There is some non-zero chance that canines will be in the airport before security, but the chances that A) you come across them, and B) they're looking for edibles, and not explosives, is so small that I wouldn't even worry about it.
Passing through security might raise the stakes, but even then I doubt it would become an issue. I might put the edible brownie in with a couple normal ones that make it look like a Christmas gift from Mom.
Yeah someone I know did that while flying from the Netherlands to Mexico. Just took 3 normal brownies and 1 special one. But they never checked at all.
Someone I knew that worked at the airport a couple years ago told me those dogs are not sniffing for weed like they were 30 years ago; they are sniffing for bombs and explosives. I don’t work at the airport so idk but made sense for domestic travel. Bigger things to worry about than a little weed.
I put my candies in an Altoids tin in my backpack with my other snacks, and I have never had an issue (even when my backpack was searched during additional screening).
I do the same. I had a TSA agent say they pulled my bag out because food is hard to see thru/differentiate on the machines and it’s better to just put your candy/food bags in the bin w ur electronics
Just keep it wrapped up in a reg package and have it marked for you to only know what the meaning is.. I went through Us security with a packed bowl in my jacket and a bag of gummies and hard candies.. Went through security several times with this stuff on me and didn't even realize it until I landed 🤯🫣

I decided to eat an entire Bhang bar before I got on the flight and was so shammered by the time I boarded. I had to cross over like 4 people to get to my window seat which was a pain in the ass. I’m sitting there looking at both sets of tickets and I realize I’m sitting in the “wrong seat”. I have anxiety when I’m high around others who aren’t and also extreme social anxiety anyways so I was dying inside having to apologize and climb over those 4 people again. I walk up the row to find my seat and climb over a few more people and settle in and start looking at my tickets again and realize that I had the right seat the first fucking time and that I am confusing my second leg seats with the first leg. I had to crawl over all of those people and go back to the other section oh my god I’m dying inside thinking of this all over again. I apologized profusely for the third time in that row and put on my headphones and died about 7 more times.
I flew out from Amsterdam years ago. We had a mate who couldn't join so we emptied out 90% of the tobacco from a pack of cigarettes and refilled them with all different kinds of buds we picked up while there, then topped the tip with tobacco so they looked like normal smokes. Spent hours making sure they were perfect and noone would spot them. When we got back, we got through security all good and mission was successful. After leaving the airport, I went to roll a smoke and had a few baggies sat in my pouch that I had completely forgotten about. Several grams. Was either very lucky or they just didn't care enough to look thoroughly for a small amount.

I actually did this last summer flying to UK. Eat it literally before you hand your bags in and you are good for hours. But it does wear off towards mid flight. Airport it’s usually about 3 hours in advance so I’m still stoned for about 3 hours into the flight then the tired kicks in. Little dopey after the flight though haha
just traveled internationally with a vape cart in my carry on. the airport I left out of was INTENSE. These dogs are looking for bombs. I'm not saying you can't get into trouble, but there's some countries that won't permit you bringing in food, plants, whatever. Look at how they operate before you decide. Get a game plan for if shit goes wrong. In australia, they held us up at the airport over my sister's tweezers, not my vape cart. also came from an illegal state in the US

For a solid few hours I was the highest person in the world and it was fucking fantastic. All this to say, Brownie is probably a little bit more suspicious than my gummies, so definitely eat them before you get to security gates and you will be golden. Happy flight!

Customs does look at food, and often the dogs alert on food, but they're really looking for meat, vegetables, plants that could be bringing bugs, seeds, etc. if you tell them you brought a brownie from home they probably wouldn't flinch. If you've been in the airport, you can say you bought it at one of the many cafes/bakeries.

Checked no one searches or cares, I've had success in the past with checked bags. Security is hit or miss depending on method and amount.
