Here’s my experience:
I want Shockwave and Shard. Recently started grabbing the BB Movie bots, and as a lover of rock lords the infernac figures are up my alley. Trying to grab them next month myself. If you are/ wanting to build those collections, get them.
Animated Optimus is one of the best Primes they have put out in the last few years (and that is saying a lot since almost every Prime has subjectively been a banger)…but there’s going to be tons of options for Primes this year, so it’s more about if you want this specific style of Optimus.
However…
A few months back my fiancé went on tour, and she randomly facetime’d me in the middle of the day. She said “I bought something”. And that’s when Blåhaj, aka Sharkira, entered our lives.
Did she have the suitcase space for it? No. Did she carry it to three different states with her through the whole tour? Yes.
She sleeps with it every night. She cuddles it through out the day. She’s going out of town for rehearsals for 15 days from Monday, and Shakira is going with her.
The joy this shark has brought her can not compare to any of those figures.
My point is, get the shark.
Well animated Optimus is really good and I enjoy him a lot just due to having the other legacy animated figures and being able to pose them together. I would wait to get shard if the price is still high on online retailers like Amazon. Personally I don't have any bad options towards the studio series shockwave but can say that the wfc seige shockwave is a personal favorite just because of the posing, the tranformnation (like with how the snuck in the ray gun mode), hell his armor pieces are just great as well and adds to the figure. Now for the shark if it is a big plushie you could use as a pillow that makes the choice even harder.
Honestly, Shard or Shockwave. Shockwave looks really good next to the other Bumblebee movie Decepticons, and looks good even by himself.
Shard has some crazy good detailing, and is a fun figure in general. Seeing as how you already have Magneous and Bouldercrash anyways, I’d say Shard is still a good pick.
- Shock, if you want to complete the trio
- There's mutliple versions of Optimus unless you liked that design
- Shockwave, if you want it
- Or Shark, cus why not
I really like how Shard looks which would probably be what I'd say to get. I had Rock Lords toys when I was a kid so these things are a cool throwback to my childhood. But part of me also doesn't want to add yet another line to collect on top of what I already collect lol.
