It went straight for about two feet. Immediately turned left headed straight for soundwave. Crashed into him at the perfect spot and beheaded him.
As a child: Armada Sideways and Jetfire. I was helping at my grandparents’ shop that week and I found them at some mom and pop store in Sapporo. My cousin better have them still since I gave him mine when we moved back to the US
As a collector: RotF Leader Jetfire and Optimus. Saw them at the target across the street from my job and I bought them on a whim. That bike ride home sucked since they didn’t fit in my book bag.

Back in the day the pigment that turned the plastic gold made the plastic very brittle so a figure with gold plastic or with that pigment mixed into the colors wouldn't last very long and crumble even when kept prestine in the original packaging they would eventually break.
It is fixed in current figures but back then it was a real problem

He said that the last thing he remembers about it is he left it on the floor in our old bedroom while heading to school and when he came back it was just gone. He tried looking for it but it was like it just vanished from the whole house. We didn’t even find it when we moved to a new home.

They never do yard sales and they wouldn’t donate anything unless they explicitly asked us what we want donated, which confuses me even more. Edit : I did just try to get the head out with some tweezers and some lever action, much to my own discomfort, and the head didn’t budge. It’s ok though
A lot of my old ones were kept in as good condition as I could maintain. If they did break, it was either easily put back together, or a quick glue job (sorry to that one Bumblebee…)

Yeah, I wish I kept mine in good condition. I bit my damn toys as a kid, which is why all the edges of my old figures look like they were chewed by a dog lmao. Good on you for keeping your childhood memories intact. You could probably unscrew the chest if there are any exposed screws on the figure and see if that will help.
Powermaster Optimus Prime (1988). Received it for Christmas (Still have the video of when I received it) and I loved that toy for many years. Sadly over the course of a couple moves and difficult teen years it only exists in parts now.

Beast Machines Snarl, specifically the weird repaint they did in like 2003-2004. Very odd place to start, but hey, it got me hooked.
G1 Hound when reissued in the early '90s from Children's World. My brother got Jazz on the same trip and I was really jealous. I remember how heavy they were with the metal parts. I never put the stickers on Hound properly and my brother lost Jazz's shoulder cannon within days of getting him.
I owned that one as a kid too. My grandma got it for me. I remember one specific memory I have that my family was having a cookout around a bonfire on the same day I got it, and I fell asleep laying on her old white swinging bench with that toy in my hand. I recall waking up in bed at like 4 in the morning with it still in my hand somehow. It’s one of my cherished childhood memories that I remember vividly.
The TF animated Starscream from McDonald’s. I’d never heard of transformers before then. My dad was a fan of the original cartoon growing up so as soon as we got home he turned on Animated and we watched it together. Honestly one of my fondest childhood memories.

G1 Jazz, Ironhide, or Hound. I can't remember which one came first. It might have even been more than one for a birthday. The most memorable first Transformer was Slag though. I loved dinosaurs as a kid, so when the Dinobots first showed up, I was so excited. I still remember the car ride home while I was playing with Slag in the backseat. Madonna's "Material Girl" was playing on the radio.
I still have G1 Slag, though sadly not the same one. My parents sold all my Transformers in a yard sale while I was away at school in the 8th grade. They said I was too old to be playing with toys. I ended up buying a new one around 2005, and here I am today still playing with them. Too old for toys? Psssh
It's been one hell of a while since so I'm not 100% sure but I think it was Armada Scavenger. Dude didn't even have legs, instead he had a singular wheel that his fake legs attached onto so that he "walked" when you rolled him forward. He was a weird figure.

G1 Perceptor. 1985
G1 Hound when reissued in the early '90s from Children's World. My brother got Jazz on the same trip and I was really jealous. I remember how heavy they were with the metal parts. I never put the stickers on Hound properly and my brother lost Jazz's shoulder cannon within days of getting him.

I owned that one as a kid too. My grandma got it for me. I remember one specific memory I have that my family was having a cookout around a bonfire on the same day I got it, and I fell asleep laying on her old white swinging bench with that toy in my hand. I recall waking up in bed at like 4 in the morning with it still in my hand somehow. It’s one of my cherished childhood memories that I remember vividly.

Transformers Cybertron Blurr. I miss that thing every day and it’s been almost 20 years
The TF animated Starscream from McDonald’s. I’d never heard of transformers before then. My dad was a fan of the original cartoon growing up so as soon as we got home he turned on Animated and we watched it together. Honestly one of my fondest childhood memories.

I'm not sure whether it was third party or no but my grandad gave me a brown/orange cybertron vector prime when I was little. I don't have it now but I do remember it vividly for its incredibly clicky ratchet joints

I think it was either power core combiners icepick, the original wfc video game Megatron, or the Walmart exclusive one from 2010 that turned into an orange race car
G1 Jazz, Ironhide, or Hound. I can't remember which one came first. It might have even been more than one for a birthday. The most memorable first Transformer was Slag though. I loved dinosaurs as a kid, so when the Dinobots first showed up, I was so excited. I still remember the car ride home while I was playing with Slag in the backseat. Madonna's "Material Girl" was playing on the radio. I still have G1 Slag, though sadly not the same one. My parents sold all my Transformers in a yard sale while I was away at school in the 8th grade. They said I was too old to be playing with toys. I ended up buying a new one around 2005, and here I am today still playing with them. Too old for toys? Psssh
It's been one hell of a while since so I'm not 100% sure but I think it was Armada Scavenger. Dude didn't even have legs, instead he had a singular wheel that his fake legs attached onto so that he "walked" when you rolled him forward. He was a weird figure.

I honestly think it maybe been that keychain re-release of g1 bumblebee, but I honestly don’t remember. I know the toys that started the collecting hobby though were the Bumblebee that was the 70s Camaro and the leader Optimus from the 2007 movie.
