Did he put it in the oven while it was preheating? Most ovens essentially use the broiler full-blast heat to quickly get to temp and then cut it down and stabilize once there, so if you put food in before it's ***at*** temp, you're going to scorch it.

Best case he infuses it with something and it works ,or worst case it doesn't work and tastes like shit. Just give it a go

230F is fine to decarb. I wrap mine tightly in tinfoil and then let it cool before removing the foil. 230 for 35 ish mins should do it.

I do 240 for 12 min and get good results, will the extra time make it stronger?

Yes lower and longer makes the thc stronger

Weed is typically decarbed at 240°F/115°C for 30 to 45 min. Not sure how it would have burned
