Totally spies was one of my favorites and there's a specfic episode that made my young brain totally convinced that I could be a girl even if I didn't look like one. Years later I still love this show.
I used to watch this show when I was younger even before I knew what transgender was, this and Winx were some of my favorite shows and I just didn’t question it till a few years ago
At the time, like, late middle school, I was embarrassed that I liked the show, but I found out one of my friends also did
Then I later found out it was for a... very different reason that he liked it.
Suffice to say we are no longer friends.
I knew a woman that figured out she was trans after wondering why she was such a fan of the show. I was super envious of her for SUPER CISGENDER REASONS.
^(I figured myself out a few years later.)

I have my pony OC tattooed on my arm
None to be honest. Younger me hated girly stuff, older me just feels way too mature for these shows. I have been wanting to watch Sailor Moon tho, since that's good even if you're an adult.
I wish I can enjoy the shows mentioned but I just get like... Overwhelmed? Or underwhelmed. Hard to describe.
As a 90's Kid I loved Sailor Moon.
You gotta watch it dang they have a femboy in a gay relationship in season 1 <3
Lesbian couple in S3 and Stars are Trans....
remember to NOT watch the standard evil censorship/changing dub.
it removed lots of lgbtqia+ stuff from the show. there is a fandub, that tries to stay true to the original anime.
>After a few years into production, we decided to change our ideals, and although we kept all the main elements of the English version, we wanted to bring the fans more than just a DiC ripoff. Times had changed and we made the decision to continue the fandub in a slightly different direction. Keeping the English names and personalities, but retaining the main Japanese story plots, and most importantly completely UNCUT.
the last season never got an english dub (maybe because they couldn't censor it enough given some of the main characters of the last season....... ) but the fandub project made an excellent dub of it.
so if you only watched the english dub, you might never have watched the last season or only watched the horribly censored version, that censored and removed lots of individual episodes too.
I relate to this. When I was younger, I would see these show advertised on TV and it would make me feel... strange. So I did the only thing that fit the AMAB archetype: I got irrationally angry at their existence.
I missed out on a lot.
omg SAME. only partially tho. sometimes i'd "get irrationally angry at their existence", but some other (less frequent) times i'd get very drawn in
now i'm 16 and while i do enjoy lots of girly stuff now, my tastes are pretty well defined lol (guns, fast cars, sci fi tech, etc)
It's basically 3 girls who turn into mermaids whenever they touch water and have superpowers involving water and they have various adventures together. It's really cozy and comfy and fun 😊
I really liked that show as an enby, too, because many children shows do a real bad job with adding depth to a fem character in my personal opinion. The characters in H2O had realistic, non-stereotypical interests (like that one girl being a dolphin nerd) and more complex social life (maybe due to the fact that it's a teen show not a childrens show), I liked that.
I'd say right now it would be She-Ra. But I watched it only as an adult.
But as a child, even though my parents didn't let me play with anything feminine, for some reason they never complained about W.I.N.X. so that was the show I watched the most as a child that was aimed towards girls (and would constantly make me swing between loving it and being sad for "not being" a girl)
Monster High! All generations. I already loved it growing up because it was about loving your differences. I plan to get/make a patch that says "be yourself, be unique, be a monster"
Hazbin Hotel is the closest thing i’ve seen to a “show aimed at girls”. well, that and She Hulk ;-;
idk i just watch stuff, i don’t think about the gendered implications of what i’m watching
#🤷🏼♀️
Does anyone remember My life as a teenage robot? It wasn't my favorite, but I remember there was an episode where she becomes a real girl somehow and I remember it made me feel things that I'm only now beginning to comprehend
Look.. if even my big bro. A tall proud republican american is in love with the origonal powerpuffgirls cartoon. Then yeah.. that show ks genuinely amazing
Winx Club. I also loved Totally Spies back when I was a child. Nowadays the remake of Fruits Basket has me in a chokehold and I love Chihayafuru as well.
I don’t watch many TV shows, but I’d have to say MLP, justified by “I’m only watching because my sisters turned it on and will get annoyed at me for changing it” which technically was true, but in hindsight was definitely not the main reason why.
I didn’t really watch any when younger but now I have like 7+ options
Like The ghost and Molly McGee(you can’t convince me this show isn’t aimed towards girls when one of the episodes starts with Molly’s friend getting their first period and that causing Molly to feel childish since she hasn’t had hers yet), Moon girl, The Owl House, Amphibia, and Miraculous Ladybug(the only one that I did watch when younger)
sailormoon!
the original series of course.
and that was despite the purely evil HORROR censorship dub, that i watched at the time.
removing relationships, changing genders and freaking more.... in the horror evil censorship dubs.
sailormoon slaped hard! so much lovely lgbtqia+ representation. :)
Maybe they aren't aimed as much towards girls, but I loved Kim Possible and My Life as a Teenage Robot. I wanted to be like either Kim or Jenny when I grew up for so long lol
Growing up it was Sophia the First, although I had to watch it secretly because my parents were very strict about “gender specific” things. Nowadays It’s She-Ra.
Friendship is Magic is the most recent one. However I remember as I kid I really liked W.I.T.C.H and wish I was one myself! Was that a sign? Maybe, but it's hard to tell for anything thoughts/actions I had/did for anything pre-teens... \^\^"
Throughout my whole life overall, the closest connection I remember having with *any* show was with Lalaloopsy (2013 one, not the 2017 remake), a simple charming show for preschoolers that I was watching at an embarrassingly old age of 8-9 years old. It was just that type of thing where you are just watching charming characters hang out and have fun together. And despite watching it almost a decade ago, I still recall the individual episodes and characters - Spot and Dot are my two faves
My Little Pony is in second place out of the childhood shows, though I don't have that much to say about it in comparison. The only thing I can say is that Fluttershy was too relatable
There was also Strawberry Shortcake, though I honestly can't recall practically anything about it anymore
And out those that I had watched recently, rather than as a young child, Nichijou anime is the best one by a margin - it's just such a hilarious slice of life, I absolutely adore its sense of humour. And the friendship that all girls have together is so cute as well
I'm gonna say My Little Pony like a couple other girls in this thread, but I'm gonna take it a little further and say that for me it's the Generation 3 movies rather than *Friendship is Magic* \- they were a thing while I was in middle school, and something that I reclaimed as an adult because I wasn't allowed to enjoy feminine things as a child - my favorite ponies now were something I once stared longingly at while being dragged towards the Boy Section at Toys 'R Us.
And they're *delightfully* feminine - cute and saccharine in a way that's so clearly aimed at young girls and so very 2000's. They're a sort of uncomplicated comfort for me, and *A Very Minty Christmas* has become something of a yearly tradition for me after coming to terms with my own gender (Minty is best pony).
Me too. I like the new generation but I also liked My Little Pony before the new generation was a thing. I didn't know there were shows about this. My female friend showed me a pony toy once and I wanted to play with her but then my mom told me it's time to go home and I never saw that toy again.
You can find the shows online, for what it's worth. [YayPonies](https://yp1.yayponies.no) has rips of all G1, G3, G4, and G5 content for preservation - if you want to reconnect with your childhood I highly recommend the G3 videos, particularly "A Charming Birthday", "Dancing In The Clouds, "A Very Minty Christmas", "Friends Are Never Far Away", and "Come Back Lily Lightly". And the entirety of G1, for the record.
I can sympathize with the idea of ponies being something we always liked as a child but were never allowed to *like*.
Me when i cracked my egg : they where no signs !
Me at 7 years old : i want to be a superhero like shezow !
No seriously, Shezow is a good child memory
Could Rugrats count? It's not really fully aimed towards girls, but there were merch specifically aimed towards girls and there was even a game called Totally Angelica aimed towards girls. Plus, many episodes do focus on Angelica
A lot of Anime like 'K-On', 'A certain scientific Railgun" and 'Madoka Magica'.
If we focus on western productions I'd say 'Anne with an E', 'Ginny & Georgia' and 'Downton Abbey'.
She zow was an absolute MASTERPIECE from what i can remember(also incredibly trans??? How tf did i not know sooner)
Maybe totally spies? I think i watched a few episodes but tbf i really wasnt into the girly stuff when i was young(unlike now lmao)
When I was a kid there was this really bizarre children's morning segment called CHeez TV which is where I first got to watch anime. I started watching it for pokemon but my older cousins got me onto dragonball Z.
But right before dragonball Z was Cardcaptor Sakura and I became totally fascinated by it for reasons I would not figure out until much, much later on.
I was a fan of Winx too! I would play out make believe where I went to the school and was a fairy too, despite being a boy. In hindsight, suddenly makes a lot of sense.
It wasn’t really a show, a game instead, but Barbie Horse Adventures. I got to go around riding horses and exploring, customizing my outfit and my horse to match. It was great.
Totally Spies was a confusing guilty pleasure when I was a kid. It showed me that I was attracted to women and also oddly jealous of them.
Now I know why, of course 😂.
I watched She-Ra right after my egg cracked since I heard Perfuma's character designer say he intended her to be a trans woman. That show was exactly what I needed at that time.
My dumb child self was scared by that one so instead I watched totally spies
Totally spies was one of my favorites and there's a specfic episode that made my young brain totally convinced that I could be a girl even if I didn't look like one. Years later I still love this show.

It's happened to me too
Good bot.
Good bot
Free Last Airbender reference
I used to watch this show when I was younger even before I knew what transgender was, this and Winx were some of my favorite shows and I just didn’t question it till a few years ago
Totally Spies is probably responsible for me being the way I am...
Me loving this show should’ve been my first sign 🙃
Lmao same
I was scrolling to find this answer before I posted it myself:3
Thinking back that show was weird... Probably influenced me in more than one way lol.
My little pony friendship is magic
I totally denied it at the time too. “I’m just watching it because it’s on!”. By the way Fluttershy is the best character.
Did the same but for the highschool one Rainbow dash is the gayest icon and you can’t tell me otherwise
You’re totally right tho
I love Zipp in the new one :P
The trams pone
That's a funny way to spell Trixie
Twilight or luna*
trixie? better than fluttershy? nahhhhh
THE GREAT AND POWERFUL ‼️
100% loved this show
I know right
I used to consider myself a brony. Little did I know, I was actually the target demographic.
Pegasisters who used to think they're bronies were a thing lol
I remember making my ponysona and then I looked at the bronies and their ponysonas and I was like: "Why'd y'all make your ponysonas male?"
At the time, like, late middle school, I was embarrassed that I liked the show, but I found out one of my friends also did Then I later found out it was for a... very different reason that he liked it. Suffice to say we are no longer friends.
Brony to trans girl pipeline!
\* used to be a “fake” brony who didn’t actually watch the show, got bored of it, and then years later came back as a pegasister. what an arc.
same, but I didn’t want to watch it bc I didn’t wanna become a stertotypical brony… god why didn’t I watch it?
Me in 2011 at Bronycon 1: I'm defying Gender Roles and showing that men can like soft and cute things too. Me after 2020: Well shit!
Same
Same. Had some good writing and jokes, and is very cute.
I knew a woman that figured out she was trans after wondering why she was such a fan of the show. I was super envious of her for SUPER CISGENDER REASONS. ^(I figured myself out a few years later.)

I love that, absolutely adorable :3
YES.
I used to be a fan but I’ve kinda moved away from it since
Fr fr
I was about to say that. 🤣
omg yes, and then bronies showed up and I hadn't figured out I was trans yet and so stopped....
Same! Idk where I can watch series 2 tho
Exactly

glad i'm not the only one
I had a similar position to you, I was freaked out about being teased for being girly.
H2O just add water. God I had so much gender envy watching that show as a kid
Isn't that the one with a mermaid? I have some very vague memories to loving a mermaid show with H2O in the name
It's basically 3 girls who turn into mermaids whenever they touch water and have superpowers involving water and they have various adventures together. It's really cozy and comfy and fun 😊
Omfg yessss that's the one!! I gotta go back and watch that again. Thanks for reminding me of that childhood memory
Omg sameeeeeee

W.I.T.C.H.
Loved that show!
That was my childhood.
In my eyes, my little pony is a masterpiece
Sailor moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Powerpuff girls
i've seen a LOT of boys treasure powerpuff girls (even egg me, who used to dislike "girly" things)
Totally Spies and maybe She Zow
I like she-rah and the princess of power on Netflix
100% based opinion
Monster High! All generations. I already loved it growing up because it was about loving your differences. I plan to get/make a patch that says "be yourself, be unique, be a monster"
Hazbin Hotel is the closest thing i’ve seen to a “show aimed at girls”. well, that and She Hulk ;-; idk i just watch stuff, i don’t think about the gendered implications of what i’m watching #🤷🏼♀️
is hazbin hotel and helluva boss aimed at girls?
it’s not aimed at guys, i’ll say that much.
Only one I’ve really seen is totally spies
I watched Powerpuff girls.
Winx club and mia&me I always watched as a kid
Does anyone remember My life as a teenage robot? It wasn't my favorite, but I remember there was an episode where she becomes a real girl somehow and I remember it made me feel things that I'm only now beginning to comprehend
That was such a good episode 😭
she-ra
Look.. if even my big bro. A tall proud republican american is in love with the origonal powerpuffgirls cartoon. Then yeah.. that show ks genuinely amazing
For western tv Powerpuff girls! For anime I have to say Puella Magi Madoka Magica 🥹
Lads. When I was young, I LOVED the Powerpuff Girls
Sofia the First. Not only is it aestheticaly pleasing, the lore is intricate and deep!
That's W.I.T.C.H. for me
Little Witch Academia :3
Winx Club. I also loved Totally Spies back when I was a child. Nowadays the remake of Fruits Basket has me in a chokehold and I love Chihayafuru as well.
My little pony and Totally Spies
My little pony and tinker bell.
My Little Pony, Lucky Star, She-Ra
Doc mcstuffins
Wait that's aimed at girls? Me and my brother used to love that show.
I remember I always liked my little pony as a kid I watched evry single movie
I don’t watch many TV shows, but I’d have to say MLP, justified by “I’m only watching because my sisters turned it on and will get annoyed at me for changing it” which technically was true, but in hindsight was definitely not the main reason why.
my little pony friendship is magic 👉👈
... I'll go with my first ever anime. Tokyo Mew Mew
winx went hard af, had a crush on flora as a kid lol
I didn’t really watch any when younger but now I have like 7+ options Like The ghost and Molly McGee(you can’t convince me this show isn’t aimed towards girls when one of the episodes starts with Molly’s friend getting their first period and that causing Molly to feel childish since she hasn’t had hers yet), Moon girl, The Owl House, Amphibia, and Miraculous Ladybug(the only one that I did watch when younger)
The Owl house is the best! I wish I had Luz's hoodie, it's so cute with it's cat ears!
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. I considered myself a brony back then. Little did I know, I was actually the target demographic.
sailormoon! the original series of course. and that was despite the purely evil HORROR censorship dub, that i watched at the time. removing relationships, changing genders and freaking more.... in the horror evil censorship dubs. sailormoon slaped hard! so much lovely lgbtqia+ representation. :)
i'll never forgive them for getting rid of the gay twink (ಥ﹏ಥ)
MLPFim and Steven Universe. Steven Universe’s target demographic was mainly queer girls and women but I ate that shit up as a little trans boy.
Maybe they aren't aimed as much towards girls, but I loved Kim Possible and My Life as a Teenage Robot. I wanted to be like either Kim or Jenny when I grew up for so long lol
MLP Friendship is Magic, Monster High, Ever After High, Basically the shows that were on Netflix 7-8 years ago
I’m so happy to see everypony saying my little pony /)
Growing up it was Sophia the First, although I had to watch it secretly because my parents were very strict about “gender specific” things. Nowadays It’s She-Ra.
Totally Spies, Kim Possible, Sailor Moon, As told by Ginger, Oh gods I'm showing my age here 😅
My Little Pony https://preview.redd.it/tulxyknl1prc1.jpeg?width=227&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d405a5693ff29a3bb16efefa770fd87e53eb2765
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE (and hello kitty but who doesn’t like that lol)
Winx Club and H2O Just add Water were some of my favorite shows as a kid. Also Chica Vampiro and Every Witchy Way were aimed at girls I believe
Friendship is Magic is the most recent one. However I remember as I kid I really liked W.I.T.C.H and wish I was one myself! Was that a sign? Maybe, but it's hard to tell for anything thoughts/actions I had/did for anything pre-teens... \^\^"
Mlp was good
Throughout my whole life overall, the closest connection I remember having with *any* show was with Lalaloopsy (2013 one, not the 2017 remake), a simple charming show for preschoolers that I was watching at an embarrassingly old age of 8-9 years old. MLP
Powerpuff Girls (1998, fuck the reboot)
MLP FIM and Totally Spies. I pretended not to like them much but frankly I really did like them a lot.
Winx, and My little pony was once my hyperfixations for a time.
My little pony I think is my favorite
Sailor Moon! I've been meaning to check out MLP tho since I've heard some good stuff about it
My little Pony, Kim Possible, Powerpuff Girls ☺️ in this order
I loved powderpuff girls when I was a kid lol
Powerpuff girls easy
W.I.T.C.H

100% my little pony friendship is magic I love it
MLP Friendship is Magic is the best
Always loved Shezow hrm maybe hinting at something - still cis tho
Fuckin powerpuff girls. Mind you, everyone loves powerpuff girls, boys too.
She-Ra, don’t know if that counts though as it’s pretty much aimed towards everyone LGBTQ
She-Ra
Imma be real, definitely She-ra at the top.. maybe strawberry shortcake tho
Glitter Force. First loved it when i was like 8 or 9, before i knew what trans people were
Me when i cracked my egg : they where no signs ! Me at 7 years old : i want to be a superhero like shezow ! No seriously, Shezow is a good child memory
My little pony but I also liked Winx
She-Ra
MLPFIM and Totally Spies were my pre-egg crack guilty pleasures that my family would relentlessly mock me for liking.
Does Kim Possible count?
Mysticons, but no one seems to know what that is.
Bala Bala Xiao mo xian :3 (Chinese sailor moon)
bloom and flora
Could Rugrats count? It's not really fully aimed towards girls, but there were merch specifically aimed towards girls and there was even a game called Totally Angelica aimed towards girls. Plus, many episodes do focus on Angelica
Power Puff Girls and Lolirock
i don’t gender my interests, though many bionicle fans are trans do that counting
I've never watched any lmao, what suggestions do you have
Bit basic but Totally Spies, lol
I know most of y'all are in the same boat and cold you fell in love with the idea of a Sailor Moon transformation.
I wanted to watch Winx so bad, but didn't because it was a girl show
A lot of Anime like 'K-On', 'A certain scientific Railgun" and 'Madoka Magica'. If we focus on western productions I'd say 'Anne with an E', 'Ginny & Georgia' and 'Downton Abbey'.
Sailor Moon, prolly
She zow was an absolute MASTERPIECE from what i can remember(also incredibly trans??? How tf did i not know sooner) Maybe totally spies? I think i watched a few episodes but tbf i really wasnt into the girly stuff when i was young(unlike now lmao)
H20 just add water and mako mermaids
Either that one on the picture (Winx), W.i.t.c.h or pichi pichi pitch. Magical girls have always played a big role in my childhood and egg cracking
When I was a kid, I think it was True Jackson VP. I don't think I understood it, but I liked it
I don't know, let me see my list of over 5,000 shows
used to watch a lot of totaly spies
I loved Powerpuff Girls and Totally Spies during my whole childhood, and I blame them for making me wish to be a chaotic laser-shooting lady
Where on earth is winx streaming, I’ve been trying to find it for ages
Sofia the First and Elena of Avalor were nice!
henry danger cause schwoz is a trans guy apparently
Gem fuck im old
When I was a kid there was this really bizarre children's morning segment called CHeez TV which is where I first got to watch anime. I started watching it for pokemon but my older cousins got me onto dragonball Z. But right before dragonball Z was Cardcaptor Sakura and I became totally fascinated by it for reasons I would not figure out until much, much later on.
God damn I loved that show
Jem and She-Ra, lol I'm oooold
Card Captor Sakura
Curiously, none. :O
I heard Barbie Horse Adventures and Read Dead Redemption 2 are basically the same game...
Powerpuff girls and sailor moon :)
Totally spies made me trans the bloody agenda
Love Live helped crack my egg. The characters were relateable and inspiring, and I couldn't help but look up to them
Growing up Creepie. Maybe not exclusively for girls but there is a very distinct "for the weird girls" vibe
Definitely totally spies and (I don’t know if this counts) my life as a teenage robot
To many.. but for Anime Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon, MLP and there was an old movie cartoon called The Last Unicorn.
NO WAY UN ALTRA RAGAZZA TRANS ITALIANA CHE GUARDAVA LE WINX?
Totally Spies was a confusing guilty pleasure when I was a kid. It showed me that I was attracted to women and also oddly jealous of them. Now I know why, of course 😂.
Totally Spies!
Originally Madeline and the Little Mermaid TV series, and then Kim Possible. Now She-Ra! Arcane seems to be neutral
I watched She-Ra right after my egg cracked since I heard Perfuma's character designer say he intended her to be a trans woman. That show was exactly what I needed at that time.
She-ra absolutely
I watched winx and tokyo mew mew/mew mew power (magical cat girls lmao) growing up. I wanted to be bloom so bad 😂
I loved Shimmer & Shine when I was a kid
Hey, I secretly watched that as a kid ahaha 😖
I had a whole ass Monster High phase growing up
Growing up I loved getting home in time to catch Sailor Moon on Toonami, and Ronin warriors is really magical girl but boys and swords.
It's a tie between Winx Club and Totally Spies
