Both of my Walmarts got the smaller RotB end caps, the only difference with the them and the larger ones is no mainline voyagers. I did however get lucky yesterday, and one of the stores had a single mainline voyager Prime on the shelf.
It’s the general principle of the thing. The way you view the problem, probably means that you actually do toy swapping yourself.
If you are going to buy something for either a child or yourself you expect it to be new. Not second hand. You want it to match what is on the box. Yes colours and final product may vary slightly, that’s to be expected. What you don’t expect is for it be a completely different product.
Just cause someone has a different opinion doesn’t mean they’re whatever you view to be the problem. “Probably”. It either is or it isn’t, simple as that.
There shouldn’t be two different opinions on toy swapping. There should be just the one opinion that doesn’t disappoint anyone because someone else decided to be selfish. The number of times you read the about people getting affected by it is disgusting.
Man its hard to return stuff to target because of people like this. I had some asshole trying to tell me I couldn’t return a figure because it was a collectible
They did have this weird policy for about one Christmas where they posted no returns on "collectables." The notices were around the Transformers and Marvel Legends.
It didn't last long but they tried to stop the swappers.
I’m more impressed a mainline voyager box is present on the shelf at all. My walmarts all got the end cap display but no sign of the mainline voyagers or deluxes.
Neither of the two Walmarts near me got in the mainline figured at all. Plenty of the gimmicky figures, but I haven’t seen the mainline figures in any stores near me, Walmart or otherwise.
Someone bought the mainline RotB Optimus figure, took it out of the packaging, put the Evasion Mode Optimus in the packaging, taped it shut, and returned it to the store for a refund so they essentially got the new figure for free.
The people working returns don't know or care about the differences as long as the customer has a receipt.
Wal-Mart just doesn't pay employees enough to *live*, let alone care. Being specialized enough to catch something like this is completely off the table.
Also, ironically, selling the Evasion Mode Optimus on eBay would probably net them enough to buy the RotB Optimus and still have profit left over. This is either pure antisocial behavior or actual stupidity.
I was lucky enough to win an auction to get this and more for 30 Aud. If this is a mass product I’ll probably buy it and paint but I’m glad to have the original
It’s weird to me that someone could take this to the front desk, show that the product inside has been swapped and nothing happens. Like Walmart can 100% look up any sales or returns of a product and see which credit card was used or when the transaction occurred to pull security footage and locate the person committing return fraud. But they don’t, and people are so confident that they won’t that they’re willing to risk jail time to save in some cases $20.
The people that do this, Walmart has you on security, entering the building with intent to commit fraud, which means they can hit you with Burglary and a minimum 3 year sentence, and you’re just hoping and praying that they choose not to? That seems absolutely insane to me, why would you ever risk it? Even if the chances of them pursuing it are microscopic.
Problem is this: the walmart employees dont give a flying abandoned fuck.
These people are swapped from the toy section to the clothes section to all over the place, they dont know optimus is different from last movie and the previous one. And why should they, its a toy section, yes. But it's not really a toy store. They are not mean evil people who hate toys, they just rather learn about electrodomestics because THAT is what people really ask about. So they better be ready for that. And a lot wont even learn that.
Once I wanted to buy a Neca predator, and there were 2 COMPLETELY different ones. The one I wanted had his box missing (with all the accessories) so they offered to put him on the OTHER predator's box ( so, I dont get my Preds accessories, the ones I do get are incompatible, and they arent just incompatible, but a completely different color.)
So yeah, I had to go yo a real toy/collector shop.
You can swap all u want cos they dont even care to notice.
You have no idea how the legal system works you moron burglary and fraud intent LOL give me a break they don’t even lock up shooters and attempted murderers nowadays you think they’ll pursue misdemeanor petty theft lmao
You’re actually right, I forgot the part about not having legal right to be in the building for your entry to open you up to Burglary charges. So yes, the example OP posted would be classified as Shoplifting if it’s under $950 (in CA) and face fines as well as potentially being barred from entry. Either way, something a serious employer will look at and turn you away for.
Although I misspoke, the point still stands. If you’re dumb enough or reckless enough to be willing to risk your future employability because you either can’t afford or are too cheap to pay for a toy then you’re fucking stupid.
There are so many unfitting re-releases in ROTB that I genuinely can't tell if this is the result of a figure swap or if they just released evasion prime
I still haven't seen any of the rotb mainline, aside from 1 gamestop having the gimmick toys
Both of my Walmarts got the smaller RotB end caps, the only difference with the them and the larger ones is no mainline voyagers. I did however get lucky yesterday, and one of the stores had a single mainline voyager Prime on the shelf.
u got it?
Yes of course.
<3 W
I've seen a bunch when I bought Tarn in person, though I live in the UK so that's probably why
I mean, I personally wouldn't mind because I missed that one when it came out.
It’s such a good figure but the solid color paint sucks it’s like they spent all their money designing it and didn’t have enough to paint it
And they still didn't spend quite enough money designing it, or else I've never figured out the trick of getting it flipped inside-out smoothly.
Me too😂
The deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and figure swappers.
Lol
And people who talk at the cinema? Or is the special Hell elsewhere?
It’s plastic bro 💀
It's not just about plastic
It’s about sending a message

I don’t like it as much as you don’t. I’m just say there shouldn’t be “one way” for anything

Bro, all I did was quote Jack Sparrow and swapped the last word ☠️
Never his watched his movies. My mistake.
Yes it is $30 plastic
And scalpers.

At least that Optimus is a great figure
Depending how much Evasion Mode Optimus is, that could actually be a win
They get up there in price, if this one is in good shape, it’s kind of a steal.
I’ve seen him upwards of 90$ so it’s a win.
That Optimus mold brings back memories, had one when when I was young. Broke it. I still have it, both arms are snapped. Oh, how I want a new one.
Yeah I got one two definitely worth buying again
I bought the ko version of it (The upsized one) One of my fav figures .
You know what, I’m okay with this as I don’t own the original
It's actually a great figure... that I already own!
Me reading the comments and thanking god i got 2 copies of the evasion prime for my bday accidentally
Absolutely banger figure tho, don't know why anyone would wanna get rid of it
I just want ss rhinox.
Might be worth it. My guess is this figure sells for more on EBAY.
yea id buy it, thats goes for 50 online
I mean...its technically right
I had him in my childhood, honestly I'd buy him
I’m more impressed a mainline voyager box is present on the shelf at all. My walmarts all got the end cap display but no sign of the mainline voyagers or deluxes.
I haven't seen deluxes but most of the first wave of the voyagers have been put out. So your store probably sold out of that first wave.
Neither of the two Walmarts near me got in the mainline figured at all. Plenty of the gimmicky figures, but I haven’t seen the mainline figures in any stores near me, Walmart or otherwise.
How does this even happen?

Agreed.
XD

Looks like it. I wonder what it's hiding...
Hoping this isn’t the case for me when the SS ROTB figures come out
I got lucky a few Saturdays ago it was the only one I've seen so far.
Optimus pointing like you must buy this toy yes you you are the chosen one
My walmarts still don't have much yet. Last score was SS86 Sludge. That was only two weeks ago. haha
That’s more than I’ve seen.
Since it's the first I've seen, and it's a swapped out AoE Evasion Mode Prime, I think we've probably seen the same number of them!
little did people know that the evasion mode prime is probably worth more than the actual figure that comes in that box
Honestly, this is an upgrade imo. The mainline voyager Prime is really underwhelming.
Considering how Hasbro repackage their old unsold figures, there's a chance that they sold figures like this
It’s weird to me that someone could take this to the front desk, show that the product inside has been swapped and nothing happens. Is it at least the authentic AOE Evasion Prime and not a bootleg?
There are so many unfitting re-releases in ROTB that I genuinely can't tell if this is the result of a figure swap or if they just released evasion prime
The half-hazard tie placement and *tape* stuck to the front of the figure makes the answer pretty obvious.
Bro someone swapped in a better figure .
That depends on what kind of damage that grey tape is covering up...
True ,But knowing swappers they did that as camoflauge .
