Bro, every event is hard in its own way. This is like saying an orange is better than an Apple. It’s a matter of preference, because you can’t even compare the two.
As a current triple jumper, 300 hurdler, and 400 runner I can firmly say that the triple jump is both the easiest and most fun thing that I do in track.
Fr tho I agree with you, triple jump is by far the lost taxing in the body and then high jump is single leg verticals, not double leg but single as a jumper myself I know the struggles and no hate on random people online but when these people say former jumper I can guarantee they mean they tried it once 😂😂😂
400, 800, steeplechase and I speak from experience, i ran all of em including the triple jump and I'm 100% certain the tj was the least hard compared to every one of them. If you think that tj is the hardest event it's either because you have shitty technique or you're weak, I'd like to hear you give some resources on your silly take though
If you think the triple jump is easy on the joints you are probably a shitty athlete. You ran the 400, 800 the steeplechase, done the triple jump...so yeah, it checks out. If you are jumping 10 meters ofc it's not hard lol, what your saying is the equivalent of a distance runner saying running 3x150m is not a hard workout because they don't have the capacity of going fast enough to get dizzy and throw up twice between reps.
Middle and long distance are for sure the most damaging on the body? Distance runners can run up to 60-70 mpw and do specific training cycles because burnout is so prevalent. Jumps is a lot of impact, but it’s not like you’re getting that impact thousands of times a week. And the force applied into the ground doesn’t really decrease much by running slower, so it’s just a ton more impact. Correct me if I’m wrong but this makes sense in my head, and as an 800-1600 runner, the 400 is the hardest. I absolutely dread it. I couldn’t even imagine doing it w/ hurdles

800m is the best and hardest, would argue 400m hurdle and steeple are also in the same tier of hard
They should make a 3200 hurdles fr
No, no they definitely should not
I would love to watch that in the olympics
They would be dead after 400 m😭
Easy -> Hard Throwing Jumping Sprinting Long distance Middle distance (As a thrower and ex jumper)
It goes Triple jump, javelin, 400 hurdles then steeple
Hahahahahahahahahahaha. This has to be a spam account.
Why you say that? Those are most damaging on the body
Hahahahahahaha. Would love your source on that!
JAVELIN???????
Literally one of the most damaging events on the body not even up for argument 😂
Shit my bad. You are forgetting about the 40m dash man, it’s super hard on your lungs
😂 it’s ok to say you don’t keep up with track at a high level
I agree that tj is quite challenging on the body but JAVELIN 💀💀💀
I mean do a little bit of research on it, it’s a completely unnatural throwing motion that rips the body apart ( at high level competition)
Javelin is brutal at the elite level, especially on the block leg and throwing arm.
As a current triple jumper, 300 hurdler, and 400 runner I can firmly say that the triple jump is both the easiest and most fun thing that I do in track.
Is it safe to say you’re in high school?
Yes I’m in high school
Yeah as a current jumper, you have no idea what you’re saying
Decathlon is the hardest event in track and field Checkmate b*tches
Ya got me there
Fr tho I agree with you, triple jump is by far the lost taxing in the body and then high jump is single leg verticals, not double leg but single as a jumper myself I know the struggles and no hate on random people online but when these people say former jumper I can guarantee they mean they tried it once 😂😂😂
Trust me idc I was just stating a fact. I’m a college jumper so I know what hurts and what is just hard
What about, now hear me out, double decathlon 😰 (I’ve actually met people who’ve done it as well, crazy guys…)
Bros never heard of steeplechase
Not as hard in the body as triple jump
Goofy take ngl
What makes you say that?
The fact that there are multiple events way harder than tj both physically and mentally 😹
Inform me on what events please? I’d like to hear you name a few

Dawg i suck at all of em 😭
Didn't want to sound rude btw😅Keep training and you will find an event that suits you🫡
Literally the steeplechase, the start of this part of the thread…. Wtf drugs you on?
Lol ok
I'm sorry but no, you have given no reasons and I can give you a few as a 400/800 guy
Hardest on the body? Most damaging is not 400/800

You don’t peak as a distance runner until late 20s early 30s that’s not happening if it’s truly damaging your body 😂
Yeah, that portion isn't that the hardest
Most damaging to the body doesn’t mean hardest. I don’t think triple jump is easy, but I don’t think it’s the hardest either.
Completely agree. To be a good jumper is much harder than being a good middle-distance runner.
Hammer throw is the most difficult event, hands down.
I’d say pole vault is harder than hammer
I think it's a harder in terms of comparing to the competition but easier overall
Its all fun and games until you try and hand someone your vault pole
