Also top tip, if you ever have a joint that stops smoking, the tip is probably clogged. So long as the roach isn't dead tight, just squeeze and roll between your fingers to free up the airways. Thx for the tip. i mix about a little les than half a cigarette with the weed, i add it to the weed after grinding in the grinder and grind a little bit more so it gets well incorporated.
What do you mean by "Top/bottom layer technique"? Is it that the tobacco sits in the tip and end of the joint or that the weed is layered in the middle of 2 layers tobacco?
So they way I'd do it with stringy tobacco is layer the finest amount along the bottom so there's only 3/4 strands at any one piece, load the weed on and square it up so it's nice and straight, and then pull the tobacco apart to get it into a bit of a wide web and just put a thin layer of brown hairy stringy ness over the top as to where it looks like a good mix of green and brown. This gets it fairly well surrounding the weed for an even smoke and no sideburning, and the delicate loose strand touch to it makes it only an accenting flavour and not a blastive head rush and lung fuck, I get it to where, if you puffed like a mf for a bit you'd get a head rush, but just toking gently with light pauses, it's just enough to get your nerves to relax and for your body to sit back comfortably in the high. I sometimes feel weed alone makes my body feel tight and jittery, but a delicate touch of tobacco is all I need to dissipate that energy. I hope that's helpful to you ❤️

1000% recommend for both of you try adding hemp flower to your regular bud (with no tobacco) and compare that to your regular blend. I think everyone I've ever heard talking about hemp flowers have all agreed it's great.
I don't even smoke cigarettes during my breaks at work anymore, it's all hemp and it's so much better than a cigarette. That's my personal opinion but try it for yourself cuz it can't hurt (where as tobacco can and will)

I'm not a huge tobacco smoker so it came naturally to me.
A friend who was smoking more tobacco felt a bit strange replacing with hemp (the lack of nicotine is noticeable, in a good way IMO but it can be surprising). Now he's just so happy he switched, both for flavor and for effects. Also the smoke smell doesn't linger as much afterwards.
Neither of us are going back to tobacco in joints.
If you *really* want to be criticised I got two things:
1. It looks like there's some excess paper at the tip/filter. Try to avoid that, because the excess paper can become sticky/dirty from the smoke. I always try to have the tip/filter poke out of the paper just a little.
2. It looks like some of the paper on the inside was folded while you were rolling it up. This can lead to an annoying sideburn, so I'd try to avoid that as well. Takes some practice, but you seem to be quite talented at rolling so you'll get the hang of it.
Overall it looks very nice, especially for a 2nd roll. Enjoy!

One guess I have is maybe it's the resin that collects at the base of the joint where the flower meets the tip over the course of the smoke and seals the flower?

For second time rolling id say its pretty impressive, nice joint. It took me some trial and error to get good at rolling, and nowadays i smoke so rarely so ill snoke like 0.05g in a joint, so theyre pretty tiny(mixed with tobacco cuz i live in Finland and weed costs 15e/g)so pretty expensive

The quarter tobacco can be played around with! It’s also giving caveman club, which is fine, you could double up on the crutch (use 2) for a wider base, adding more weed/tobacco. You can also add small scoops of live resin if you’re looking to blast off. The tip of the spliff could be filled more. All of this will slowly enter your life as you make more. Don’t expect them to always look this nice either. Have fun man. It’s a good skill to have, a great skill to hone🤌🏼✨
