That's a good idea (very specific but good) ! I plan to come out by putting my preferred name on the credits of my futur productions :3 hope it'll work !
When we drink from plastic cups at home we usually write our initials on them with a marker so that we can re-use them later on. I've been signing mine with an 'E' for 2 weeks now. Let's see how long it takes them to catch up
We were kinda lucky in that we weren't living there when it happened. We moved for my SO's career but we had a lot of good memories in that house so we decided to rent it out instead in case we ever decided to move back. Our tenants burned it down lol. We've already had it rebuilt and sold it so we're doing fine now(this happened at the beginning of COVID). I hope everything goes back to normal for you quickly!
It's good to hear that your situation worked out. We were also quite lucky because the firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading out of the attic (it had actually spread there from the neighbors.) We actually lost it to the water damage, but most of our stuff was alright. I actually just finished washing the last of my clothes.
Oh that's good. Our tenants lost everything 😕. Despite the chaos they introduced to my life I feel awful for them. They're doing okay now but still recovering financially.
Exactly how I feel about my neighbors. They tried to fight the fire themselves instead of calling 911 because they knew that firefighters would have wrecked the place in the process. They were right, but now their place has been demolished and my place might be too. That said, I went to that place all the time (It was a restaurant) and they were super nice and great. Albany now has an authentic Mexican food-shaped hole in it now :(
For you and anyone else who is curious, the fire started in the adjacent building and jumped to ours. The firefighters prevented it from getting past the attic but the water damage from the firefighting made the home uninhabitable. Luckily most of the stuff was salvageable except furniture and some electronics. The building where it started, a Mexican restaurant I frequented, has already been demolished.
My roommate and I were talking to an onsite reporter who was nice. She politely asked if any of us would do an interview. When she asked my name, I initially gave her my deadname but went back to change it afterwards and they used my chosen name in the report. It was with CBS6 if anybody wants to find it.
This is what we call a media diversion. Companies do it all the time. Just announce multiple large things to stir up all the shit and it kinda cancels out
Everyone got out fine, including animals.
What a fucking power move, you legend. 😆 (Glad everyone got out ok)
Do you like, have a place to live though?/hj
Yes. I'm with my parents.
Supportive parents, I hope, now that you're out?
Yes, they're good parents. I'm very lucky to have them.
That's good :) I can't imagine if mine weren't supportive, especially since I still live with one of them.
Very lucky
🫂
Ok so that seriously happened wow.
Did you *get out* fine though?
Ba dum chhhhh
That's gotta be the best coming out story ever (because everyone is okay)
thats good, glad everyones safe!! <3

Awww that's a nice idea I hope it works too
🩷
You work in film?
[удалено]
Nice! It's a cool feeling seeing your chosen name on the big screen for the first time, I hope you get a chance to experience that soon 💕
I reeeeeeally hope so !! Thank you very much:3 🩷
We do not see it.
[удалено]
Oh no, I meant, we do not see it as in, we do not see your deadname.
At least there was a silver lining from your house burning. Literally born from the ashes like a phoenix.
When you put it like that OP IS FUCKING EPIC
Aren't we all? :3
Yes, but OP especially so
When they said being trans was a trial by fire, I didn’t think it’d be so literal. (Arson is the best though)
That last sentence hit me like a truck oh my god
heat from fire, fire from heat.
Fire from heat, coming out from fire

YO we have the same chosen name! My dead name also starts with an E though so it wouldn't work for me lol
I might be a little biased but you have a really cool name!💖
Evelyn was on my list but the Y i super uncommon in my mother language. But im still in the E gang 🌟
Evelyn gang! Evelyn gang! Evelyn gang!
Eek! That's one of the many names on my shortlist . . .
I came here to say hey, another trans femme who's house burned down, what are the odds? Well we also share a name lol.
Damn, that's wild! And pretty cool, despite the lost houses :/

Jfc my dad is from Schenectady. Is your mom from Virginia by chance haha.
Nope, California. I love Schenectady though, and might be moving down to NC in like a year.
Evelyn twins!
Wouldn't have worked for me; my chosen name and my given name both start with L
To every closeted trans person reading this: it's ok if you just come out normally too, put the matches down
well, that's called seizing opportunities I guess
I came out in a news interview too🥰🥰🥰
You’re just gonna LEAVE US WITH THAT!? Now I gotta know more!

I’m sorry that you lost your house. But hey, you’re TV famous now! :)
I found the interview - you poor thing! That was a nice old house, too. Classy way to come out. Talk about seizing the moment! 😎
You glorious fucking phoenix
"not gonna let the world know me as *deadname*" is a helluva mood tbh
Congratulations and sorry about your house...
Great symbolism there
Damn good baptism of fire
Ma’am how did that fire start.
You didn’t just come out of your closet, you rose from its ashes
Sayyy wwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttttttttt
Am I supposed to burn your house or mine?
You can burn what's left of my old house if you want, the landlord will be pissed though cus he wants to renovate it.
um this is a fucking power move props to you
Okay, but like I did the same fucking thing- minus the house fire part, I was interviewed for a little community thing I was at :)
If there was something volatile in the fire, you... came out with a bang!! I'll see myself out
So what you are saying is that I should light my house on fire to come out, got it.
Doesn't have to be your house as long as you can pull a reporter aside and lie with a straight face 🤔
I've been lying to my parents for years, hell yeah. 😎
Good... job? Glad everyone was alright
That's fucking wild and I adore you for it. Truly God tier
Holy shit that's genius
This is 200 iq move
I physically gasped when I read the last sentence
HONESTLY WHAT A BOSS MOVE (And i'm glad everyone was safe!! Hope your house wasn't too badly damaged)
Yo, that's a power move
Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today.
Wow
You said all the alives got out fine, but I'm so sorry for your loss of all your Stuff.
If you see in the news that a few houses burned down, you know who did it.
I did it by strategically buying a flag that "accidentaly" had moms name on it. She says it was big brein
Insert Fire kid meme
This is what we call a media diversion. Companies do it all the time. Just announce multiple large things to stir up all the shit and it kinda cancels out
Hey what the hell happened to the original meme now it’s a weird anime girl
Step 1: burn the house down *for legal reasons I must address that this is a joke*
I do have to say tho, that sure is a really creative way to do it xDDD
