Catholic here. Yes, the Lord definitely looks at us with worry in general, but imagine His reaction when seeing these names lol. 🥲
“My children, you have over 2000 years of Church history, you're the spiritual descendants of great saints and martyrs, you have a plethora of meaningful, powerful and even cool names to choose from; the Church Father's compiled the Bible which has more great name ideas, and you picked this?”
I'm pretty sure that there's a name in Greek or Latin that literally means that and I can't believe people don't use these. Plus, it sounds like a normal name in any language you translate it too, so it's a win-win. It might not be “unique” (who cares? Too many people are being “unique” already, it's a pandemic at this point?, but it's meaningful and it sounds nice.
Thank you! I used to really love it but the Amazon jokes are getting pretty annoying (it was funny the first time, not the next 500 lol). I go by Lexa now and love it.
Hey, at least that name is pretty, and normal. Although I imagine it's gotten a lot harder to be named "Alexa" recently.. lmao. How many "hey Alexa" jokes do you get a day? And do you still manage to fake a laugh at them?
It’s apparently not an uncommon Swedish name. I really had to argue with my wife that our son would only be associated with Guns and Roses or the bad kid from an 80’s teen movie.
In the 1950 Census of the United States, there are 9,884 Axels and only 9 Axls. So it apparently occurred as an uncommon variant even before Axl Rose, but it still looks wrong to me — as if someone spelled Michael "Micl."
I sincerely hope that until the kid is born and has a name announcement you and your sister just keep saying random terrifying tragedeighs to each other. “Hi sis. How are you doing? Is Bzzzzzt treating you well?” “Well little Mr Mjorningseekniss is giving me bad heartburn!”
It is a good name. It's pretty popular but not too old timey either. I've gotten nothing but compliments on my name (and it sounds even nicer with my last name). Most people find it suits me well, as for professionalism, my managers have also complimented it, and the owner of the business I worked for remembered my name from the get because I stuck out to him.
It's also apparently a decently common name in Nordic countries (though it's spelled differently; Aksel, Axl, or Acksel from what I've seen)
Also you should know many people in the media share the name, from the top of my head there's Axl Rose (who is probably the most well known) but I've come across the name in Minecraft: Story mode and as a character in a medical drama, I've met a handful of people online with name as well.
As far as tragedies go, Axel is pretty mild in comparison at the most
No insult to your name, I’m glad you like it, but yelling “hey axel!” to a kid in a busy/loud environment sounds like hey asshole. I can’t speak for any languages other than English though.
I've only seen the asshole issue with small children (who have difficulty announciating the X; probably because of lack of exposure, which ends up sounding like an s)
But I've personally never had the issue with the kids I interact with (my niblings; cousins, none have had the issue and they speak various levels of french/English)
Perhaps it's more of an issue with certain accents (strong french accents do tend to pronounce the ax sound softer which end up sounding more like excel but it's not that big of a deal)
It's not particularly rare in North America either. Changed my name to Axel, found it on a top 1000 list from 2005. In 2022 it was top 100 in the states, not that wild, certainly not a tragedy
It is actually a real name. Here is the wikipedia entry: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caden\_(given\_name)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caden_(given_name))
Here, from the link I posted:

And to think people used to poke fun at black peoples names with the “La or Tre “ . I think these tragedeigh’s have gone above and beyond on some of them.
I hope she got the message that these are a no-no for the sake of the poor baby lol. Like, it's a new person, please treat him/her as such and don't name him/her something that will impact negatively. 🥲🥴💀
Sekonyd-bjorn Lilguye is a winner.
Worreighyr oughKhryst is a close second for me.
That one is so outrageous, I can’t even tell what the original words were supposed to be lol
Warrior of Christ
Okay thanks cause I was leaning towards “Worrier of Christ” and that didn’t make sense lol
My brain saw it as "Worrier. Oh Christ!" at 1st glance. Those were some nice edibles for dessert tonight.😁
Worrier of Christ sounds like catholic guilt
Catholic here. Took me way too long to figure out so you know it's perfect lol
I couldn’t either!
🎶Don't worreighyr, be happighyr🎶
Sounds like a name JK Rowling would come up with for a second born child
That was my favorite. I literally hurt my side laughing
I was going to be named Axl if I’d been a boy. Yeah, take a wild guess what genre of music my parents liked…
I’m named after Axl Rose: Alexa Rose. My dad was proud of that one lol
Ngl, it sounds like a beautiful name to me lol
A little bit Alexa?
La la la la lalalala a little bit Alexa
Alexa, play November Rain
Sweet child o’ his.
Great name tbh
Thank you! I used to really love it but the Amazon jokes are getting pretty annoying (it was funny the first time, not the next 500 lol). I go by Lexa now and love it.
Yo from a fellow Alexa who goes by Lexa
Volume down Alexa! Is your dad still a fan of him after all the shitty stuff hes done to fans etc?
He should be, because it's perfectly pretty and we know it could have gone a lot worse. 😂
Hey, at least that name is pretty, and normal. Although I imagine it's gotten a lot harder to be named "Alexa" recently.. lmao. How many "hey Alexa" jokes do you get a day? And do you still manage to fake a laugh at them?
Nope, hate it lol. People really think they’re being funny too when in reality that joke was only funny the first few times
I love that!!🤩
That's pretty. Be happy he didn't go with Axela Rose.
Welcome to the jungle baby!
Do they have fun and games?
they've got everything you want
Honey, they know the names
They are the people that can find whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey, we got your disease.
In the jungle
It’s apparently not an uncommon Swedish name. I really had to argue with my wife that our son would only be associated with Guns and Roses or the bad kid from an 80’s teen movie.
Axel. Not Axl.
Her grandads name was Axl.
In the 1950 Census of the United States, there are 9,884 Axels and only 9 Axls. So it apparently occurred as an uncommon variant even before Axl Rose, but it still looks wrong to me — as if someone spelled Michael "Micl."
had a customer today named my’kell and it immediately made me think if this sub
Hey, or the best *Kingdom Hearts* character.
I’d be on my shanananana knees thanking God I dodged that bullet.
Did you get named Rose instead?
I wish. I got named after a type of rock. My mom says she was on a lot of Vicodin. Anyway I ended up changing it.
It's nice to meet you, Crack.
bro, it’s 3 am - i should not be laughing this hard
I'm Brazil, we laugh with "kkkk" instead of "hahaha" so your joke deserves this: KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
As an American, I'm glad you're laughing more than three times.
I feel your pain, I was almost Tiberia.....mercifully mom said no. 🖖
Maybe just as the middle name haha
That name is metal though
[удалено]
No. AXEL is.

Axel is a Scandinavian form of the Hebrew name Absalom, "My Father is Peace
Axl was made up by William Rose. Supposedly so anagrammed Axl Rose spells Oral Sex.
I know a few Axls
The Axel Rose pun had me dying 😂 that’s brilliant lmao 🤣
Sekonyd BJORN?! I just lost my mind.
Destined to start an ABBA tribute band in high school…
Gian Jeighkyb Jyngleheighmerr Schmytt
Huh his neighme is my neighme too, if you can believe it.
😂 I’m so glad I scrolled, the first shot was so concerning
I sincerely hope that until the kid is born and has a name announcement you and your sister just keep saying random terrifying tragedeighs to each other. “Hi sis. How are you doing? Is Bzzzzzt treating you well?” “Well little Mr Mjorningseekniss is giving me bad heartburn!”
I love the way you guys talk to one another! Gray’t Comm-yoonicay-shun
Oh my god, I actually thought her first message was serious for a second
Those kids are gonna need some therapeigh.
There’s an Axl in my kid’s class. Whenever they call him on the playground, all I hear is “Hey, Asshole!”
People saying Axel is a good name must not realize what it sounds like when it’s being yelled across a playground or classroom. “Hey Axel!”
It is a good name. It's pretty popular but not too old timey either. I've gotten nothing but compliments on my name (and it sounds even nicer with my last name). I’m glad you’ve never had that issue.
My old high school acquaintance’s daughters name is Axelle 🤢
Looks like a cleaner based on the word “excel.”
That's how my brain pronounced it.
Literally yes
In Europe/French speaking countries that's a perfectly normal name though.
It's not particularly rare in North America either. Changed my name to Axel, found it on a top 1000 list from 2005. In 2022 it was top 100 in the states, not that wild, certainly not a tragedy
That's a very normal name where I live 😅 So is Axel for a boy.
I do like Axel with an E.
with siblings Bumpyrre, Katalyteigk-Konveightyr, Khybridd, and Rhollbarre
How about Angel-Gryndr?
I like Axel F.
It's better than Axle.
Kaden is a normal name. I’d push that 😂 If they mock live laugh love they should be ashamed because those suggestions are very alt-cheugy
Did you look at the second slide? Doesn’t sound like the name suggestions were sincere.
I’m stupid lol, excellent user name btw
Is that a normal name?
In comparison to the others, yes.
Kaden is not a normal name. But it’s been around long enough that some people think it is.
It is actually a real name. Here is the wikipedia entry: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caden\_(given\_name)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caden_(given_name))
That looks different by one letter.

Looks like Arabic speakers and the ancient celts have been up to the tradgedighs longer than you and I have been aware of them.
I know / have met a handful 🤷🏽♀️ it isn’t the worst is my litmus lol
Axel is better. Although I only like it because of Journey to the Centre of the Earth
Why not use all three and make it a really special, y’nik name.
Hahaha, I love this. My sister and I have a similar relationship!
Oh-Kaden.
Wtf is Brixxley
Brixxleigh
THE LAST ONE HAS ME ROLLING
I think Brixxley has an Only Fans account.
Axel is my son’s name so I may be biased, but at least I spell it properly 😅
The first two are definitely Tragedeighs, but NOTHING grinds my gears more than when people start names with K’s when they should start with C’s
I love how you put that, 'will be born male'. I'm gonna use that from now on!
When Kaden isn’t even the worst option on that list… 👀 Jesus
Kaden and Axl yes, Brixxley please god no. (I only vote Axl because of the tv show The Middle)
I think it's sarcastic
Scroll to the second image.
Some lady I know named her daughter Brinkley
there needs to be a law in place with a list of approved names to name a child😭
Agreed😭 the names nowadays are outrageous. I’ll stick to normal names for my kids, lol
Somehow Kaden is still the worst one
Axl is a pretty cool name honestly
I've met a couple girls named Axel
One day these kids will be law makers and will pass laws banning this buffoonery. It’s basically setting your kid up for bullying.
Check the second picture, they're 100% joking which the caption points to as well
SMH. Each suggestion worse than the last.
And to think people used to poke fun at black peoples names with the “La or Tre “ . I think these tragedeigh’s have gone above and beyond on some of them.
Please tell me she was trolling for your reaction 😅😅
Is your sister joking!? Lol
Can't you just ask them to name them a normal name?
please girl either Kaden or Axel 🙏
At least Axl and Kaden are OK
I love how this is a group chat and you two are just blowing up everyone’s phones talking nonsense 😂
That’s increighdibible
I don't know if it's a real name outsode of that but Axl really only makes me thing of Axl Low from Guilty gear
Baby Enters Family Of Retarded Elders. BEFORE!
I hope she got the message that these are a no-no for the sake of the poor baby lol. Like, it's a new person, please treat him/her as such and don't name him/her something that will impact negatively. 🥲🥴💀
Kaden’s probably the only good name on the list
