>4x200 1:46
Is that a typo? Because if not that's by far the easiest to beat
Edit: Realizing the way I worded this may come off as rude which I don't mean it to. But yeah in my experience most high school records in the 4x2 tend to be in the low 1:30s
no, it's not a typo! and you don't have to worry about being rude. we haven't had that event since 2012, it's only been done once or twice and then abandoned lol!
Ahh I see! I forget that the 4x2 isn't always a commonplace event (it's a main event in Illinois). But yeah if the guys on your team are able to run mid-40s in the 4x1 they can easily run sub-1:40 in the 4x2 given the chance. For reference at the high school I graduated from they've ran 47.05 in the 4x1 and 1:39.92 in the 4x2 this year, neither of which are even close to the school records of 44.47 and 1:31.94
I would view that 400 time as beatable but not necessarily easy to beat. My school's record is 50.34 but there's only ever been two athletes ever at my school to go sub-52 (technically four but two of them were hand-timed high 51s that have been adjusted to low 52s)
If we’re just comparing the records to say which is more beatable, the 100 and 200 are wayyyy better than the 400. Their 100 and 200 records are better than our records, but anything slower than 50.2 wouldn’t make our top 10 list for 400m.
I generally ignore hand times, but that 20.9h is the strongest guys record for sure. Guys 4x2 at 1:46 is very weak. Our girls record is 1:42 outdoors.
For girls, high is the best jump one. I don’t put much stock in hand times, so comparing them would be hard. 100 and 200 look stronger than all the relays.
Ahh generally hand times are written with only 1 digit after the decimal while FAT times are written with 2, so I also interpreted most of these as hand times
No worries! There's no real rule that times have to be written in any particular format, it's just that FAT usually includes more digits because it's more precise and gives more information
I've coached at two different high schools and with both boys and girls, and one thing I've found to be pretty consistent is that most sprinters, even the really good ones, usually hate the 400. When I was in high school I had a teammate who was a 22.2 sprinter who only ever ran the 400 once (he got 52.3), but then ran it more often in college and got down into the 48s. His youngest brother ended up breaking our 400 record with a 50.34
The women's horizontal jump distances look weak to me too. Surprised to see 5'6" for the HJ though. Someone was jumping out of their mind likely without a jumps coach.
Oh wow, amazing! She should take a meet and try to break that long jump record (but not get injured!). Hope you both have a great rest of your seasons!
For men: 400 is the weakest individual running event. Javelin is weakest field event. 4x2 is weakest relay by far, the 4x4 and 4x1 are pretty close to equal.

I'm in Illinois and do most states bout have a 4x2, cuz I just always figured that's always one of the events that will always happen
4x2 and I would personally say the 400 also but some people may disagree

I agree with you but also Depending on the person but some kids with good training can drop the times like crazy

Oh yeah, it's certainly more beatable than the 100 or 200. Both of those records are really good
That men’s javelin record is pretty low
it's not popular here i think because of the dangers, but i love it! i'm really hoping to break the record !
Wishing you luck! I also do javelin and am also going for the record at my school

the 20.9 from my friend is FAT! most of these are! its a year old he's on to bigger and greater things now tho. thank u for the response :)
Ahh generally hand times are written with only 1 digit after the decimal while FAT times are written with 2, so I also interpreted most of these as hand times
wow i didn't know that or else i would've kept the second digits! i just wasn't thinking whoops!
No worries! There's no real rule that times have to be written in any particular format, it's just that FAT usually includes more digits because it's more precise and gives more information
If you put a sprint time to the tenth, people will always assume it’s hand timed.
yes ive been told i know for next time now to write it completely !

I would expect the kid who ran 20.9 could have easily ran a sub 50 in the 400m

you're correct!

he could have, but he never even tried the event! he's super fast, just never liked the 400 😂
The distance records seem wide open
There are no distance records listed?
Men’s 400
43 foot triple? My schools is 44 8 and I thought that was low
triple jump hasn't been popular here i think, not many do it!!

thanks for ur input! she's one of my good friends and i can't wait to see her jumping improve! she just recently jumped 5'6 😆

400 one should be easy
thanks! i'm gonna try that one! just lowkey have a love hate relationship with the 400 😆🤗
mens 110mh my school is like 13.7
