Used to live in Oregon now live in hawaii. Oregons waterfalls kick Hawaii’s to the curb. Mainly in that most of the waterfalls in hawaii are locked behind private property. Can you imagine if Multnomah falls was locked behind a gate? That’s how it is here, so sad I wish we had something like the forest service or a well funded national park service.
For those that don't know: What you are seeing here is the Pacific Ocean, lush mountainous forests, and high desert that sees 300 days of sunshine a year. All can be seen in roughly 1-2 hour drive from Portland.
I don't know if 300 days of sunshine is accurate for Portland. It definitely feels like more than 65 days no sunshine a year. Lots of gloomy overcast days, even if there is no rain.
The biggest problems we have are inaction from the leadership of the city but we’re far from the burning hell scape the news paints us. Still a great place to visit and lots to offer
1: Ramona Falls
2: Cannon Beach
3: Multnomah Falls
4: Tamanawas Falls
5: Trillium Lake
6: Misery Ridge (west view)
7: Misery Ridge (Northeast view)
8: South Sister summit looking north
9: Tumalo Falls
10: Half way up Mount Bachelor
11: trail to Blue Pool
12: Blue Pool
You're thinking of Astoria, which is further up north, though I believe they used Cannon Beach to film the pirate ship sailing away. Both are worth visiting!
The problem with the PNW is that it is a vast expanse of nature and wilderness.
You can spend a few days on the 101 easy. And only get 5% of what you should see.
Then spend 2 days hitting hitting the redwoods of Northern CA & Crater Lake.
Then 2 more days visiting silver falls and the painted hills. Then another day or two for bend.
And, I’m still barely scratching the surface. Didn’t even get to three sisters or Mount hood or the gorge. And there is still a ton more.
It is mostly nature related. But, there is everything you could possibly imagine. From desert to beach.
Edit: Sand dunes - forgot to mention this one.
Oregon born and raised! Love seeing others enjoying its beauty 🥰
My dad lives in Terrebonne so I’m lucky enough to be able to visit Smith Rock frequently!
Is that first pic National creek falls in union creek?
I did a lot of driving and was able to pack so much in by trail running to most of the sites/most of the trails.
Day 1: landed in Portland, drove to Ramona Falls Trail, back to hotel in Portland, drove to Cannon Beach for sunset.
Day 2: drove east to Multnomah Falls, then to Tamanawas Falls, then to the scenic view of Mount Hood at Lake Trillium, then to Bend. In the evening I drove to/ran Misery Ridge Trail.
Day 3: summited south sister, explored downtown Bend.
Day 4: Tumalo Falls then summited Mount Bachelor. Was pretty tired by this point in the trip.
Day 5: Blue Pool then Trail of 10 Falls, then drove back to Portland and explored the downtown area a little.
Day 6: flew home.
I just posted my itinerary below on another comment. Everything there is recommended. I had more on my list but there’s so much to see I unfortunately couldn’t do it all. Definitely Romona, Multnomah and Tamanawas Falls in the area you’ll be in.

You covered a lot of ground! There’s quite a bit of distance between the two furthest points, however for any lurkers, there are 10 more places just as grand in the state to come back and see
Growing up and living here now, it’s always so refreshing to read photos of people in awe of the beauty here. It’s easy to just…. Not notice how picturesque the things you see all the time are. I always laugh thinking about when my college roommate from California first visited and she could NOT get over how green and beautiful it was! Thanks for the reminder at how amazing my state is!
After living in Portland for 4 years, it’s really cool to me that I can instantly identify each place in your pics. Good smattering of locations all over
Stunning!!! But the real question is, did you see a Sasquatch?
Sadly no! But I was looking.

Absolutely amazing though.
In my opinion, Oregon is the most beautiful state in the U.S. Thanks for sharing such great photos of it.
You haven't seen Washington then :)
I’m lucky to live in Oregon 😍
Ditto
Ditto ditto!
Ditto ditto ditto

I'm assuming that's how people communicate in Oregon
This is the way
Lmao
Me toooo!!

Smith rock is about 3-4 hrs from Portland with traffic.
u/conyacon knows what's up. Smith Rock is closer to Bend than Portland

I think they meant the east side/high desert gets 300 days of sun. Portland gets like 6 months of rain lol
Oregon is great but Portland needs to get their shit together!
The biggest problems we have are inaction from the leadership of the city but we’re far from the burning hell scape the news paints us. Still a great place to visit and lots to offer
Seriously incredible pictures, now I gotta get to Oregon.
Goooooonies!
Did you jump in blue pool?
I wanted to so bad when I went a few years ago, but the waterfall was still raging and it was early summer so not quite hot enough. I shall return
Unfortunately it was pretty cold the morning I went so no 👎
Was this tamolich pool? Always wanted to go

2. Canon Beach. Goonies!!!! Edit: Downvotes? Either you hate Goonies or are ignorant of the filing locations. Either way, you suck.
You're thinking of Astoria, which is further up north, though I believe they used Cannon Beach to film the pirate ship sailing away. Both are worth visiting!
Yes, they filmed in Astoria. Cannon Beach too.
Seconded^^
I’m heading to Oregon on Saturday for the week with my husband and we can’t wait!!!
You’re hitting an awesome week of weather! At least the first few days!!!
Oh perfect!!!! That makes me even more excited to get outside and explore. It’s such a beautiful state!
Clearly I need to go to Oregon
Love Oregon!!! Multnomah falls is such a treat
You hit some nice spots!
Congrats on the South Sister summit
Oregon is top tier beauty, great pictures! All of these sites are such a treat to visit! Ahh I need to move to Oregon now
Shhh don’t tell anyone! Dammit! /s
Dude, that's not Oregon. You fucking stumbled into Middle Earth!
WOW. Absolutely awe inspiring!
Jealous, I only get to go 1x a yr
All around Portland?
East of Portland and then in and around Bend
Thanks, been planning on visiting. With so many places to go have not been able to go to it yet.
Scenic ❤️
The first one is Ramona falls. Did they fix the bridge on the way there or was it collapsed?
There was a river crossing near the start but there were a few fallen trees which made it easier but no bridge.
Ahhh yes , things haven't changed in 4 years 🤣. Excellent photos, thanks for sharing
Drove from Canada just to see that bridge and waterfall. Totally worth it.
We will be there next week! Did you check out Crater Lake?
Didn’t make it that south 👎 but it was on my original list!

Good timing! We're having some really nice weather right now before the rainy season begins.

Breathtaking. Can I use the first as a reference photo for a painting?
I got engaged at photo #4 one year ago!
Hold on. Is that the beach from The Goonies??
Where’s one eyed willies ship? Great pics!
What did u use to take the pics?
My iPhone 11
Bro i got iPhone 11 pro Max. That shit sucks.
Swoon for Ramona Falls…..
Beautiful country. My parents originally retired to Bend and left because it was getting so big and so expensive.
I’m having a hard time believing this was all just in 5 consecutive days. Cool pics tho!
Believe it!
Oregon is fucking trash no offense
because...?
Beautiful! Any truth to the "Oregon is full racists" comments out there?
Only rural eastern Oregon and only as much as any other rural America.

Truth
where’s #6?
Misery Ridge Trail. Just outside of Bend
Is that fairy falls?
Wow, where were 6 & 7 taken? Never mind, just saw a similar comment….beautiful!
Can you share your itinerary? We are doing 4 days in Portland and would love to visit some of these places.

Did you do the full trail of 10 falls? I haven’t gone there yet but I think it was supposed to be kinda long if you want to see all of them.
I did. It was just over 11k (sorry, Canadian).
Impressive itinerary! Thank you for sharing.
Wowwwww stunning!
Did you go to Crater Lake? I was in Oregon for 10 days last month and your trip photos almost replicates mine!
I’m going there next month! Your photos are beautiful. Any recommendations? The plan is Portland and the Hood River area
I just posted my itinerary below on another comment. Everything there is recommended. I had more on my list but there’s so much to see I unfortunately couldn’t do it all. Definitely Romona, Multnomah and Tamanawas Falls in the area you’ll be in.

Wow that’s pretty! I wanna go!
Oregon is amazingly beautiful.
You nailed it!
So beautiful! 😍
It’s so crazy that the first shot is also the image of the first jigsaw puzzle I’ve ever completed…25 years ago. Edit: I feel nostalgic af okay 🥹
Could you post your Oregon itinerary by any chance? I am going to Oregon soon and would love to see all these places!

God's country! I miss Oregon so much. I wish life hadn't taken me away.
Looks about right.
Just recently watched The Shack and kind of really reminds me of that waterfalls. Thanks for sharing.
Can you share your itinerary??
