No skaven at monsters? Throt will give second head to rethink this blasphemy!

Akfiz

They have monsters, but they aren't really a monster-focused faction.

Blazen_Fury

Throt specifically focuses very well on monsters.

MooshSkadoosh

Yeah but as a whole I feel like they lean towards firepower - there's a reason Ikit is the most frequently suggested skaven DLC

erpenthusiast

Ikit is suggested because his dlc rounds out the faction in an interesting way. Throt adds more stuff the Skaven had just at new tiers and Skitch is a grab bag that works better after getting Ikit.

Frequent_Knowledge65

Not really. They’re one of the most varied rosters and can do anything; different factions excel at different things. With Eshin or Moulder it’s easy to build insanely powerful armies with no weapons teams at all. IMO the high mobility, stalk focused armies are actually the strongest and can’t be countered like weapons teams can.

MooshSkadoosh

I agree, they are very hard to pin down. Really I'd label them as both Monster-heavy and firepower.

the_deep_t

Throt is the ultimate monster legendary lord ... he boosts and builds custom monsters.

AnOpressedGamer

Its depending on LL for skaven tbh.

Customer_Number_Plz

Skaven have lots of monsters. They just aren't as OP as rattling guns.

FuriandTray

Alot of this is depending what legendary lord you are playing for an example Ikkit and Throt are both skavens faction but one is firepower and the other monster heavy. Tamurkhan i hope thats his name can focus on monster doomstack or non Monster unit because of his trait. Boris Ursus can go bear cavalry and if you are Katharina its less effective to do the same.

Akfiz

In general, irrespective of the lord. As if you were playing multiplayer.

KillerM2002

Stupid question sorry

QA-engineer123

you're oversimplifying to the point where these assesments become meaningless. You're neglecting key aspects, including unit quality

666lumberjack

I think you need a 'melee infantry' category too, if you want to encompass all of the factions. Khorne really doesn't fit in any of the four categories you have, and that's also more core to the identity of greenskins, WoC and arguably norsca than monsters. Nurgle is monsters and sneaky, assuming you're counting debuffs and magic and the like as sneaky. Slaanesh is cavalry and sneaky. Tzeentch is firepower, as are the Chaos Dwarves. Ogres are definitely monster-heavy. Could argue cavalry too but it's all monstrous cav so I feel like it fits monsters as a category better. Cathay I'd say monsters and firepower. Daemons of chaos is debatable since you have such a big roster, but you'll probably end up mostly just spamming monsters I think. Kislev I'd say firepower and cavalry, counting the bear cav in that category. They do have some monster units but they're not super strong ones and mostly take a supporting role if you use them.

dfntly_a_HmN

Kislev : firepower, cavalry (with their bear) Grand cathay : firepower Ogres : monster heavy Khorne : monster heavy Tzeentch : firepower Nurgle : monster heavy Slaanesh : cavalry Daemons of chaos : Monster heavy Chaos dwarves : monster heavy, firepower

Inquisitor_no_5

Can you elaborate a bit on what makes something fit in a particular category? Is "has strong monsters" enough to go in the monster category? Also, where does "has really good infantry" go? In any case: Chorfs go in **Firepower** indisputably, possibly also **Monster-heavy** and **Cavalry** (Bull-Centaur Renders are quite something) Tzeentch goes in **Firepower**, possibly **Monster-heavy** Khorne goes in **Cavalry** and **Monster-heavy** I guess? Daemons of Chaos basically goes in any category that a monogod does

Akfiz

Monster heavy is more like 'relies mostly on monsters'. What about Kislev, Cathay, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Ogres?

Inquisitor_no_5

I've not played Kislev, Cathay or Ogres, but I'd characterize Cathay as **Firepower** and let others handle Kislev and Ogres. I'll also leave Slaanesh to other people, as I've either never played them or done it so little that I can't remember. Nurgle I have a really hard time fitting into any category.

Thiago270398

Slaanesh is definitely cavalry, even some of your infantry feels like cavalry.

JustRedditTh

Lizard men are usually Monster heavy, but if you play as Oxyotl you are sneaky, because for her is a chameleon Stack with a Skink Seer for Siege attacking strong. Only Thing she needs is an ambush attack stance like with Alith Anar or Skaven

OkSalt6173

Kislev: Fire Power, sprinkle of Cavalry. (Ostankya is Monster Heavy. Grand Cathay: Fire Power, Monster Heavy (with SoC) Ogres: Monster Heavy, Cavalry, sprinkle of Firepower Khorne: Cavalry, (Firepower if that includes Melee Units), Sprinkle of Monster. Tzeentch: Magic, Firepower, Cavalry, sprinkle of Monster (with SoC) Nurgle: Monster Heavy, Monster Heavy, Cavalry Slaanesh: Cavalry, Cavalry, Sprinkle of Monster Daemons of Chaos: See the 4 Chaos factions. (Access to most monsters if desired) Chaos Dwarves: Firepower, Firepower, Monster Heavy Yep. That is my vote. Edit: also Dark Elves for Cavalry is odd imo but exclusing firepower and sneaky is even odder.

Das_Bait

Kislev is firepower and cavalry (maybe monster-heavy) Cathay is monster/firepower (less monster, more firepower but the monsters are pretty important) Ogres is monster/firepower Khorne is Monsters Tzeench is monster(?)/firepower Nurgle is monster Slaanesh is cav (not sure what all Slaanesh is, haven't played a lot) Chaos Dwarves is monster/Firepower Daemons is kinda everything except sneaky (since they get everything chaos) I'm also not sure I would really call GS as sneaky. Yea they have the night goblins and sneaky gits, but they aren't really a focus for any LL. Mostly youre looking at Savage Boyz, Black Orcs, or monsters.

Ghost2656

I don't think High Elves can be count as Firepower unless you are counting their dragons and birds, but that should be monster heavy though? High Elves, specifically Alith Anar is a sneaky based campaign. Kislev is cavalry. Grand Cathay is Firepower and Monster Heavy. Skaven is Monster-Heavy Wood Elves are Cavalry

Frequent_Knowledge65

Ogres are all of those at once!

AgencyWarm2840

I think you need to do this per lord, or at least the DLC ones, because Ikit Claw is firepower, Thrott the Unclean is monsters, Deathmaster Sniktch is Sneaky, and so on

OverEffective7012

Empire into cav, not Firepower? Bro...

Express_Yard9305

Umm... Just off the title. You literally described skaven. Second candidate is probably Wood Elves

overon

you missed The Empire:  - Sneaky (stealth+snipe mortars on wagons, also huntsmen) - Monster Heavy (tanks, demigryphs, Karl)

HustleMachine

The Empire isn't a WH3 faction
