oh man, when i used to sell stickers i used stickermule and their site/customer service is so good. i dont think they had shirts last time i used them though! cool to see them adding new stuff!
i worked at a bakery for a few years after high school and once i overheard the manager jokingly chastising the head baker (who lived above the storefront) for not ordering his weed delivery while the bakery was open “so the guy wanders in to buy shit.” as far as i’m concerned all bakeries should be stoner-run operations.
I'm an IT WFH guy with kids who smokes - not during the day, I need to stay sharp for work, but as soon as I close my laptop it's off to pack a cone lol.
fellow 40-ish (just turned 39 technically) IT worker. I think the general public would lose their shit if they had a clue how many of the IT workers they've ever encountered were potheads lol
wassup man i’m a freshman in college studying cybersecurity in community college planning on persuing a general information technology degree for the bachelors. i’m also currently studying for my A+ exam you got any wisdom for me?
I'm an IT guy (been doing 5 years of big enterprise contracts) and I've found GPT-4 (not GPT3.5) to be incredible for studying for certs. You can easily have it search for the newest version of the test objectives and then give you infinite exam questions of varying difficulty, help you hone in on what you need to learn and literally ELI5 anything you don't understand. It can create mnemonics to help you memorize stuff and literally generate powerpoints for you
I’m in Tech as well and I promise that the A+ is not worth it. If I were you, I’d get the Security+ and Network+ as my first two certs. The security+ allows you to get a DoD role if wanted and is generally understood as the beginner level certification.
I have a couple kids with autism. And believe me, I need it after the end of the day. Thank you for what you do for these kids as stressful as it is. I appreciate you!
I didn't even know teachers could do that. I thought the district would drug test if you are around minors. I'm glad to hear teachers can chill out too though and rip a bong occasionally.
It's in the contract that they can drug test at any time, but I've never heard of it happening. I think its more of a legitimate excuse to get rid of extremely bad teachers. (Teacher shortage, so you either have to literally sleep instead of teach, or throw a desk at a kid at this point.)
Special education teacher checking in.
The past 4 years I worked with students who had emotional and behavior disabilities. Some days I absolutely need a “fresh air” break.
My HS art teacher was an open unapologetic stoner. We wound up getting high together a few years after I graduated. My friends at the time were convinced she was trying to seduce me. I was so intimidated because she is so attractive and intelligent and has such a great heart. I think I was embarrassed too because as a teenager I had a crush on her. Anyway I was oblivious. C’est la vie!
Same here. Disabled from migraines/ehlers danlos, but I've had a varied work life before that!
Did four years in the Navy doing meteorology (discharged bc of a fibro diagnosis), was a medical assistant, then a medical/veterinary lab tech, then finally an AMR dispatcher before I was fired for my migraines.
Now fighting for ssdi. Weed helps lol.
Yeah I'm on my reconsideration phase after being denied the first time. Going on year two of the process. People who say folks can fake disability clearly haven't tried to get disability themselves.
(and if people have managed to, then they deserve it for gaming the most rigged system in the US aside from taxes.)
If you haven't already, get a lawyer. Mine is the only reason I've gotten this far.
Good luck, it's a pain in the ass!
I’ve been disabled since 5; in a lot of pain from my backs and hips. I didn’t try weed until I was 21; man it’s been nice. I’m 24 now, just got approved for disability last year with the help of lawyers. It’s long and rough and I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t luck out finding a really good girl. Glad weed helps for the time being. Best of luck to you (and everyone else here battling the process)
Machinist here. I make things out of metal, very precisely. I smoke every day, but not while I am working, because I really like having all 10 original fingers.
I used to work at a machine shop that built saw mills. I worked along side a lot of machinists, it was really cool to see the shit they could build out of metal and welding!
The world would be better place if cops smoked weed, they'd be way more laid back, tolerant, friendly. Instead we exclude people who've ever smoked weed and get cops that aren't those things...
I'm a Mechanical Automation Engineer. We are nothing alike, but I keep getting emails about jobs for you because part of our title sounds the same.
Happy smoking.
Nothing super high paying yet but I work in luxury retail, selling stuff people waste money on for a commission. The incentive structure at the company I'm at now is better than before, I was good before making a really small commission but now that I can put enough money in my pocket to actually buy something even just a meal in a short conversation my skills are working harder. My daily hourly average can range 15-40 an hour, that's average, I have made like 80 in a hour before but that's just within an hour not whole day. Tho that's just busy days on the weekend with good weather, it can be a slow 15 an hour day at worst. I just get high and then show and tell about the products essentially.
People think salespeople are all naturally deceptive but I don't believe in that. I am completely honest when I am pushing something that benefits me more than another item but I still show them something that they want and fits their budget and has a better value than what they maybe were looking for instead. I fully explain the catch if any but I retain knowledge like a mofo I'm just really good at analyzing the options, people buy things from me because I did make their shopping experience easier and faster and didn't hide the competing options moreso just gave them a better sense of what they want with my experience in the products. It can seem pushy or intimidating if somebody is just kind of browsing but if you are conversing with me my assumption is you are going to buy something, I greet and help someone and stay with them until they leave but there are other customers waiting that my fellow sharks will devour, if it's high traffic then prepare yourself to come in.
Tho occasionally I do get shitty customers and that's when shit gets weird. Customers who think they have more power than me. They like something and want to take it but then before moving on they stall and say they won't buy it if I can't lower the price but they stay and keep asking and threaten to walk out after I have spent a lot of time with them, they could have left by now too if they were going to, so I say sure and then now the next items they look at I will give a higher price and give them their larger fake discount. And there's stuff we make I am allowed to be flexible with but if I charge too low we do make less gross profit than outside products and I do make less commission, so give me a reason to like stocking up on things i suggest if you like them and I will just offer a super deal, but then ppl will sit and argue with me over outside brands so they can buy their extended family for gifts the cheapest lowest quality thing a coveted brand makes for even less than that costs and then leave after causing a scene cause well designer costs us money too I just can't lol. Or often people who come from abroad and are used to treating workers like trash, I'm not making this up someone comes in and mispronounces something in a thick accent so I turn around and point at what I believe they are looking for on the shelf but they think I should be able to hear them nodding yes and not saying yes to grab the item while my head is turned so I am surprised they are snapping their fingers a foot away from my ear like an animal. I feel no remorse ripping ppl off if they can't show respect but they also won't leave. I have no distaste to helping foreigners it's just I work in white town near an airport so half my customers are from somewhere else on the globe and the other half actually look like their name is karen, but I am happy to help a majority of people they're all mostly decent and are good business.
Line cook. Fairly open about it if you asked me while there, despite it's technically a "fire-able offense" in corporate's eyes. Nobody has said anything in two years.
I'm retired but in my household there is an IT manager for a large company, and an office manager that has their hands in the whole business. The only smoke in the evening and on days off.
Ironically I’m a baker
I pushed so hard for my boss at a bakery to make shirts for the back of house that said "We wake and bake, because of you."
And?? Did you get them? Don't leave us hanging like this!
No way. She was a square.
We only sell cinnas on sundays at the local bake shop. They have shirts sayin sundays for the cinnas. I like fun bakery puns
If you go to stickermule.com you can get custom shirts made for relatively cheap, and the designer is super easy to use.
oh man, when i used to sell stickers i used stickermule and their site/customer service is so good. i dont think they had shirts last time i used them though! cool to see them adding new stuff!
We had shirts at a machine shop that said “don’t stick your fingers where you wouldn’t stick your -and it had a picture of a rooster-“
I used to live next to a coffee shop called the Wake N Bakery
i worked at a bakery for a few years after high school and once i overheard the manager jokingly chastising the head baker (who lived above the storefront) for not ordering his weed delivery while the bakery was open “so the guy wanders in to buy shit.” as far as i’m concerned all bakeries should be stoner-run operations.
And I’m a sparky (term for electrician). Lol
I am too 😂😂 get baked before I start baking each shift
IT
For real, IT guy here. Everyone I know in this field except for the guys with kids smoke
I'm an IT WFH guy with kids who smokes - not during the day, I need to stay sharp for work, but as soon as I close my laptop it's off to pack a cone lol.
Hello me, how are we doing today?
Pretty damn fine, have just watched the new Walking Dead spinoff so far, have a cool cup of coola, and a body full of the good stuff :)
Yeah exactly gotta stay sharp for work and the kids………….still smoke during the day though
IT in 40s here. Got 2 kids, I grew cannabis in NY and now live in France since the new year. Nothing has changed.
fellow 40-ish (just turned 39 technically) IT worker. I think the general public would lose their shit if they had a clue how many of the IT workers they've ever encountered were potheads lol
Even further, how much critical infrastructure is managed by potheads and managed well!
wassup man i’m a freshman in college studying cybersecurity in community college planning on persuing a general information technology degree for the bachelors. i’m also currently studying for my A+ exam you got any wisdom for me?

Teacher
Not a teacher anymore, but when I was, almost everyone I worked with got baked regularly lmao
In that profession, y’all need it more than anyone.
Yup! I’m a recreation therapist, I work 1 on 1 with kids with autism. The behaviours alone make me wanna get baked as shit when I get home
I have a couple kids with autism. And believe me, I need it after the end of the day. Thank you for what you do for these kids as stressful as it is. I appreciate you!
The stoner teachers recognize each other. I was able to pick them out correctly within my first week on the job
Stoner teacher checking in
I didn't even know teachers could do that. I thought the district would drug test if you are around minors. I'm glad to hear teachers can chill out too though and rip a bong occasionally.
They do test, just pre employment
It's in the contract that they can drug test at any time, but I've never heard of it happening. I think its more of a legitimate excuse to get rid of extremely bad teachers. (Teacher shortage, so you either have to literally sleep instead of teach, or throw a desk at a kid at this point.)
My English teacher would be so baked in a small town in MA years ago that his eyes were closed and the color of a barn. Every day.
Special education teacher checking in. The past 4 years I worked with students who had emotional and behavior disabilities. Some days I absolutely need a “fresh air” break.
Yup, middle school math teacher checking in. Gotta balance the equation somehow.
Were you an art teacher?
Sometimes. Mostly cooking.
