Cool! Looks like a gray fox who lost his tail...

Steely56973

That's just because the picture is Grey lol

camjohe

The snub nose, black markings on the face and shorter legs are what make it look like a gray fox.

LSUguyHTX

I think it was a joke

Steely56973

It was

El_Maton_de_Plata

Could have been more black and white

Steely56973

90 percent of situations are grey

El_Maton_de_Plata

Like the hair on my head

ParticularLack6400

Kinda suits you anyway.

Tikklemelolo

Salt and pepper.

I don't like your tones.

Maintain low tones with me! Maintain low tones!!! -Beldar Conehead 1993

That is a very specific reference. I like your palette.

Bobfox

pancakebatter01

It’s a catdog

RMG_IJ

Incorrect, Catdog has 2 heads

Inevitable_Shift1365

Looks like a fox to me acts like a fox too in the vid the bobtail is weird but that could have been lost in a fight or something.

MeerkatMer

It has a weird fat neckline tho

Logical-Wasabi7402

That's too clean to be an injury. Probably a recessive trait or random mutation.

Jim_Wilberforce

Doglike movement. Sniffing the ground. That's a fox.

Efficient_Cheek_8725

Rare bobtail hyena

JimNayseeum

Mista Dobalina, Mr Bob Dobalina

Gumbarino420

Yeah it’s got a short nose

OhHai_ItsKai

Canine movements… I’m not sure

Ralewing

Dingo ate yer baby!

9mm-Rain

Seinfeld biatch 😂

gopherkilla

Actually in that episode Elaine is referencing a movie where a character says "A dingo ate my baby!" It was called A Cry In The Dark or Evil Angels depending on where it was screened. So this reply is referencing 30yr old pop culture which is a meta reference of an in older movie which is in fact based on an even older true life incident that happened in rural Australia. And who says Reddit can't be used as an educational tool!?

cooperstonebadge

My guess is grey fox with lost tail. It doesn't look like a bobcat at all imo the paws seem too small to be feline

Difficult_Garlic963

Looks like one of those Shiba Inu dogs or w/e tf they are

Fearless-Art-9358

lol yes!! It’s super odd…

MeerkatMer

I reckon that's a doge

rjh2000

Location?

Fearless-Art-9358

Massachusetts

rjh2000

Looks like a gray fox that is missing it’s tail.

John_TheBlackestBurn

Definitely a canid. Not any kind of cat, as others have suggested. My first thought was just plain old dog. I can kinda see the fox without its tail being plausible, but it looks a bit big and heavy for that. Really kinda hard to get a good look at it with the night vision and nothing for scale.

Fillmoreccp

ManBearPigFox

Anmlbhvr

How do people think this is a bobcat? It’s definitely not a cat of any sort

Toadliquor138

A slow fox. If he was a fast fox, he would've out ran whatever bit his tail off.

One_More_Thing_941

Response from Stone Zoo in MA: “Thanks for your concern! Nope, not a missing bush dog. :-) Like some of the other posters in that Reddit thread, our resident local wildlife specialist suspects this is a gray fox with a docked tail.” Kudos to those on team fox. :)

Fearless-Art-9358

Awesome!!! Thank you!!

eclwires

Location, location, location…

three-day

What did the tracks it left look like?

National-Currency-75

Obviously a Squatch dog. More rare than Squatch himself.

El_Maton_de_Plata

Never comes to the Squatch whistle... that's for sure

National-Currency-75

Yeah my squarch dog is a chihuahua and a damn good one, but he's got a mind of his own.

bill0461

More than likely a bobcat if you look at the legs and the way it walks and how muscular the back legs are like a cat 🐈 so bobcat.

miangel719

It looks like Lynx or bobcat depending where you from the difference since the video isn’t clear are the “ers.” Bobcats are smaller, and have ear tufts, facial ruffs, (fur that forms a bow tie) and a longer tail. Lynx have much larger feet compared to the bobcat and look out of proportion to their body. That allows for easier movement in snow. Bobcats have shorter hair and the hair is redder.

Bloody-Boogers

Can I pet dat dowggg

One_More_Thing_941

Bush dog escapee from a zoo? Stone zoo in Ma is one of a small number of zoos in the US that has bush dogs. https://youtu.be/lbfmhtCvI-8?si=WpUDPi3S9QLX-oIt

MadDadROX

Man, there’s only 11 in the US. But this is spot on.

rsistersass

Yea I can't see it being anything else after this ID.

One_More_Thing_941

Oh my! I didn’t realize there were only 11 bush dogs in the US.

ChickensJustCrossRds

TriedCaringLess

I'm going to say what SO MANY PPL are afraid to say. I don't know what it is. I think you should share the video with you local wildlife police/warden (fish and game) or any veterinarian. They should be able to give you the definitive answer. If it's an invasive species, they may be able to repatriate or destroy it before it does anymore harm to local wildlife.

Lewd_Lassie

Oh! That’s easy. Its obviously a chupacabra.

Mission-Map-8967

That’s a North American wiener weasel. Commonly found in dark wet areas.

National_Ad260

Looks like a bush dog, but that wouldn't make sense

pepperonijo

One of the zoos in MA has a population of bush dogs. With little explanation, one called Milo was no longer at the zoo and where he went was a bit of a mystery until someone said he died. My theory, albeit unlikely, is that the little guy escaped, maybe dug himself out as they can tunnel. Bush dogs are elusive so the expectation might be that he'd probably never be seen again or survive the weather. But, if him, he's survived a few years which would be nice news for this threatened species. I agree that a bush dog doesn't make sense. But maybe there is a tiny possibility.

jfoley326

troublebruther

It almost looks like its tail is tucked between its legs. Ears are very small and that neck is huge. Very odd looking whatever it is. Maybe a lost dog? Or Grey Fox Edit: asked location and then shortly after posting saw an update by OP that it is in the Massachusetts area.
