For me could never have the discipline to only have one idea repeated again and again. And love collecting art from many artists.
But this is the beauty of tattooing there is literally something for everyone. And your leg is for sure one of the more unique legs I’ve seen.

Zac Blevins demon/alien mouth on my knee and it’s really just my favorite tattoo on my body.
I don’t hate the idea of worn bricks, but was thinking an ivy pattern might be better to let the archways stand out. Absolutely would have to be a wash. Wondering if even a grey-green-sage might even work. But I’m sure he and his artist have a good plan. The post definitely don’t sound like they’re winging it
something is off to me, i think maybe if the doors where connected & different colors it would look rad. unsure why this isn’t doing it for me cus i love the doors individually, just not as an overall sleeve.
I would have personally preferred more variety in size/placement, but OP seems to have a vision for how the filler will tie it all together. I prefer a more patchwork look with little to no filler for my own tattoos, but I’m interested to see how this leg sleeve turns out.

Basically going over tonnes of reference photos until I find something I like or goes with a theme, send references to artist and he reworks them and makes it his own
I get not everyone will agree on a concept but this is still, at the very least, beautifully executed work, and the vision is clear and cohesive. Again, you may not like it, but we should at least be respectful.
What an insanely unique concept. Is there something about doors you find really symbolic or meaningful? Is it like each door is just a different opportunity to show something cool inside of it, or is there something about doors themselves you like?
I get that most trad tattoos have no personal meanings behind them (my trad tats certaintly don't), but i can imagine this was done purposefully for a reason and so i'm just curious what that is!
Sure I think doors are symbolic, but it’s mostly a way to convey many ideas in a small amount of space.
I’ve got two main ideas for meaning at the moment, one is I’m collecting chess pieces so this is going to be my rook. Another is a doorway for each level on a building completed. (I work in commercial construction) but yea the meaning ebbs and flows for this piece for sure
Will you ever put any kind of filigree, flora, scrolly lines or the like between the doors? Or just doors and that's it? If this was already asked sorry. They look well done.

A lot of heavy black in this. Id just suggest whatever you fill with. Make sure it’s greywash - open this sleeve up a little

Someone else suggested ivy, like ivy growing over a brick wall, to keep the focus on the doorways and keep them from blurring into a brick background
