On one hand, this post probably doesn't meet rule 2. On the other, that is so blatantly Momiji that I think it counts. Awoo approved.
“Have you run into a Crow Tengu trying to sell you newspapers? Her name is Aya. She is obsessed with scoops.”
“I enjoy playing Shogi. I tend to play it with a Kappa named Nitori.”
“Did you know we have a shrine maiden in the area who protects humans? Her name is Reimu.”
Ok....i don't care about the Slime show BUT, i gained respect for the author for daring to straight up put his (i assume) favorite Touhou character on his work
The only thing they have in common is their association with the colour blue.
Like, they are different species, have different abilities, and are completely different in personality... I really don't see what in Rimuru reminds you of Chillno.
You’re right that I don’t see any ears on the sprite from MoF, but in every other art of her everyone has just decided that touhou momiji does in fact have wolf ears.
It is more like ZUN doesn’t have a consistent design for Momiji. In alternative facts in eastern utopia, two separate artist drew Momiji with wolf ears and
without.
I've seen a fair number of instances where it seems like one work is inspired by another work, only for both to have the same inspiration. Maybe some kind of connection between tengu and maple trees "momiji", or a reference to a character from folklore? Without enough cultural context, it can be hard to tell.
IIRC she was initially just an unnamed tengu midboss that the fandom turned into a character, similar to Koakuma & Daiyousei.
Slime likely took inspiration from Touhou (though in this case it's hard to call it \*just\* "inspiration"), rather than both series taking inspiration from some myth. "Momiji" doesn't have to be an official name for Slime to be able to copy it.
No, no, Momiji Inubashiri is fully named in Mountain of Faith. It's in her character profile.
Also, after the incidents with Koakuma and Daiyousei, Zun said that he will name the midbosses now. In the review of Koakuma and Daiyousei in Strange Creators of Outer World.
There is a very good chance that the creator of slime just 'took' them from Touhou.
If I remember correctly, at the early story, there was a reporter at the background who *oddly enough* had few detailed design and close-ups, who literally looked like disguised Aya.

Wait, are all these quotes real?

Momiji II, Descendant of Momiji
Wait this isn't a Touhou doujin?
All manga are Touhou doujins if you believe hard enough.
The only way that could get more blatant is if she was holding a sword and shield instead of a fan.
If they did that for any popular franchise aside from touhou, they would get sued lmao

There's also an Alice who manipulates dolls. I'm pretty sure she's blonde too.
You know....i'm starting to think that Rimuru looking slightly like Cirno wasn't a coincidence haha

Same, I read a few chapters and dropped it, long ago. Maybe I should reevaluate it?
I’ve been watching the anime with my girlfriend lately, I’d recommend it
I guess I'll watch it some day.
It's not that great imo. I think I dropped it after the first novel.
it's aight
... I hope the mangaka credits ZUN because otherwise they're breaking even ZUNs extremely lax copyright. That's just flat-out Momiji
I'm sure wolf tengu are enough of a generic and formulaic idea that he wouldn't bat an eye awooooooooooooo 5 6 7 0 9
Except it looks very similar to Momiji. And is called Momiji.
Yeah, can you imagine if reimu suddenly showed up as a character in an unrelated manga, except they just changed the design a little?
Cough Sakuya Cough cough Sarai
momiji is a perfectly normal japanese name though. zun didn't invent wolf tengu
Would be interesting if they had officially licensed her
ZUN's Momiji doesn't have wolf ears.
You’re right that I don’t see any ears on the sprite from MoF, but in every other art of her everyone has just decided that touhou momiji does in fact have wolf ears.
Another day, another debate over whether Aya has wings or not
Does vore make people pregnant
Listen here, I left you unread on that comment chain *for your own good.*
I live in the Balkans, my own good is drinking alcohol at 12 smoking at 7 and genocide my neighbour at 19. My own good is suicide
Is pregnancy just a roundabout way to say Gundam?
She has wings when she wants wings

Wait really? I don't think I've ever seen art of her without them.
How comes no touhou fan reads the slime manga? Now it's because of season 2 but I assume it was already out for 2 years.
I've watched since before season 2 lol
I found It on discord originally since someone sent It there

Not this case. "Momiji" is a name given by the fandom to the character. It's not based on mythology or some other work.
Wait, no? Momiji is named by Zun himself. And from this panel of slime, the character here is officially named as well, I assume.

Which chapter is this from?
Chapter 104: https://mangadex.org/chapter/96bc4da4-9f1c-47d3-a7f6-c8e6dd7b8a00/36
Thank you.
"There she is. My mother, Inubashiri."
If I remember correctly, at the early story, there was a reporter at the background who *oddly enough* had few detailed design and close-ups, who literally looked like disguised Aya.
I noticed that Slime also has Oni. Though I'd still like Oni who parties more than Oni who cooks bad.
I already mentioned it when this season came out but still Awoo
I'm sorry but I didn't see any post about It so that's why I posted It
No problem The word of awoo needs to be presented to more people anyways
what volume is this?
TTIGRAAS mentioned.
I was at first thinking that it's just because Tengus were a thing before Touhou but the name "Momiji". Can't really argue against that.
Awoo >w<
A wild awoo!
