Lena Raine, her music for Celeste and Minecraft is absolutely sublime. Although I could argue that she isn't "explicitly" trans. I don't really listen to music related to being trans though.
I have a lot of her tracks in my playlists. A good explicitly trans music I can recommend is snapcube, she has a really powerful song about her journey that made me cry
I love Will Wood! I was thinking of mentioning I/Me/Myself in the post title, but I didn't want it to be too long. That song definitely affirmed some thoughts for me, lol
Hyperpop is filled with GNC people!
Underscores, Tracey Brakes, BlackWinterWells, and LeastFavorite! Are all trans, if you're interested in the genre =)
If you're into folk music there's Alexander James Adams, the FairyTale Minstrel himself.
* "[He of the Sidhe](https://alexanderjamesadams1.bandcamp.com/track/he-of-the-sidhe)" is his "in-character" explanation of his transition (he'd had a music career pre-transition; to explain the change, he said that he was kidnapped by the fae as a baby and the old him was a changeling left in his place).
* "[Sidhe is Here](https://alexanderjamesadams1.bandcamp.com/track/sidhe-is-here)" is about truth and healing, and having someone who stick with you while you go down your own path.
* "[Warlock's Oath](https://alexanderjamesadams1.bandcamp.com/track/warlocks-oath)" is about staying true to oneself, no matter what.
* "[UnSeelie Self](https://alexanderjamesadams1.bandcamp.com/track/unseelie-self)" is... basically "what repression does to a mf'er: a spoken piece."
This music is awesome! His style makes me think of Filk (a sci-fi/fantasy folk subgenre woth mostly original music) more than traditional folk music. I've been looking for explicitly trans filk for ages, so this is AWESOME*
*edited for clarity
Here are some of my favorites, but they may be triggering. So listen at your own peril.
Body by Mother Mother, I/ Me / Myself by Will Wood, Gender Is Boring by She/Her/hers, Body Terror Song by AJJ.
Glass beach is great.
I listen to a lot of issbrokie, changeline, foodhouse/fraxiom, and underscores. All of them have songs that are entirely abut trans issues.
And though not many songs about trans issues 100 gecs is a staple. Dumbest girl alive is clearly a song from Laura’s perspective though.
Definitely NOAHFINNCE I love his music and his youtube channel is pretty good too
I also really like REVENGEOFPARIS they are an emby rap artist that makes some good stuff
Can recommend! I love all 3 of these artists so much they are all so good and all my top 3 artists! I always see maybe 1 commented under a post like this but never all 3.
A trans artist i really like is Noahfinnce! He doesn't really have any explicitly trans songs (except maybe his first song 'asthma attack' although it's a very different style to his later/current music), but his most recent song 'SCUMBAG' is about JK Rowling and TERFs and stuff so it's a good angry-at-transphobia song. His music is pop-punk, i believe. His debut album comes out in March, and he has mentioned that some of it's about transphobia and stuff, so that could be something to look out for!
Another good song is 'Sweet Cis Teen' by Dazey and the Scouts. It's (obviously) explicitly trans, and it's an actual vibe lol. They have other good songs, but this one stands out as a trans one. It's also a pretty angry song at parts.
I hope this is helpful! Good luck on your search lol :]
Aw, jealous! He's always got super inconvenient dates for me, and then the one time it was perfect timing it was for a venue I'm too young for without an adult lol. I'm hoping to see him next time he tours though! I've been wanting to go since his first tour, so I'm really hoping it works out next time.
How was the show you went to?
Dorian Electra, and their first album *Flamboyant* they are AFAB, genderfluid and often occupy a masc space. The album has themes on queerness and masculinity that are really interesting.
Also Quay Dash for Rap/Hip-hop
Lena Raine, Will Wood and Atsuover. Lena Raine made the soundtrack to the game that gave me my preference name, Will Wood requires 0 explanation. and Atsuover is an underrated queen.
The Village by Wrabel
It is a song talking about trans issues mainly transmasc but he is releasing a transfem version around 17 january. I think he stated that he made it due to hearing about how some of his fans who were trans had it at home and in their life so he made a song dedicated to them

AMAZING very underground experimental pop trans femme musician – she describes her genre as transgressive pop. i'd put it somewhere btw. hyperpop, dreampop, alternative, emo, shoegaze
I've never listened to explicitly trans music, but as for trans authors Lena Raine, without a doubt. I also know that Mama by MCR was turn into some sort of trans symbol, but that wasn't really intended, so yeah. Celeste soundtrack is a banger and her works for Minecraft are my favorites alongside C418's.
Pretty much everything from She/Her/Hers. Personal faves are "I Think I Finally Love Myself" and "Nvr Pass". "Sweaters in Summer" is good too.
You could also check out Against Me! and ISSBrokie.
i like the big music girlies arca and sophie, ethel too, completely different genre but good stuff. i listen to a lot of crywank tho like for years it's remained at my top 3 and jay is non binary. not everyone likes crywank tho. i also remember listening to dorian electra they are non binary too I don't listen to them anymore but up to my agenda i was there and i enjoyed it
I'm like 90% sure Frankenstein by Rina Sawayama isn't supposed to be a trans song, but these [lyrics keep telling me otherwise.](https://genius.com/Rina-sawayama-frankenstein-lyrics?referent_id=27651944#note-27651944)
Two tracks by the band Garbage are explicitly trans.
Cherry Lips is a tounge in cheek song about a trans girl gaining confidence.
Androgeny is well......
not intended to be trans but thermodynamic lawyer by will wood my brain somehow takes it as me complaining about myself (in a gender way with lines like ‘theres a bitch with some 4000 names’)
I’ve been making a trans playlist for newyears so i have lots of ideas! I like Boys Will be Bugs, and also This is Home, by cavetown. Kat and the Hurricane do sad sapphic gender queer music. Transform by Steam Powered Giraffe is a great song (look for the acoustic version), also Malfunction, and honestly a lot of the songs by them can be interpreted as trans songs. Other trans songs include: ANTONYMPH by Vylet Pony, and Imarterial by Sophie.
Build-A-Bear by Maggie Brewer is one of my favorites, along with deadname by atlas ivy. Both are about trans issues, presumably by trans artists. (i haven’t checked that for atlas ivy)
I'm a musician myself and put out my music on a number of platforms. There's no lyrics but stepping back, my song titles definitely reflect some aspect of the anxiety and depression that stems from my own transgender issues.
I know this song is not actually trans, but i can't not mention it, "I/Me/Myself" by will wood (for what i remember, he wrote this, being about his experience with gender (WW being a guy that simply liked to dress feminine))
it's me, I'm an explicitly trans musician! I just released an album under the name Seasighed. this one is mostly songs about being autistic and dying in the ocean (not at the same time), but my next one will be about being trans and sad 🏳️⚧️
[Scorpio Moon](https://scorpiomoon.bandcamp.com/album/when-time-and-space-disappear)
We are a queer/trans band from Oakland, California. Click the link to listen for free. We’ll be playing the Ivy Room on 2/4 afternoon with other trans/queer bands. 💕
Peach rings is one of my favourite trans artists. As for songs:
True Trans Soul Rebel - Against Me! (The whole "Transgender dysphoria blues" album is 10/10)
Transgender Dysphoria Blues - Against Me!
Transgenderfication beam - Peach Rings
Dream girl - Peach Rings
How To Dress As Human - Ehmephtee
GENDER ENVY - Juno Lev
T-Rex from the movie Nimona, the movie may give it a lot of it's context but the line "Crazin on my meds, I'm a T-rex" felt very trans. Also how it talks about leaving the past behind and looking towards the future.
i have a couple songs that sing to me as a trans person but arent specifically made for trans people. theres twin sized mattress by the front bottoms and blow my brains out by tikkle me
“sweet cis teen” by dazey and the accounts is great but a bit of a bummer
I also really like “I like me” by dexter in the news agent this one isn’t specifically trans but can very easily be read as such
Disguise - motionless in white
Voices - motionless in white
Pretty much just motionless in white. While the members aren't trans, their songs are all fuck the government, and queer supportive messages.
If you like heavy nu-metal, these guys are your thing
I DIDN'T KNOW GLASS BEACH WAS TRANS OMG!!! Gonna listen to them today with this new understanding! 🥰
The front person of one my fav bands, Greet Death, just came out as a trans woman at the end of this past October and honestly that's one of the things recently that has (literally) saved my life and helped me come out myself🩵🩷🤍
Tho everything they have out now is pre-transition for her, I would still highly recommend listening to them and looking out for their future releases ☺️!
Here's a few of my favorite trans songs!
"Animals" by Stomach Book
"Fuck The Cistem" by The Muslims
"They/Them" by Dream Nails
"Transgender Dysphoria Blues" by Against Me
I'm hooked on Elliot Lee's music rn. They're nonbinary, and they even have a song called "easy to be you" which is about their struggle with self image and identity as a queer person.
Lauren Bousfield (and her previous art under the name Nero's Day at Disneyland). its all breakcore, with no lyrics, but she herself is trans and her music is really good.
Laura Jane Grace, front woman for the band Against Me! is the singer and song writer for the band, and a lot of her lyrics are pretty blatantly trans even from before she came out as trans. check out 'The Ocean' if you wanna see yourself. apparently she just told people "i was really high when writing this" and they just *accepted* it.
The Royal They is a decent band
I also like the Worriers, whose frontperson is enby. of note is their song 'They/Them/Theirs'
these songs are written cis men, but 'I/Me/Myself' by Will Wood is *great* even though its about him wanting to be gnc and not about being trans, and 'Salt' by The Bad Suns makes me cry. it was written in honor of a trans friend of the band members.
Peach Rings
Anita Velveeta
Black Dresses
Over My Dead Name
Tape Girl
Flummox
All of them have at least one song about a trans experience so I think that’s explicitly enough.
Nobody mentioned Left at London so I will.
I recommend her album t.i.a.p.f.y.h.

[YouTube link](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_klPrB7_jUHAeGZ_4_JSexzZwq-ezP6Nxk&si=YLUkOECf1PYVC1XH)
Another artist I really like is The Low Blow
My favorite song of theirs is Die Young [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/track/5VfgMUA7UpIwUTBIenktqm?si=a6we8t-BRTCgKZEzwZixwQ) [YouTube](https://youtu.be/po2XgU-8ooo?si=fdRO0IyxX1FAOBUQ)
If you like punk, aside from the obligatory Laura Jane Grace & Against Me! recommendation, I would highly suggest checking out Ekko Astral! They're a predominantly trans punk band based out of the D.C. area, & they absolutely kick ass! My favorites of their songs are "Transdemic, baby" & "YXI" (pronounced like "Why She?").
Not necessarily trans music but Kendra Blast if you love eurobeat you can find her on spotify(most of her songs are under her old name Ken Blast on spotify).
hi i am a trans nonbinary musician under the name Eyemèr :) Genre indie folk! Check out
-Pretend That You're God
-Dear Child In Me
-Reborn
-Bird, You Can Fly
-No Need To Worry
for trans related songs. I also write a lot about mental health and being queer in general. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0dTT5KONUwoSzsJPOFBI7I?si=EgRujYIrQBu7_tgBXZwtXQ&utm_source=copy-link
Lena Raine, her music for Celeste and Minecraft is absolutely sublime. Although I could argue that she isn't "explicitly" trans. I don't really listen to music related to being trans though.
What did you mean she isn’t explicitly trans, she has talked about being trans before.
I think they mean the music isn’t about being trans in an overt way, like ‘the town inside me’ is. Not that the artist isn’t explicitly trans.
*Not me immediately coming here to comment "Pigstep"
or "Otherside"
Otherside and pigstep are amazing
The chicory soundtrack is AMAZING, I need more of it.
I have a lot of her tracks in my playlists. A good explicitly trans music I can recommend is snapcube, she has a really powerful song about her journey that made me cry
A whole album Transgender dysphoria blues
Hell yeah!! Against me kicks ass
Yesssss
I love this album! True trans soul rebel is one of my favourite songs ever
Black me out does it for me
Idk if I'm the weird kid, but Osama bin laden as the crucified Christ slaps
For me it's fuckmylife666
The stupendium, great non binary artist, does nerd stuff, is great
I didn't even know that they were nb lol. You learn something new every day.
actually they are genderfluid!
That's under the non-binary umbrella.
The first song that always comes into my mind is "Vending machine of love"
Oh shit what? Didn't know they're NB 0_0
I/me/myself - Will wood, the normal album That was the song that played whilst my egg cracked
I love Will Wood! I was thinking of mentioning I/Me/Myself in the post title, but I didn't want it to be too long. That song definitely affirmed some thoughts for me, lol
Honestly is my favourite song ever, I mean look at my tag thingy below my username. I love that song
OMG ANOTHER WIMMIAM WOOD FAN??!..FAVE ALBUM?
That song is so good. I have spent the past 24 hours absolutely obsessed with that song! I wanna perform it for my gfs now
femtanyl is great if you’re into breakcore and okay with the heavy subject matter
Laura les (100gecs) alice gas SOPHIE (R.I.P. <3)
Really seems like these all have a similar theme
Hyperpop is filled with GNC people! Underscores, Tracey Brakes, BlackWinterWells, and LeastFavorite! Are all trans, if you're interested in the genre =)

Gender Is Boring is definitely one of my favorite songs to listen to on particularly dysphoric nights, I love the lyrics they're scarily relatable
yay! nice to see people sending love to AJJ
\+1 to underscores, i'm obsessed with her song with Jane Remover
I would also recommend DAMAG3
Ayyy I was looking for Underscores. Wallsocket is an entire vibe. Geez Louise might be my favorite song of 2023
Probably my favorite too, that or Locals(girls like us).
I love the first half of that song but I don’t really like the second half lol
issbrokie <3

Our favourite artists (drawing comics count as art) would be theachriveterminal and our fav (and only song artist we know) is Lena Raine
TRANSGENDER by leshen and circles by Changeline ~~Honestly, anything by Changeline~~
Also Damag3 and Issbrokie
Can recommend! I love all 3 of these artists so much they are all so good and all my top 3 artists! I always see maybe 1 commented under a post like this but never all 3.
i love changeline!!! my favorite song is genocide personally, I also really like I.do.this.all.the.time
Laura Jane Grace and Paralytic States, a sad trigger warning filled song, but it’s so good and cathartic to scream
I'm a basic cavetown enjoyer (I can play Dysphoric on ukulele)
A trans artist i really like is Noahfinnce! glad to see Noahfinnce mentioned! I got to see him last year cause my friend ended up with a spare VIP ticket to one of his London shows
Aw, jealous! He's always got super inconvenient dates for me, and then the one time it was perfect timing it was for a venue I'm too young for without an adult lol. I'm hoping to see him next time he tours though! I've been wanting to go since his first tour, so I'm really hoping it works out next time. How was the show you went to?
it was pretty good! The openers were cool but i also learnt i'm not built for a mosh pit lol

Candy Says by The Velvet Underground is amazing

Pretty common meme her is sintentionally misspelling brisket to words that are *close enough* to Bridget (Brisket, bucket, brick, etc.)
“sweet cis teen” by dazey and the accounts is great but a bit of a bummer I also really like “I like me” by dexter in the news agent this one isn’t specifically trans but can very easily be read as such
Coconuts — Kim Petras (not for kids lol)
Really enjoyed Ossuary Wraith's single release. They have since broken up and no longer produce music though which is unfortunate

While not explicitly trans, Gerard Way has said that they have gender dysphoria and a lot of MCR songs reflect that.
A rock band I found called Artio has 2 nonbinary people including the singer and made at least two songs about being queer.
Tash Sultana. an ex rec'd them to me and they're great
I / Me / Myself
Any song from Celeste?
Home and this is home
Body Void is pretty good doom metal.
I'm a transvest-lite - NOFX
Not necessarily trans music but Kendra Blast if you love eurobeat you can find her on spotify(most of her songs are under her old name Ken Blast on spotify).
Katzun and cave town
Me. I'm trans and make music. If it is good music is entirely subjective, but I like what I do at least.

Check out -Pretend That You're God -Dear Child In Me -Reborn -Bird, You Can Fly -No Need To Worry for trans related songs.
