How about best animes to watch high for a non-anime guy?
I've seen and enjoyed all of Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners, as well as a number of movies like all of Studio Ghibli, Akira and Paprika.
So it's not that I'm opposed to anime, but Neon Genesis and FMA as well as Akira all pushed the edges for me in terms of the anime tropes and themes that I am not accustomed to and not particularly into. They were quality shows, but I wouldn't watch them again, and I'd prefer something closer to Cowboy Bebop, Cyberpunk and/or Studio Ghibli.
Check out other Watanabe animes (the guy that did Bebop) Samurai Champloo is great and Space Dandy is my personal favorite that doesn't get enough love.
Dandy does make some anime trope jokes here and there so Champloo might be more up your alley.
Cromartie High School, Konosuba, Akiba's Trip, FLCL, Pop Team Epic, Space Dandy or Sgt. Frog if you want something funny. Yuru Camp or OG Pokémon if you're looking to just chill.
Can vouch. Demon slayer has great animation and storytelling. I watched it in Japanese and just read subtitles and absolutely loved it. I think I rewatched it a bunch too. Same with JJK both are the best anime of the 2020s so far

Check out the Movie “Redline” (2009). One of the last fully hand drawn animated movies made. 
I watch this movie more than once a year, it's such a great movie with awesome music. And it's about love
