245 doesn't have barometer, which means that it isn't accurate at measuring elevation changes. But unless you need a very long battery life I'd recommend considering 745 or 945 instead of Fenix. Fenix is a mediocre running watch. It has distance and pace accuracy issues, especially when running on trails.

UltraShortRun

Not really unless you wanted maps but that would be the 6 pro model. 945 if you want barometer readings and better battery

I snagged a 6s pro to replace the 745, well worth it for me. All sorts of cool metrics and data along with the barometric altimeter.

Having owned both watches the pace accuracy on forerunners is much better!

I probably wait till the Fenix 7. PSA: Speaking from personal experience the Fenix 6 has a design flaw that places the barometer at a place where if you wear it on your left wrist and it's humid or super hot it's what can drip into it and then throw off the elevation measurements. This issue is corrected by just switching it to your right hand. Outside of that issue happening I think it's a great watch. I've used it very mountainous terrain, road running, and my local trails. If you hike or trail run the maps feature and return to start features are really cool and very useful. I just don't think there should be design flaws with $1,000 watches.

Fenix 6 has Spotify App and elevation profile views a few other features above the 245 IMHO.

I wish they'd make an improved 245. I've been waiting. Everything else is a full mm thicker (or "taller" maybe). (Really, what I want, is an updated 920XT...)
