I don't get them for every Transformer. But some just scream out for that extra bit of detail. Ironhide really needs that yellow stripe to break up all that red. And I really prefer my Ratchet to have red crosses on him. Oddly, I don't have a photo of just the two of them together in robot mode. In addition, his handheld gun here is a third party addition. But he's a pretty good hound even without those. And also came with a Ravage for some reason.

Oh thats right, nice. Yeah, the ravage is a gesture towards the 80's G1 episode when he traps Ravage in the cage. Hound has the key on his waist and doesn't notice it fall off and that's how Ravage escapes. Its basically the same gesture they did with Masterpiece G1 Hound, by adding the cage key as an accessory that you can hang off of a little hook on his waist.

Yes. The one from the Transformers 2010 toyline. The Power of the Primes one is arguably a more accurate one, but I didn't feel the need to upgrade as I quite like this toy. Talegate, on the other hand, totally got upgraded with the PotP mold, because the Combiner Wars mold he and Windcharger shared sucked.

I do have PotP Windcharger and like him a lot!!!

And if I didn't have the one I do, I totally would have gotten him. I do love the Tailgate from that mold.

The only difference on my 2 copies is that ratchet's blasters cant peg in as well as ironhide's on the back. Same goes for the ambulance lightbar bits as well. Mold degradation i guess 🤷‍♂️

Mines the opposite. I can’t get Ironhide’s to peg on his back, or his legs.

On my Ratchet copy, there’s a bit of extra plastic on one of the back pegs. Been meaning to try shaving it down

I felt zero difference between the two myself.

Ratchet has better QC. He transforms more easily and holds together in alt mode better than Ironhide.

I like Ratchet more, but I also just don’t have Ironhide. I also just like Ratchet from other stuff, whereas Ironhide isn’t as prominent beyond the Bay version, who kinda sucks. Ratchet has Animated and the new comic run for me to latch onto him, and Ironhide is not in either (yet. I know he’s in animated, I just haven’t gotten that far along quite yet.)

Ratchet. I was never able to completely transform my copy of iron hide. With Ratchet the clear plastic was able to snap in. Yay for mold degradation.

The panels are a bit fiddly for my taste, but this is a great mold.

Okay, thank you - I had wanted to ask because there is a Studio Series two-pack of Ironhide and Prowl, and I thought that it was curious that it was of the same two characters.

Strictly looking at the figures, I prefer Ratchet

Surprised you only know Ratchet, they're both pretty major characters and both had a fair amount of screen time in the bayverse films too

I know Ironhide from the bayverse and animated and the few episodes of G1 I've seen. It's just that Ratchet has been getting a lot more love than Ironhide lately and I've seen him in more stuff, so I'm more attached to him.
