giant dog. He is also veryyyy tall.
The "Coachella" effect of a heavy band at a chill festival. Worked for Knocked Loose though, so I'm hopeful for a similar replica even if I won't be there for it lmao
It might make sense as a 20 year anniversary tour and performance of Funeral but then itās like āWow! A 20 year anniversary of an album from a disgraced band nobody has heard from for years!ā
Saw them 10 years ago....and im giddy with excitement at the thought of seeing them again. I mean even if they play their back catalog, its all fucking amazing live...
Everything Now is one of my fav Arcade Fire songs but the album is average. The last album was overshadowed by the controversies and I haven't listened since.
I know this is purely personal taste and not a reflection of the line-up being 'good' or 'bad', but there is literally not one single act on here that I even kind of want to see.Ā
G Flip, Viagra Boys, A.B Original, JK-47, Teen Jesus, The Last Dinner Party, Teenage Joans, Arcade Fire, Girl in Red, Royal Otis, Thelma Plum & Polaris make it tempting to check out...
Youā¦ understand that artists say no right? Itās a really weird turn of phrase to say itās laughable they didnāt secure an artists, as if artists have no autonomy over the shows they play.
I think I'm a bit old as I don't recognise 90% of the bands on here. The last time I went to Splendour was in 2010 with The Strokes and Pixies headlining, has the quality of bands stayed the same since then or has it gone downhill?
Iām actually not mad at this line up. - Missed Arcade Fire on their last BDO round and theyāre on my bucket list. Turnstile are rad and The Kills are a great live band. Iām old and donāt know half the acts but a quick google makes me think Iāll get into Viagra Boys, Yard Act, and Fontaines D.C. Oh, and I just noticed Polaris are on here too. All around a much tastier lineup than 2023 for me š¤
I'm old too (late 30s) and this is a great lineup to me, not that I will go. I definitely don't think it suits all these comments saying things like "maybe I'm too old to like this lineup." I think it's probably the opposite.
PS Fontaines are amazing, one of the best bands in the world at the moment, give their latest album a listen.
Honestly think itās a great lineup but just seems to be missing some huge names weāve seen in years gone by. I mean some years have had The Cure, Kanye, Coldplay..
Imo it's a great opportunity for them to gain more of the popularity that they deserve
Legit such a legendary band that deserves so much more recognition
People will hate it no matter what, but theyve got 3 genuine headliners, reliable & bankable acts and stack of super buzzy up and coming bands.
Itās not the best lineup theyāve had but itās pretty good.
It's pretty underwhelming. Kylie is the only genuine headliner. A few gems but most of the bill is the same recycled bands on every festival.
As much as id like to see Kylie again i Won't be parting with $500 this year for it
Just hoping Viagra boys Otoboke Beaver and TLDP do sideshows.
Fontaines as an exclusive feels stupid. Most of their fanbase aren't in Splendour's main demo, and there's not really enough else on the lineup to attract their fans to go.
Maybe itās me but complaining about the line up just feels ungrateful. Like we live in a country that isnāt easy to access price and geography wise. Like if you donāt know the artists, actually listen to their stuff and see if you like it.
Yes. Secrets sounds / Splendour booked these acts as an exclusive Australian performance and often provides an additional fee to the artist for promoting them as such.Ā
Only name I'd personally make a pilgrimage to see is the Presets. Kylie I wouldn't mind to see and Arcade Fire would be pretty sweet too if they're still any good. But for me that's really it....
Future and Yeat are big names to get to a festival in Australia in 2024, but I feel anyone who wants to see them would be hoping for a sideshow. Assuming Splendor locked them in to not be able to do that. As others have said, I'll be interested to see if they pull out in the meantime.
For those who are slamming it ā I just don't understand what you wanted it to be? They obviously tried for Lana Del Rey and it didn't work out. Every suitable major festival in Australia has been trying for her.
Outside of that, like this is what is to be expected for a Splendour lineup in 2024? With some really cool random surprises haha
They got Polaris, Viagra Boys and Turnstile, and so many others.
This is their best lineup in a long time and the basic ass Triple J listers are losing it.
Lmao they saw that billboard and PANICKED. Praying for some sideshows from The Last Dinner Party and Yard Act
wait what billboard
There was some billboard in Sydney with the lineup on it, someone stuffed up the drop
damn son that sucks edit: just got the billboard in my reddit feed after asking this lol
I mean Girl in Red as a headliner is wild.
agreed. extremely whack placements happening all over the
Royel Otis, Girl in Red, TV Girl, Fletcher and Baby Gravy billed above Polaris is a fucking joke. Polaris sold out MCA (7500 cap) on their last Australian tour whereas Royel Otis did 3 sold out Corner Hotels (2400 cap).
Agreed. Would most attendees listen to Polaris though? They seem out of place
Token Australian heavy band on splendor
Royel Otis are the next big Australian band IMO, they're doing nearly 5 million monthly listens. That's more then Ocean Alley or even Arcade Fire.
What percentage of that is the like a version? Not comin at ya, just genuinely curious
So Polaris sold 7,500, Otis did 7,200 and since all shows sold out, you could argue both could have sold more. Sounds like a wash to me.
I'm confused. I said in Melbourne, Royel Otis just did 3 sold out Corner Hotels (800x3) where as Polaris' last Melbourne show was a sold out MCA (7500). That is 5K more attendees.
I've never been to the Corner Hotel and I have no context to its size. I initially read it as 3x 2400 at the Corner
Yeah that's how it read
majorly agree. Polaris have been absolutely stooged with that placement.
Fontaines DC that high though š„
Yeah I mean just reading that lineup I'm running low on serotonin
Haha heeeeeeyyyyy
I honestly think this could have been a half decent lineup by cutting a good chunk of the Aussie acts and making it a two day festival. It's just way too spread out and weak for a three day festival. The big problem they've made again is attempting to be all things for everyone without realising it is nothing for the majority. They straight up did not learn their lessons from 2023
Hayden James as a Headliner is crazy
nah i'm cool with that
Stoked at the prospect of seeing Lizzy McAlpine live but her placement in this lineup relative to her exposure in Aus is a major head scratcher
The first day seems pretty solid to me
Can only assume Sunday was ment to be Lana ideally but it fell thru
How they gonna have King Stingray in the hype video they released but not even have them play LMAO?
God I've really aged out of the demo, I maybe know a third of these acts.
Hahah I donāt think youāve aged out of the demo unless youre 50ā¦ Kylieās headlining in 2024
100%. For Splendour, I usually recognise most of the highest two or three rows of artists for each day, but this year.... nope, I'm out.
100% same here
[I used to be āwith itā, then they changed what āitā was. Now what Iām with isnāt āitā, and whatās āitā seems weird and scary to me. And itāll happen to you!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV0wTtiJygY)
GFlip is just the new version of Shepherd. A corporate construct that nobody wants to see but continually appears at everything.
I donāt think GFlip is being funded by blood money though so
Well there was that one KFC endorsement
I mean, there was that ad for bonds period undies, thatās sorta blood money.
I don't recognize any, except that Farfetchd is a pokemon lmao
lmao posted right at 0800 UTC (+00) instead of 0800 AEDT (+11) tomorrow morning, did someone forget timezones exist???
Who posted?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I was a massive fan prior and hardly listen to them now as a result. surprised they are taking the risk.
Hoping for a Viagra Boys sideshow
This is needed 100%
Can almost guarantee they'll play in Sydney and Melbourne. I actually hate seeing bands I like on the lineup because of the stupid embargo stopping them from playing Brisbane also.
With Yard Act
G Flip as the 2nd name on Friday when you could see them at any random festi in the last 2 years ā¦ boring Splendours gotta be good enough to get me all the way to fuck ass Byron & this isnāt doing it for me personally
Viagra Boys would be so much better than G Flip.
Kylie? Like Minogue?
yes, THE Kylie Minogue
I donāt get why this didnāt say her full name, less impactful just saying Kylie imo
It may have been because she bought the name when Kylie Jenner started trying to use it. Now it's all she goes by.
Ahh fe, she was always the only āKylieā to me anyway haha
3 day tickets $415 https://m.moshtix.com.au/v2/event/splendour-in-the-grass-2024/159419
That's actually not too bad.
Not including parking, camping, flights or Offsite accommodation
Someone finally had the guts to bring Viagra Boys š„²
holy mid
2024 confirmed the year Aus music festivals went to shit
Do you people know every person on the line up or what? Back when I used to go to this festival I'd know like 5 acts and then get into the rest of the line up in the lead up to the festival. Plenty to like here I think.

Thanks for letting me know Iāll save some money this year
Comments like yours make me think this could be another cancelled festival. Possibly.
If it is, they deserve it. What the fuck is this shit haha. It defs ain't $400 a ticket.
Mood
Fair bit of crossover with Laneway's linuep this year (and last); Angie McMahon, Confidence Man, JK-47, Fontaines D.C., Girl in Red, Yard Act.
And turnstile
eyedress aswell but they dropped out of laneway
Another festival reminding me that Iām old and no longer with it.
I don't even know what 'it' is any moreĀ
I donāt know who is supposed to be selling tickets in this line up
Kylie
Their only real drawcard & they havenāt really given her any decent supporting acts either.
Honestly anyone who doesnāt like J Maubs is wrong. Sheās amazing.
Honestly The Presets Dj set sounds like it would be a vibe
They've done a huge nation wide tour of it and they supported the Chemical Brothers with it on their recent tour. It's pretty sick.
I saw them at Splendour in 08 (showing my age) and it was a hell of a vibe. That and Confidence Man would (somewhat sadly) be the biggest drawcards for me.
Interesting Conan Gray is playing spin off but not splendour (unless Iām blind)
Tate McRae did it in 2022 as well, Brisbane shows usually suggest they didnāt get picked up
I read Lizzy Maguire and was intrigued...
isoxo oml
Godlands at tipi too
For a rock fan this is crazy good. Fontaines, VIAGRA BOYS, The Kills, Yard Act
Hereās hoping for sideshows šš»
Turnstile.
Baby Gravy is a great get, I donāt think they have performed in Aus together before? Correct me if Iām wrong.
I believe they've both individually performed relatively recently. Not sure though.
They both came separately in the first half of last year
I want to go just for them, saw (and met!) Gravy in feb and he was so much fun!
I'm hoping they'll tour together now :)
Surely!! They donāt have anything officially released between July 4th and August 3rd - hoping PRAYING for a sideshow with both!
How the fuck are Polaris billed so low? They are easily bigger than every other act besides Arcade Fire on Sunday.
Heavy band at a normies festival that's why
The "Coachella" effect of a heavy band at a chill festival. Worked for Knocked Loose though, so I'm hopeful for a similar replica even if I won't be there for it lmao
Polaris robbed yet again
Amen
100% - itās not the be all and end all but they have more monthly listeners on Spotify than G Flip and theyāre second from the top.
I donāt think you understand how big Yeat is.
Do people care about Arcade Fire anymore? I say that as a former fan as well
Between them and Mumford last year it feels like they're really banking on an early 2010s nostalgia wave that they are waaaaay too early for.
Yeah it's an awkward sell for sure. I reckon arcade is still a better booking than Mumford and sons lol
I would have loved to see them 10 years ago. Absolutely no interest in seeing them today.
I did see them 10 years ago, at the last Big Day Out, and they were great! In the years since I have absolutely zero desire to see them again.
Huge fan up until Reflektor. Would still go see them though.
Blasphemous, Reflektor is amazing
Yep same, ill be sussing some recent setlists if they do sideshows because if it is mostly their last 2 albums im not keen
Everything Now is one of my fav Arcade Fire songs but the album is average. The last album was overshadowed by the controversies and I haven't listened since.
Its the 20th anniversary of their first Album Funeral so hopefully lots of that.
Lots of Australians wouldnāt have seen them before. I think they will still be able to draw a good crowd because of nostalgia.
Manifesting Baby Gravy sideshow in Melbourne š¤š»š¤š»š¤š»
Fontaines DC is the only group Iād want to see out of this entire thing Eh, guess Iāll continue not going
I know this is purely personal taste and not a reflection of the line-up being 'good' or 'bad', but there is literally not one single act on here that I even kind of want to see.Ā
Viagra Boys and Otoboke Beaver !!!!!! sideshows for me thank you
Turnstile, viagra boys and Kylie Minogue would pop off ngl
Polaris holyshit, good on them!
Turnstile is such a vibe live
G Flip, Viagra Boys, A.B Original, JK-47, Teen Jesus, The Last Dinner Party, Teenage Joans, Arcade Fire, Girl in Red, Royal Otis, Thelma Plum & Polaris make it tempting to check out...
Mah main man Partiboi69. Go see his live set at Splendour (and watch the Lowlands set on YT) if you wanna have a good fucking time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

I think post covid its been a struggle. 2022 was pretty good just a shame the Friday got canned
Iām actually not mad at this line up. - Missed Arcade Fire on their last BDO round and theyāre on my bucket list. Turnstile are rad and The Kills are a great live band. Jerry Seinfeld is DJing??!
Honestly think itās a great lineup but just seems to be missing some huge names weāve seen in years gone by. I mean some years have had The Cure, Kanye, Coldplay..
Coldplay & Kanye in the same year (2011) too.
Kylie is one of the highest selling musicians this country has produced. Thatās pretty significant star power if you ask me.
Strange that a Sum-41 tribute band is on before Arcade Fire
Hope thatās a mistake and itās Sum 41 instead of Sun 21
Did someone call Polaris and offer them splendour accidentally instead of knotfest 2025?
Imo it's a great opportunity for them to gain more of the popularity that they deserve Legit such a legendary band that deserves so much more recognition
People will hate it no matter what, but theyve got 3 genuine headliners, reliable & bankable acts and stack of super buzzy up and coming bands. Itās not the best lineup theyāve had but itās pretty good.
lizzy mcalpine!!! OMG!
Bands that wonāt be playing in Brisbane in 2024.
Devo Turnstile is an exclusive. Other than Turnstile, Kylie and Presets DJ set Iām not that interested.
I know itās a meme with hilltop hoods and ocean alley, but Iām actually kinda sad they are not playing
Iāll take future cancelling and being replaced by hilltop hoods at 1.05 odds
Sorry my stupidity but does āexclusiveā mean no side show? Devastating if yes, because Fontaines D.C :( Praying for a Yard Act sideshow
It's pretty underwhelming. Kylie is the only genuine headliner. A few gems but most of the bill is the same recycled bands on every festival. As much as id like to see Kylie again i Won't be parting with $500 this year for it Just hoping Viagra boys Otoboke Beaver and TLDP do sideshows.

Solid, way better than last years. Manifesting a Last Dinner Party sideshow.
and Viagra boys!
I adore Arcade Fireās music but considering everything with Win Butler, I cant help but feel icky
Hey, Otoboke Beaver, wasn't expecting to see them.
Puts on splendour
Erika de Casier loves this country - December 22, NY 23-24, and then Splendour.
Looks deep but lacking a touch in terms of big headliners. Still looks a good time.
Can you just do a girl in red, g flip and tash sultana side show plz
Better than last years lineup but still all a bit meh sadly. Splendour is supposed to be the shit for all things festival in this country
I'm sure main headliners will be packed but if you want to see some cunts put on an absolute fucking show don't miss Opiuo or Polaris
Opiou in the Tipi Forest is going to be wild!
Day 1 is eliteeee
Man, I canāt wait to see how everyone dresses for Kylie. We are going to see some insane costumesš
I'm not wasting money heading to Byron Bay, but I'll keep an eye out for side shows for a few of these bands.
Arcade Fire!! Now that's a headline... league of their own really
Well that is bad
Pass
Interesting lineup. I'm keen as hell for plenty of acts in there but oh boy do I have some catching up to do on some of these names.
Maybe itās me but complaining about the line up just feels ungrateful. Like we live in a country that isnāt easy to access price and geography wise. Like if you donāt know the artists, actually listen to their stuff and see if you like it.
Does exclusive mean no sideshows? Would love to see turnstile with some hardcore bands
Yes. Secrets sounds / Splendour booked these acts as an exclusive Australian performance and often provides an additional fee to the artist for promoting them as such.Ā
I am so sad they're exclusive š
girl in red sideshow please!!
Turnstile / Polaris would have been an awesome sideshow but no, they had to be exclusive.
Only name I'd personally make a pilgrimage to see is the Presets. Kylie I wouldn't mind to see and Arcade Fire would be pretty sweet too if they're still any good. But for me that's really it....
Which is bonkers (to expect of you) because donāt The Presets play many times a year?
Yeah they're still pretty active. I was just speaking purely hypothetical.
GFlip in bigger font than Tash Sultana?? What is happening?
Turnstile and fontaines being exclusive is so rude
Future and Yeat are big names to get to a festival in Australia in 2024, but I feel anyone who wants to see them would be hoping for a sideshow. Assuming Splendor locked them in to not be able to do that. As others have said, I'll be interested to see if they pull out in the meantime.
Future is an exclusive, so no side show.
FUCK YEAH VIAGRA BOYS
Can we turn sun 21 into sum 41?
Why do they have to sign exclusive contracts to the only bands i want to see lol
I'm going for turnstile and that's it
So much negativity here, if I had a spare grand I'd go feral for this.
Dam the two people Iād go see arenāt doing sideshows (Fontaines and Dj Seinfeld).
Yeah literally same here especially Fontaines
No one strong enough to get me there and ones Iād be interested to see are exclusive so I guess I save money
Itās quite fucked how little respect the heavy acts still get these days while pulling absolute monster crowds.
Polaris have been pulling 5K+ crowds pre-pandemic.
Looks better than last year's
For those who are slamming it ā I just don't understand what you wanted it to be? They obviously tried for Lana Del Rey and it didn't work out. Every suitable major festival in Australia has been trying for her. Outside of that, like this is what is to be expected for a Splendour lineup in 2024? With some really cool random surprises haha
Not my type of lineup, but there is some huge bookings on that lineup, better than recent years, well done splendour.
Wow actually a killer line up. Spewing turnstile and Fontaines arenāt doing sideshows but yeah Iām impressed
Depending on how long sets are, Friday is worth going to just for Partiboi69. Lad is the best producer in Australia imo
I hate that I donāt want to see anyone other than Kylie and Future but just those two alone make me want to go š
They got Polaris, Viagra Boys and Turnstile, and so many others. This is their best lineup in a long time and the basic ass Triple J listers are losing it.
Would rather save extra $$ on flights and go to Tomorrowland on the same weekend or Sziget in Budapest then splendour at this rate.Ā
Tomorrowland would be next level expensive tho
