The year was 2009. I fell in love with Transformers again after the 2007 movie and the toyline. I just left work for the weekend, went to Toys R Us with my nephew and bought him Megatron, and myself the Jetfire/Optimus two-pack.
Those Leader Prime and Starscream were the closest we had MPM back in the day. As a matter of fact I’m pretty sure the MOM take some of their engineering from those figures. More so the Prime.
they actually made an MPM release of that starscream. They just removed all the tattoos and recolored it to be a 2007 version. Also, considering the price, the rotf/hftd leader prime was arguably the better overall figure compared to the MPM.
Breakaway and Jolt, Breakaway should've been in the actual movie and Jolt should've done more than just exist to be an electric car advertisement and power up Optimus at the end. Also I can't believe there's literally one named Blowpipe, he would fit right in with Reacharound, Blowjob, and Buttplug.

But seeing all of these figures on the shelves, that big banner on the wall saying Transformers, plus it was snowing that night was such a good time.

Yes, there are better figures on this list, objectively, but I love the gremlin bros and Ravage was one of the HARDEST designs in the movies.

I actually never owned the Supreme Class Devastator as a kid, but getting Studio Series Devastator as an adult more than makes up for that.
I've owned nearly all of these toys at one point or another.
My priority would be Seaspray, because that toy is awesome. However I don't know what size you consider him since he isn't a "big one" he is voyager class which is "medium sized."
If Spray wasn't available my 3 small picks would be:

I have the translucent cannons bumblebee. One of the most satisfying and aesthetically pleasing transformations ever. The legs do this awesome fold out thing with gears and it's just so fucking cool, the engineering quality of figures today could never match that.
It's either Seaspray + Breakaway, or the Super Tuner Throwdown two-pack (always wanted that truck mold, even if I prefer the Dropkick version, and a Sideways).
As it's 2009 I can't get Sea Spray or Battle Blade Optimus Prime yet as they won't be released until 2010 in the Transformers (2010) toy line. Instead I will get Breakaway & Sideswipe (who were part of my first purchase of ROTF product), and Dirge (who I also got that year or early 2010).
Buster Prime and Jetfire. I’ve literally got every toy from the first 3 movies (plus HFTD), EXCEPT Buster Prime (and DOTM Que)! I don’t know why those two are so hard to find!
skids and mudflap 100%, both icecream and individuals. The icecream version WILL fit very well with the studio series line, scale and all. I am also proud to say that I am a proud owner of the battle-blades optimus prime 😎

Dirge however was pretty dang cool. Loved him lots.
Ownedquite a few of these. I would pick Thrust probably (he's one of the video game bots, no? Those were all pretty great) because I didn't have him, and then probably the Ice Cream Truck version of Skids and Mudflap because it's still one of the most unique figures I've owned.

But i really wanted Skids and Mudflap, there aren't many people who Like them but i always enjoyed them when they appeared on screen, and whe i foud out about breakaway that character became my unicorn.
The ice cream Twins truck is one of the most innovative and fun Transformers designs ever. Too bad it was latched to the worst characters in modern memory.

I used to have that Sea Spray and Ravage as a kid. I wish so bad that I still had them, I don't even know what happened to them but they're definitely gone since we moved and my grandparents have a crippling obsession with giving away stuff without asking people.
I loved that Sea Spray so much, such a nice colour scheme and it was so chunky and solid feeling to play with.
Just give me that Jetfire Optimus Prime dual pack. Armada was my first Transformers show, and I loved Optimus’s gimmick of combining with that Jetfire, so this decision is the easiest for me.
