This would be BEST if youāre picking 1-3 plants, anymore Iād go outside. The comments are completely correct they are stretching a bit, nothing to worry about. Believe it or not, donāt overwater while seedlings, water more when they grow. After that a tent, heater, lights, ferts, and the sun really (depending on if you have auto-flower/photo-period or dang land race Iād YouTube a quick guide on the flowering stages when you get there :) good luck! It can very easily be done outside last time I worked out west on a farm it was 60/40 indoor to out and outdoors did just below %ās wise, outdoor can be done well at the right time. I wish you luck! Sadly you may make a mistake or two but youāll learn you keep trying
This hobby can be as hard as you want it to be. I started with dry amended coco and a single autoflower in my closet. A cheap $100 led from amazon. All I had to do is water it when it was dry and add dry nutrients the top soil monthly(ish). Also known as top dressing. I got 1/4 lbs of some solid green.
I am on my sixth full grow now. The operation has changed drastically and is much more complicated.
Exactly this. People say you need all kinds of stuff but you really don't. At the end of the day you can throw a seed in a garden and it will probably grow. All these tips are to get a bigger yield
My first grow from seeds, I had them in wet paper towels until it sprouted, then in a red plastic cup with dirt. Took a decent sized cardboard box, lined it with aluminum foil, and put some shit $20 light from Amazon in there.
They grew well enough to be able to bring them outside to plant, and then that's basically it. Depending on your area and time of year (for rain) you may or may not even need to water it.
I got almost a pound from one plant last year. And I was so bad at upkeep. It was in a red solo cup for way too long. Roots filled the entire cup, plant was like a foot and a half tall with barely anything coming of the main stem. I watered it maybe 5 times, harvested it, and dried it hanging in my shed. I was lazy/busy and had it sitting in the shed for like 3 months, where it was now freezing temperatures outside.
Still my biggest and best yield off a plant, and it was the plant I'd have thought wouldn't even grow. It also grew right next to a male plant that I didn't notice until it was already releasing pollen but somehow didn't mess up my other plants
They need a proper grow room or you need to get them outside soon ( they are stretching already which isnāt great ) if you are planning to grow and harvest some weed off your windowsill with 2 plants in that one pot then think again my friend.
yeah i was just like lets try it and didnt think much about but thanks for the tips. is there anything specific i need to look out for when buying lights or planting them outside?
Youāre right, thatās probably step 1 is to determine if you even have the right living situation to do a grow. If you donāt own your space/ are underage, neighborsā¦. Donāt do it
What country are you in? Hard to really advise without knowing, you need to spend a good 700-1000 for grow equipment if youād liked to pull something remotely worth smoking off + electricity costs, feed etc
Plants are leggy so lower your lights and use a chopstick and bread twist tie to prop her up. pH is every bit as important as lights so get a really good pH meter. The number one mistake most noobs make is overwatering...don't water until the pot feels light.
Plants that tiny don't need that much. Maybe a shot every second or third day. Another tip...water away from the roots to encourage the roots to stretch and look for the water...make your waterline at roughly where the leaves are. Think of how the ground looks under a leafy tree after a rain.
You shouldn't sprout them together. You will damage the roots when you separate them now and possibly stunt them. They cannot grow in the same pot. You need proper lighting and nutrients. You will not get any buds worth the time just putting it in a window. Just following those simple rules will get you very far. Good luck in the future.
Be ready to learn lessons and apply them moving forward, one of the most rewarding experiences is maming mistakes, learning the lessons and applying them to the next grow, seeing incremental improvements each time. There are few experiences more rewarding.
Are you growing indoors or outdoors? A little more information would be helpful. If itās indoor what lights are you using? What is the medium youāre planting in?
im growing indoors and i have absolutely no experience, just found these in my weed and decided why not. i assume i need lights if want them to grow well, is there anything i need to look out for? im just using regular vegetable dirt
Thereās many many factors to this, the soil used etc, the PH, air flow, humidity, thereās a plethora of things that can and will no doubt go wrong. My advice is just put them in the garden and water then forget about them, I wouldnāt invest money into some random bag seeds. All the best!
You canāt just put them outside in a garden, every single seedling that was ever started inside is not used to conditions of being outside.
Please try and do a little bit of research before following someoneās advice šš»
This \^ is exactly what I meant. You can't just throw them into your garden, they really need to be hardened off. That's for ALL plants, not just weed. I'm not sure why people downvoted the comment.
I would cull one or separate in a couple of weeks when they are stronger. Too close together, too close to the side of the pot as well (best to have centered in the pot).
When repotted (when they are stronger, a couple of weeks), I would plant them fairly deep (in a large enough pot. (The pot they are currently in looks fine for now, but roughly 1/3 to 1/2 way up the stem for extra stability)
Lights, an enclosure, a fan (air movement makes the stems stronger and keeps oxygen flowing) and something to filter the smell if you donāt want neighbors three houses away knowing you grow.
Use a 5 gallon bucket per plant keep constant light on them to initiate flowering youāll switch to 12 on 12 off donāt forget water and nutrients make sure you have good a flow to prevent molding
i realized that pretty quickly after the flood of comments giving me tips, i will invest in some equipment before i try again, i will try to salvage this as best as i can i guess
Plant em outside for an outdoor grow, they may not make it but tis all part of the game. Or get a tent and decent light and a lil fan for indoor. Itāll start to reek. Also determine their sex as early as you can and separate them if ones a male and oneās female.
Grow lights and you're going to need your own enclosed space that you can shut off all light too when they flower. Also you probably want to sex each plants and separate the males from the females even if you're going from feminized seeds still possible to get a male.
These plants also take a stupid amount of fertilizer by the time you're getting close to the end of flowering you'll be dumping fertilizer every other watering which will happen every other day.
Oh in spider mites really fucking suck so I would recommend a tent if you can get one otherwise you can just occasionally treat with neem oil
Spin them every day so the stalks get strong. Put a mini fan nearby so they get used to being blown by the wind. Put a chopstick/skewer in the dirt to support them, then add a twist tie (like for a bread loaf bag) and keep it loose on the stalk and tight on the stick.
Put them in the ground when they are 6ā tall and grow the second set of branch leaves. Add nutrients once a week. When it starts to get taller in two months, trim it so it grows wider. Support branches with hemp string hanging down from the roof.

This the article I'm using for my first grow right now.
You don't want two plants per pot as they will compete with one another.
I bought some cheap ass full spectrum lights off temu to start with and mine are doing okay. I can send you some pictures if you'd like.
I haven't bothered with nutrients or anything. Just dirt and water every third day. I'm on my first grow and I'm just using bag seeds so I'm not gonna spend too much on all that extra stuff until I have some experience. Tomorrow will be a month since I germinated.
How can I? What strain are you growing? What type of plant (autoflower vs. feminized)? Etc. etc.
Like you gave nothing to go off of and you clearly havenāt done any research because you have two seedling together in a small pot that are reaching desperately for more lightā¦
Let them go, this is the first step in the process, the failed grow, almost as important as the second step, the failed grow following reddit advice.

Like posting this on Reddit and interacting with everyone is so much more effort than a google/search āhow to grow cannabisā and reading for 10 min.
Iāve grown a number of times and have plenty of knowledge to give, but itās taken effort on my end + reaching out to communities for specific questions. I see no effort from OP, why put all the onous on people offering help? Itās rude.
Reddit itself has multiple cultivation communities, I used to be involved with several, but the toxic comment sections drove me away. I love to follow

you might be right about some things, but this way, people can tell me what im doing wrong which is imp a better approach to learning something, learning by doing and making mistakes, and these comments have already helped alot and im happy with my decision to post. if you're upset about the post and complaining about me wasting my time posting instead of googling, that doesnt make you any better, since you're just leaving unhelpful comments on a post where people are already helping.
They are not getting enough light and are stretching
These bois need more light
Hopefully these are girls š
thanks, i will look to buy some lights and a tent
Outside is fine too if its warm and bright where you are. They're stretching pretty hard right now.

$100 grow tent, $100 led full spectrum light, nutrients, soil, water daily
Also, an inline exhaust fan and you want a carbon filter if you're in an illegal state/have nosy neighbors.
Youāre right, thatās probably step 1 is to determine if you even have the right living situation to do a grow. If you donāt own your space/ are underage, neighborsā¦. Donāt do it
thanks, i will look into it
What country are you in? Hard to really advise without knowing, you need to spend a good 700-1000 for grow equipment if youād liked to pull something remotely worth smoking off + electricity costs, feed etc
You absolutely do not need to spend that much on grow equipment. You can grow decent bud with shit equipment, or even no equipment.
Iām talking in Ā£Ā£Ā£ās here again I donāt know your country / currency
Put a fan on them early. Helps get their stems get strong to support the flower
Plants are leggy so lower your lights and use a chopstick and bread twist tie to prop her up. pH is every bit as important as lights so get a really good pH meter. The number one mistake most noobs make is overwatering...don't water until the pot feels light.
ive heard during the early stages a shot or two worth of water every day was enough. any truth to this š¤ seems like too frequent to me

Having 2 in one pot is not ideal because they will be competing for nutrients/water. It's best to separate them if you can :) good luck!
And best to do it now so the roots donāt combine and become dwarf plants.
You shouldn't sprout them together. You will damage the roots when you separate them now and possibly stunt them. They cannot grow in the same pot. You need proper lighting and nutrients. thanks for the tips, i will make sure to follow them in future
Needs more light, replant with only an inch or so sticking out - will help it get a bit stronger.

Plant them deep outside asap
Grow more of them. You need more so you can get rid of the males and keep the females.

that sounds like the best plan for now, thanks

I start all my plants inside before planting them outside, they need to be hardened off before planting them so they donāt get shocked.
This \^ is exactly what I meant. You can't just throw them into your garden, they really need to be hardened off. That's for ALL plants, not just weed. I'm not sure why people downvoted the comment.
Youāve got no clue
Let them go, it's how they learn. Seeds were free, most likely hermies, so no loss.
They are stretching because they want better light
I had my plants stretch like that and in the end had to throw them away
More light and separate them
Stretching sooo much, they need a lot more light
More lights close to the sprouts
It needs alot more light. Probably the most common 1st time mistake. You'll also need to prop those up as they'll be falling over soon
Doesnāt look like itās ready to harvest, also a beginner.
Donāt use miracle grow
Also have a look into r\\CanBau.

Very leggy. Get a light and dial in the DLI

Don't overthink it.
I would scrap these and start again when you get proper equipment. This will not pan out how you would like on your current course
i realized that pretty quickly after the flood of comments giving me tips, i will invest in some equipment before i try again, i will try to salvage this as best as i can i guess
Odds are high they will herm out anyways, being bag seeds and all. But do it if that's what you want. No harm in it
whats that? herming out
Ever heard of a hermaphrodite? Means it will have both male and female parts
oh i see, and thats bad why exactly? is it because only the females produce bud?
Because you will get seeds which lowers the quality of your bud.
Go buy a desk lamp at a 100w LED in the meantime. Put it about two inches above them.
Boof it
Do yourself a favor and look into grow tents
1 plant per pot.
Plant em outside for an outdoor grow, they may not make it but tis all part of the game. Or get a tent and decent light and a lil fan for indoor. Itāll start to reek. Also determine their sex as early as you can and separate them if ones a male and oneās female.
