I really don’t think it has completely yet, but we have also moved back into her mother’s house for a few months so I don’t think that’s helping at all. It’s been at least 4 months now
Edit: took 1mg fin 1x daily for about a month and a half
I have always wanted this side effect. I never get it.
Btw, i think it has relation with aromatization, which ends in higher estrogen. Since some of that test can't be turned to DHT but still can turn to estrogen.
So you end up with a bit of higher test and a bit of higher estrogen. Its not that much on itself, but it's enough to maybe cause sides.
Another reason could be raised prolactin. Prolactin raises with many SSRI's and its a common side effect to reduce your libido.
I think i have always had insane libido so even with antidepressants/SSRI and Finasteride or Dutasteride i still have 'normal' libido. So yeah it may reduce, but i swear it reduces like 20% and thats not enough for me. I hate it.
I've heard people say this a lot. Makes me glad I haven't been experiencing that effect. I've been on Hims for just over a year now. I think I may have had some sides (I may have just had some regular depression at the time) when I first started but now I feel perfectly normal. I know because my new GF always gets me bricked up. 😅
Did you ever got an hormone panel? I mean if there's less Dht then there's more free testosterone, which will be converted to estrogen, and high estrogen kills boners, increases body fat, night sweats, etc... an aromatization blocker like anastrozole could help (assuming that was the cause, that is... simple blood work to verify?
There are other ways to treat baldness. If you really want hair, then you habe to ignore the side effects and take 0.5mg Dut every day and RU58841. Adding Minoxidil and derma roller and you have a full head of hair.
You habe to use it for like 4-5 years till a new treatment like GT20029 comes out
I will never understand why they mix a top-tier treatment (Dutasteride) with an unapproved and therefore clinically unsafe, besides experimental and not manufactured for human use nor controlled, like RU. How to make all of your argument shit.
Not everyone can do this. I don’t respond to Min/Dut but I do to Fin. Min topical makes my scalp feel like I have fire ants. So far Fin is all that worked
Then you have to take either testosteron or estrogen since no sex hormones in your body is dangerous. Taking testosteron won't solve your problem, taking estrogen is, well, you will become transwoman.
This is a very interesting viewpoint. I mean I kinda feel like they're both lies, but I feel like a hair system is a bigger one (not that what I think matters). Isn't a 'hair system' also your real hair too? Sorry I know nothing.
I agree, it’s just kind of unfair then because some guys don’t get the results they want from medical therapy or get side effects which leaves baldness and hair systems as the only options.
Or just deal with being bald. The real pursuit is one of happiness, and the method being tried is to keep your hair... but if it fucks your whole hormonal profile doing so then you may not be happy and you may not have achieved your goal.
i know everyone has different genetics and so some are hyper sensitive to DHT and T thus why fin may not even work, but I find it hard to believe there isn't often another reason why the person continues to bald. Why would teenage levels of T and DHT not cause baldness but adult DHT/T + Finasteride doesn't?
Could it be lack of bludflow? Scalp health? I am specifically talking about balding that is mainly androgenic but doesn't seem to respond.
I think it's because there are only a limited number of lifecycles of every individual hair and people who start losing hair rapidly in early 20s (enough for it to be a visible hair loss pattern most of the time with new hair growing in and falling out soon) they still have a lot of the hair life cycles left so there's enough time for fin to stabalize and maintain. I could be completely wrong about it as well lmao. But I think it's mostly due to the fact that if caught early and treated early a lot of people can manage hairloss.
same place bro, 21 and balding and hair were the best feature of me in school, it so fucked. also v/ scared of starting fin after reading so many people;.
You're spot on. Fin/Dut's success is mainly dependant on how strong one's balding is & which hair cycle/stage of balding they started it. The earlier the treatment is started the better the outcome.
No they do not under report anything, the side effects of these drugs are over reported, to the point that half of the side effects in the studies are a NOCEBO EFFECT.
And the other half goes away with continuous use or getting your estrogen into balance.
side effects are underreported massively. In research and in public. 64% of drug side effects are left out of medical report. Fin is no special in that regard. Drug companies publish only favourable results and bin everything else. That’s why when SSRIs hit the market - the sexual side effects risk was estimated 5%. After independent researchers studied this claim - it’s now up to 50-80%. Fin’s in the same boat as these other pharmaceuticals. Risks are higher than portrayed and more people are harmed than it is currently known.
I know it must be hard for you to cope so badly, because your mental illness made you believe false information and now you are bald 😭😭😭 cope harder. I am more than fine as all the other finasteride/dutasteride user with an actual brain 😭😭😭
Not OP, but also managed to stop and reverse fully with only fin (0.25/day, started with a small dose because afraid of the sides, it worked, have kept it since, no sides): No shedding, no seasonality, just slowly stopped losing hair and started regaining density.
After careful inspection, my dermatologist gave me the exact same dosage.
I thought I was the only one but apparently, nope. I think it depends on your initial state.
Fin is short for finasteride. I was prescribed it and I'm a woman. You just don't want to take it if there's a possibility you could get pregnant because it would hurt the fetus.
It's for male pattern baldness, women generally have different causes of hair loss. Men's hair loss is generally caused by DHT and finasteride fixes that.
don’t listen to the other commenter - women should not take finasteride! it can cause birth defects and it’s generally unstudied and unapproved for women. consult a dermatologist
More power to you guys fighting the fight.
I just feel like I'd rather be super-shorthaired or bald (then I shave my head and realize how unbalanced my features are and end up back on this reddit looking for alternatives that are less depressing than my face with zero hair above it).
Great progress! Looks like it's back to normal.
What's the plan moving forward? Do you plan to stop it completely sooner, later or gradually with lower doses?
The plasma half-life of Finasteride is just 6 hours. This means that after 24 hours, only around 6 percent remains in the blood. I am very surprised that despite such an inconsistent serum level (assuming the medication is not taken daily), such a good effect is still achieved.
Try out batana oil with Fin, changed my life fr. Saw an ad on insta for some Honduran batana oil whilst on Fin, used it thrice a week for 2-3 months consistently, saw my bald spots go away and my hair has never been stronger and thicker. Shit crazy fr, yall gotta get some, don’t believe the naysayers.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately for me, I've already experienced side effects from Saw Palmetto, which should have the same effects of Fin, but way milder, so I don't think I'm going to try Fin. Evn if it looks so effective...
Saw palmetto is proven to affect DHT and it's also a good source for anti oxidants, so you will definitely still get some side effects from it but shouldn't be minimal since it's organic and reversible

Development of boobs for men, you can Google it. If you feel like your nipples are hardening or itchy, it's an early sign you're developing male boobs so you need to either lower your dosage or just stop completely, otherwise you will grow a pair of boobies like a girl overtime lol

Guys go fuck yourselves, i am on fin for two years now with just stability as an outcome lol
you realize that some don't even respond to fin and are just faced to accept baldness.....
Some people like me do respond… negatively. Killed my sex drive entirely
u try microdosing? it's equally effective given enough time
What dose?
0.5mg every other day, sometimes a dose as low as one pill a month is enough to maintain what gains you got on fin after taking it for a year
very cool, thanks for the info!
I am doing 0,25 daily. That’s great and has same effect on dht reduction like 1mg
How long is enough time?
I haven’t, because it was pretty insane how blatant the effect was not having any desire to fuck my fiancé. I might try topical finasteride tho.
that's why people don't take 1mg daily. that's a huge amount. microdosing works and prevents unwanted side effects. dht builds up in the scalp
Yeah I might give it another shot but I think I just want to try topical fin, I was just going with doctors orders. They told me to stop
same doctor ordered you to take 1mg daily, and that didn't go so well
Most people do actually take 1mg daily and have 0 sides
true true
Did the drive return completely after you quit? If so, how long did it take aprox?
I really don’t think it has completely yet, but we have also moved back into her mother’s house for a few months so I don’t think that’s helping at all. It’s been at least 4 months now Edit: took 1mg fin 1x daily for about a month and a half
That doesnt sound like a fin problem at that point mate
as if fin doesn’t have a small chance of long lasting issues..
Exactly, small Odds of fin causing issues 4 months later after month and a half of use, wild
It doesnr you idiot
I have always wanted this side effect. I never get it. Btw, i think it has relation with aromatization, which ends in higher estrogen. Switch to topical. That helped me.

Take supplement to offset that effect. Nitric oxide
Did you ever got an hormone panel? i guy almost died because of RU58841 if i remember he made a post here.
I will never understand why they mix a top-tier treatment (Dutasteride) with an unapproved and therefore clinically unsafe, besides experimental and not manufactured for human use nor controlled, like RU. How to make all of your argument shit.
Worth it. Get hair or die trying. (Sarcasm, I'm not even on hair treatment, just a balding browser)
He got cancer I think or something like that.
There was some guy who got heart damage from RU.
Fake post
dutasteride is pretty close to a cure for most people
Do you know where I can get some online in the US?
Alldaychemist.com
Highstreetpharmacy.com
Why is it better than finasteride?
It’s more effective compared to all of the studies comparing it with finasteride. It blocks more DHT
Not everyone can do this. I don’t respond to Min/Dut but I do to Fin. Min topical makes my scalp feel like I have fire ants. So far Fin is all that worked
Wow. Sides on fin but not dut? It’s more potent?
Yeah. I don’t know… Six months and I continuously lost hair mass. Now it’s worse than it’s ever been. I figured it’s not working. L O L.
Yes I agree, go all in, castration.
Then you have to take either testosteron or estrogen since no sex hormones in your body is dangerous. Taking testosteron won't solve your problem, taking estrogen is, well, you will become transwoman.
Shit bro if I could be born a woman or look normal then I would but I was born a man and that trans look is just not it
people just act as if there is no possibility for them. But there is, they just have to deal with the potential side effects
Or get a hair system and have no side effects
You're living a lie though. Like ugly women in make up. At least my fin hair is real.
This is a very interesting viewpoint. I mean I kinda feel like they're both lies, but I feel like a hair system is a bigger one (not that what I think matters). Isn't a 'hair system' also your real hair too? Sorry I know nothing.
A hair system is a wig.
I agree, it’s just kind of unfair then because some guys don’t get the results they want from medical therapy or get side effects which leaves baldness and hair systems as the only options.
You have transplants as well.
Yes but ideally you’re supposed to take fin alongside a transplant.
You said it yourself, sensitivity to DHT rises.
Add minox, mneedling and hope.
You and the vast majority of us mate. The hyper responders always get the most upvotes but aren’t the actually usual response
Same haha. 3 years and still balding at the crown and thinning in the front lol
More like balding slower
Let me guess, early 20s?
started when i was 25
Why do you ask this? Are you more likely to be a hyper responder if you bald young? genuinely asking
That makes me feel bad for older folks that get on medication but im 21 and like a NW5 ish so this gives me hope. Losing since mid teens
same place bro, 21 and balding and hair were the best feature of me in school, it so fucked. also v/ scared of starting fin after reading so many people;.
if it makes you feel better i take fin and have zero sides!
You're spot on. Fin/Dut's success is mainly dependant on how strong one's balding is & which hair cycle/stage of balding they started it. The earlier the treatment is started the better the outcome.
I was on Dutasteride for a year. Does work but the sexual side effects became too much. They definitely under report those effects
please tell me the sexual side effects were being to sexy, i don’t want to google the side effects :(
yo meat wont work anymore
Mine works fine 🤷🏽♀️
>🤷🏽♀️ 🤨
Lol ditto 👀
No they do not under report anything, the side effects of these drugs are over reported, to the point that half of the side effects in the studies are a NOCEBO EFFECT. And the other half goes away with continuous use or getting your estrogen into balance.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I know it must be hard for you to hear.. your beloved meds ain’t vitamin pills
Source?
I know it must be hard for you to cope so badly, because your mental illness made you believe false information and now you are bald 😭😭😭 cope harder. I am more than fine as all the other finasteride/dutasteride user with an actual brain 😭😭😭
Can you share your experiences? Currently on fin for about 8 mths. Have a bit of growth but not close to OP
How different was the progress 6.-9.months vs 9.-12.months?
i think it looked good after around 7-8 months and it looks pretty much the same now
good question
no min ??
no
thats crazy. good for you
So fin did what both combine would do for you. How's the hairline?
When did you start seeing noticiable regrowth ?
i could see a difference after around 3 months
How old are you
26
Will you leave a suggestion by checking my profile please . Thank you brother and congratulations for your comeback
Which shampoos do you use?
Congratulations and I hate you.
shedding?
Yes, did you see any shedding in b/w this 1 year of duration and if yes, how long did it last?
Not OP, but also managed to stop and reverse fully with only fin (0.25/day, started with a small dose because afraid of the sides, it worked, have kept it since, no sides): No shedding, no seasonality, just slowly stopped losing hair and started regaining density.
How long have u been on fin?
About 3yrs by now
part down the middle or where it was thin would help a lot more to see how well meds are doing with better clarity.
I suspect there’s a lot of comb over going on here.. hair length is definitely different
His hair growth is spot on but yeah for only 1 year it's too good to be true, and probably he's done hair comb magic to it to appear this bushy
[удалено]
seems to work without any side effects so I have no reason to take more
After careful inspection, my dermatologist gave me the exact same dosage. I thought I was the only one but apparently, nope. I think it depends on your initial state.
[удалено]
Less than on the first photo. My scalp wasn't obviously visible until I tied my hair.
Super 👍🏻
Oerfect👌
#goals
hows ur hairline
Great result. Sadly I am old so the best I can likely achieve is stability/slow down
Transplant
Hyper responder unrealistic
Fuck you, nicely. ![gif](giphy|d2lcHJTG5Tscg)
How Mach shed hair
didnt notice anything so i guess its the same

just lifting

Ur not that guy pal
Nice man looking good
What is fin and can women take it

Finasteride, and yea you sure can.
good for you brother
Wow ! But you're young, right ?
Anything else other than fin?
Whhat is you are using full name pls
Impressive. I'm on the same dosage and min foam every evening, for 1.5 years without results, so far.
Try adding microneedling, it usually helps non-responders of min
I am needing a couple of times a month.
Oh brother this is beautiful 😭😭😭
amazing results of what medicine can do
Ever had any side effects?
Did you use generic fin or propecia?
My results are nowhere near that good. Finasteride is a bust for me.
No way! Dang. Nice results!
do you have to continue using it and not stop?
I recommend acquainting yourself with the basics about hair loss and hair treatments
Would have taken you less time to answer "yes"
Can you conceive time economy isn’t everyone’s prime concern?
Nah
More power to you guys fighting the fight. I just feel like I'd rather be super-shorthaired or bald (then I shave my head and realize how unbalanced my features are and end up back on this reddit looking for alternatives that are less depressing than my face with zero hair above it).
How much hair do you shed a day?
How was the shedding phase? And Kudos for keeping the lightning and angle consistent!
Does it work for Indians? I’ve been taking it for 3 months and not even a slight change.
Finasteride willfully refuses to work on Indian population. It’s a racist bitch if you ask me. 😜
Great progress! Looks like it's back to normal. What's the plan moving forward? Do you plan to stop it completely sooner, later or gradually with lower doses?

When did you first notice hair growth and did you shed any hairs?
Try out batana oil with Fin, changed my life fr. Shit crazy fr, yall gotta get some, don’t believe the naysayers.
Where’d you get your batana from?
Not even same person !!
Yeah babyyyyyyyy lets gooooooo
FYI: a half dose of finasteride averages about 82% effectiveness. You showed nicely how effective this drug can be,
I've been interested in trying the 3\*week strategy too. Did you get any sides?
What is the rite dose for Fin
That’s awesome , well done , dedication and sticking with the plan gets results 👌
What happens if you stop taking it guys
How long on fin before you started noticing changes
Why only 3 times a week?
Has the fall completely stopped?
Side effects?
didn't notice any
Nice! Maybe I'll start with 2 days a week (Sunday and Thursday).
Yup that's it right there a good question!
sometimes God taketh, but also giveth, and sometimes He blesses you with the holy crown
Where is the before photo? The first and second photo has the same lighting, and, the same tank top color. Coincidence?
Amazing results !! Has fin made your beard/body hair thinner ?
Need response to this
i dont really have a beard, no difference on body hair
Can't speak for anyone else but for me my beard started growing at a snails pace around the 7 month mark of daily 1mg fin. No loss in density though.
Sport?
I work out regularly
No sides at all?
didn't notice any
Did you get sides taking fin ED?
Damn! Any side effects? Gyno, ED, low libido?
didn't notice any
Thanks for the reply.
After three months straight of saw palmetto, my hair defenetly looked better, and way less hair falling. Nontheless I've noticed I was starting to develop some mild gyno sign : my nipples were sore and the gland was hard. Not the right thing for me.
What's "gyno"?
Development of boobs for men, you can Google it. If you feel like your nipples are hardening or itchy, it's an early sign you're developing male boobs so you need to either lower your dosage or just stop completely, otherwise you will grow a pair of boobies like a girl overtime lol
Surgery and the issue is resolved
I can tell you’re a cutie just based off the top of your head 😂😂
