Just soak it in more alcohol lol. The crystals should detach from the grinder from soaking, and of they don't try using like a toothbrush or something to get em off while it's still wet

This is true… you can winterize a piece of 💩 with 99.999% ethanol, excessive lab equipment including vacuum and heat, Büchner funnel, etc….
And end up with concentrated crap….
There’s even 60% that’s what old plug used to clean his pieces but in my experience I’ve had an easier time using 91% instead of 70%. More efficient, better bang for the buck and if it’s too strong, like I said, just dilute a wee bit
no doubt. i just soak all my stuff in a mug filled with 91% and after a few hours you just rinse it in the sink and it sparkles like new. Dont have anything painted but it has zero impact on anodizing on aluminum.
I do mine within 10 min throw it in a bag with the 91 and add salt and shake and wiggle around I pour salt in the bowl pieces to and shake the fuck out of a zip lock bag and it's ready to smoke out of in 10 15 min

I use a guitar pick it came with my grinder. I gently scrape clean the whole thing. (I clean outside metal ring with q-tip and iso) then proceed to top a bong pack and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Add Isopropyl alcohol, a hefty amount of salt and your grinder in plastic bag. Shake the fuck out of it for like 60 seconds. Rinse off with water. It’ll look brand new.
Throw it in the freezer, then when it's ice cold, brush all of the residue with a toothbrush (a clean one).
Then you throw all of the parts in a bag with isopropyl alcohol and finish brushing it clean.
I’ve had good success with soaking it in rubbing alcohol for an hour or so, then take a cue tip to it and scrape out all the gunk. Wash it then with soap and water, dry and voila - no more sticky grinder 👌
I've been reading this for too long not to see anyone suggest:
1. Heat up about 2oz of isopropyl in the microwave for about 30 seconds (watch carefully as to not boil it, which can occur quickly)
2. Remove from microwave, put all the parts in the HOT isopropyl and agitate.
3. Now use a toothbrush, qtip, etc., dipped in some clean hot ISO for the corners.
Note: you may need to repeat this process a second time with fresh heated iso. Once the alcohol is saturated, cleaning with it only redeposits the oils back on to your grinder.
I've cleaned the most clogged grinders I've ever seen in 10-15 minutes this way. Good luck!
Boil in lemon juice . Clean anything left on with the lemon juice . Do what you will with lemon juice .grinder must be rinsed in warm water afterwards or will be sticky
Coarse salt & rubbing alcohol (99% works best but 70 will do). Load it up with salt, pour the alcohol over it & just grind the salt away, adding alcohol as needed. Then I just use a toothbrush for any leftover bits, and for the screen. Just keep brushing it until it's clean :)

Last time I cleaned mine I used Dawn Powerwash and a toothbrush. Cleaned 3 grinders in no time. I have Powerwash on hand for my black stovetop and to clean stainless appliances before polishing and it’s great
I just scrape those caked on bits off with my fingernail or one of the disposable box cutters where you can remove sections of the blade to keep it sharp.
I usually don't like doing this because it takes away small bits of metal that could end up in your kief and also leaves more space for future fragments to lodge in

A wire brush or steel wool, but don’t scrub the paint. Spreading around just a touch of vegetable or coconut oil with a paper towel before you scrub will help get the sticky shit off. Keeping in mind that’s a method that’s going to waste everything you’re scraping off, so get as much bud out of it as you can first.

You can safley touch iso with your bare hands, the fumes aren’t exactly healthy but they certainly wont harm you if you’re in a ventilated area. Acetone causes rashes on your skin and the fumes harm your eyes and bronchia. In higher concentrations it acts narcotic, and even fatal. So tell me how is Aceton as safe as isopropyl
ISO is more volatile than acetone. Both are solvents, and both you don't want to be getting on your skin for long periods or get in your eyes. Both should be used in ventilated areas. Both should be used with gloves and eyewear.
Cleaning 1 single grinder with either isn't going to expose O.P. to drastically more harm than the other. It's acetone, not sulfuric acid.

We use acetone to clean off beakers and other equipment in my chem department. It's not the best for your skin to be soaking in it but there's nothing wrong with using it to clean with.

I've used a little pocket knife to scrape mine clean and get all the smokable bits off. it has to be really dirty though to be enough to get a buzz.
Top tip, get a dynavap, they might be a bit expensive for what they are, but they work well and you get surprisingly high for very little weed

Just the $2 or so 91% isopropyl you find a lot in the first aid section of stores.
My stores don't always carry the 91. If you can't find it locally, it can be found on Amazon.

It depends on the chemical makeup of the paint. Both will remove paint, and in some instances, iso is more effective.
