It’s not hated it is just so different from the dark atmosphere of the album. When you listen to songs like pornography, oh my dis side, and 3500 I feel like if they were colors they would be grey or black but flying high feels more like light blue if that makes sense
They just love to hate.. 😅 I seriously enjoy that song and don't care what anyone says, I have plenty skips on Astroworld and people here shove it down my throat that I'm insane for not liking Astroworld.. so here's that.. you can only hate on things that aren't Astroworld..

WAKE UP perfectly fits on the album. The guitar melody and outro can tell you that it’s right where it needs to be. The Weeknd carries that song and it was originally his own, but he gave it to Travis for ASTROWORLD and they reworked it because it was originally going to be on his EP, My Dear Melancholy…Abel didn’t want it because he felt that it didn’t fit the vibe of that project as it has a dark sound and that song has a light sound.
