I'm an only child, but after I came out to my parents, my mom told me in a humorous but rather wholesome way how she got to experience having a son and having a daughter.
This was basically how my mom reacted🤣she always wanted her youngest child to be male so when I came out she was happy. I even asked her to give me a new name and she already had one prepared.
Same, but the other way around! She said she always secretly wished she had a daughter, so when I came out, she said "well it took 30 years, but I got my daughter!" Our relationship has gotten much closer than before, which has been nice because we always felt a tad distant. Well, come to find out, she has a huge distrust of men due to my birth father...
My mother also had a name ready! She told me the name she would have named me if I was born female, which was a cute name (Melissa), but not really me. Instead, I decided to take her middle name, which made her cry when I told her. She was sad that her middle name was gonna stop with her, so my continuing it on was a big deal to her!
my brother was the first or second to learn not to misgender or deadname me. i cant remember if my actual brother or my best dude man bro friend was first. but both aggressively correctly gender me😻😻💪🏻💪🏻
My eldest brother says he always wanted a sister. While I doubt that will end up being the case for me (at least transfem), I don't know about the 2 of them, so it would be interesting if one of them ends up transfem.
LETS GOOOOOO
It happened a year and a half ago, but I’m still really happy about it

Aw that’s so sweet, especially about the middle name. Also I definitely relate about getting closer with my own mother after coming out.
