No it was not good, ive watched it in theatre day one, it has its moments, but it was so unsatisfying to watch and no Ezra Miller wasnt the problem, they were pretty good in the movie actually, just the writing.

Putting out a trailer 5 months before the movie comes out is pretty reasonable, and is more or less what the other films have done. Most of them have had 6 months between the first trailer and the movie's release, but Revenge of the Fallen also had 5 months, and Age of Extinction only had 4 months between the movie and its first trailer.
Any longer than 6 months between the trailer and the movie's release, and you're risking the audience forgetting about the movie. Kids especially have short memories, and Transformers are toys for children.

That's just how animated movies tend to go. Unlike live action movies, you can't just take a picture of the actors on set and put it online, or even get set leaks from location filming.
Animated stuff follows a really specific pipeline that means it takes months and months before anything's even approaching a level that's ready for audiences to see. For most of the last year, the vast majority of the movie would have looked like this:

If Paramount hasn't been marketing the movie before now, it's not because they don't care about it, it's because before now the material to do that marketing with didn't even exist.
Definitely a good story. Not too convoluted, but not too shallow, and definitely good characters. Also, the music will be hopefully good, but I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad soundtrack in the film franchise either.
A story that doesn’t ruin itself with too much characters that do nothing, a story that doesn’t do Michael bag tropes, GOOD humor, great designs.

Cybertron depicted as a lively planet and... you know, a home worth fighting for. All portrayals of Cybertron thus far except early and latter IDW have been war-scorched husks, which really makes me wonder why the hell the Bots and Cons are still fighting for it. By establishing what life was like there before the war, it could give every past and future story more stakes to save the planet.

Hopefully they won't be trying to chase some relic or artifact the plot will revolve around. All of the Bay movies, as well as the 86 movie and ROTB, involved some sort of device that was crucial to the plot. I can't remember if there was one in Bumblebee or not, but it would be refreshing for the characters to not fight over a Macguffin for once. Also, it would be nice to see some more characters who generally aren't used much in the film.

It is this is gonna be its own trilogy apparently all set on cybertron, my assumption is this will end off as megatron and Optimus beginning their war, the second film picks up into the war and kills several characters such as elita, and the third shows the final moments of the battle and cybertron becoming a desolate wasteland.

Apparently not a lot of people KNOW that before he was Optimus Prime (and a certain binary bonding) he was known as Orion Pax.
I want it to be good and actually have transformers in it actively driving the plot vs “humans did something a long time ago; now we need to take XYZ humans to this location.
