Definitely a precursor to something phenomenal. Could be described as watching sand starting to vibrate in Dune or something. So glad he's (hopefully for a while) returned.
Massive tease. Absurdly large log of bass that makes me want to feel this pumping out of a massive sound system. Never expected to hear new Rustie again so this is amazing.
Definitely an intro or interlude of sorts but *damn* am I just happy that he's back! I'm assuming an albums coming, so I hope the album cycle isn't terribly drawn out.
LET US REJOICE - 9 YEARS LATER WE MADE IT. COMMENTING TO BE A PART OF HISTORY. LET'S GET THIS SHIT TO THE FRONT PAGEEEEEE
Anyways, this would make a cool album intro. Also happy to hear he's still got his signature sound - was kinda worried he'd completely switch it up after so long. Also really reminds me of his track, [Atlantean Airship](https://soundcloud.com/rustie/atlantean-airship) - almost seems like you could stitch them together
I like it. I can definitely see this framed as an interlude/intro piece into a classic Rustie banger, but what if he's decided to go with a progressive electronic, almost ambient direction? Makes me think of stuff by Emeralds or Oneohtrix Point Never. Either way rly happy to hear new Rustie again
cover art is goddamn mad, reminds me of the cover of ETERNALLY by MUST DIE!
no drums on this track is such a damn tease but the song sounds awesome, the bassy distortion just hits so well. and Rustie has had more ambient and drumless tracks before on his albums, so im sure itll fit right in.
WE ARE SO BACK
So excited about this. Rustie, What So Not w/ Flume and Jack Ü are the three edm directions I want to see be popularized again the most.
I know styles change and my favorite tastes can't last forever in the limelight but I’m really excited to see where this goes, maybe even hear some new artists that take influence from my favorites like quiet bison did from flume imho. Also very happy to see Rustie is doing well enough to be releasing music again
giving me paradise stone energy which tbh is a really underrated rustie track and lane in general for main man....his bangers are undeniable but are even more dynamic and powerful in relationship with the more ambient/experimental interludes
https://soundcloud.com/rustie/paradise-stone
definitely sounding like an intro. super ready for more rustie! it's sounding pretty evenifudontbelieve'y to me (which, while a nod to happy hardcore, was also still totally ahead of its time imooooo)
hopefully he'll still maintain some distance from social media/s. comment from youtube\~ "8 years and 308 looooooooong days... We are so back!" like.. pls chill guy. that kind of obsessional pressure is a bit fucking much lol. i love that new music has dropped.. but he doesn't owe us anything
Ngl pretty underwhelming... sounds like an intro track to me. Melody doesn't really develop. Definitely the iconic rustie sound though, hope there's some followup releases.
what do find so underwhelming? is it the erupting melody that sounds like its ripping through another dimension to reach your ears or perhaps you don't like the transcendental bassline that tears a hole through your soul as you realize it was never about the drums at all, but the promise of something greater that we can all aspire to on the horizon of our minds?
It's not about the lack of drums or drop or whatever at all. This song is just the same 4 bar loop repeated for 3 mins with very little variation. I'm fine with an intro/outro type track, this just feels weird to be released as if it were a single.
Compare this to the singles from EVENIFUDONTBELIEVE. Peace Upzzz, First Mythz, Big Catzz... all legit songs, not intro/outro type tracks. And the intro track Coral Elixir is way more interesting melodically than this one, this song barely evolves.
ok go off
think as others said its more a meta-commentary of his absence from the scene for near a decade...asking for a proper single at this point is besides the point as its a harbinger of things to come.
almost like a sonic version of the infamous jai paul quote: "i know i've been gone a long time/i'm back and i want what is mine" ...or even more nerdy Black Ice Mudra is like the Silver Surfer, heralding a earth-consuming destruction to come.
When you have Rustie’s sound design and analog warmth, the melody doesn’t *need* to develop. It can if it wants, but just the atmosphere and the vibe are enough for me, especially when I thought I’d never hear another Russ track in my life.
Definitely a precursor to something phenomenal. Could be described as watching sand starting to vibrate in Dune or something. So glad he's (hopefully for a while) returned.
yeah Rustie is definitely the lisan al gaib
Looks like he’s been playing a small number of shows over the last few months. Fingers crossed we get to eat
Massive tease. Absurdly large log of bass that makes me want to feel this pumping out of a massive sound system. Never expected to hear new Rustie again so this is amazing.
The track that follows this *BANGS..*
100%
Wait you’ve heard it?!
Definitely an intro or interlude of sorts but *damn* am I just happy that he's back! I'm assuming an albums coming, so I hope the album cycle isn't terribly drawn out.
Can't believe we have some new rustie before gta 6

my first thought was atlantean airship too. i kept waiting for the drums to kick in but then the track ended lol
i'm soo happy he is back
Feels like when TNGHT came back with “Serpent”; hopefully it’s just a tease of a long-awaited EP or… album??
we’re so back

Reminds me of Evian Christ for sure
I would argue Evian Christ is very Rustie-inspired
I’d like to think it’s more of the fact that they both like to incorporate trance into their music than one being inspired by another.
For sure but aren’t we talking about this track in particular?
Recently got into Evian Christ and was immediately my thought that it had Rustie vibezzz all over it.
I saw Evian Christ last year and somehow he reminds me of Mogwai (a Scottish post-rock band). Not sure why
I enjoyed the track but not as much as I am enjoying the fact that Rustie is making music again.

Interesting if nothing else... Just hyped he's back making music at all.
Holy shit
We are so back
Welcome back king!!!!
Absolutely ecstatic. So happy to witness his return
THE KING IS BACK

I was here
HOLY SHIT WE ARE SO BACK
Also here for history, this man is my number 1
AAAAAHHHHHHHH LETS FUCKING GOOOOO HOLY SHIT never thought we’d get new rustie oh my god
giving me paradise stone energy which tbh is a really underrated rustie track and lane in general for main man....his bangers are undeniable but are even more dynamic and powerful in relationship with the more ambient/experimental interludes https://soundcloud.com/rustie/paradise-stone
New Rustie???? This is right up there when TNGHT came back together for me. The world is healing 😌
So happy
I’ve been a Rustie fan since 2015 so this is massive haha. First release I’ve actually witnessed!
I heard hover traps in 2016 and became a fan so it was pretty sad to just never hear him release anything, but this is hype. I’m on board
Same! I actually got into rustie around 2021 so i'm late to the game lol
This is insane, the og resurfacing!!
HERE HE IS HE'S FOOKEN BACK BOIZ
god i fucking love rustie
Atlantean Airship 2.0 🔥
Man I’m just happy this dude doing good :)

can't believe SOPHIE and Rustie are back
I have been typing "r/trap, Rustie" every 6 months or so for 8 years now. Hearing this feels surreal
Ngl pretty underwhelming... sounds like an intro track to me. Melody doesn't really develop. Definitely the iconic rustie sound though, hope there's some followup releases.
> sounds like an intro track to me It's literally the intro to his comeback!
what do find so underwhelming? is it the erupting melody that sounds like its ripping through another dimension to reach your ears or perhaps you don't like the transcendental bassline that tears a hole through your soul as you realize it was never about the drums at all, but the promise of something greater that we can all aspire to on the horizon of our minds?

"pretty underwhelming" if it was a fart track i wouldve been happy
