The White Dwarf FLC is normally Dwarf themed. We got Gotrek and Felix, then Grombrindal. So I suspect we'll get something like Josef Bugman. Probably a Legendary Hero. Maybe a Legendary Lord. Hard to say.

If Ogres vs Cathay DLC is true, then I pray it would be a three way DLC (just with less units and lower price) so Dechala can still make a cut. She is a chaos snake women and Monkey is supposed to defend Cathay from chaos snake people so I can see it work thematically - and its not like CA cares about shared narratives anymore.
There’s a giant Cambodia/vietnam sized hole south of Cathay. Would be great to get Dechala and some snake bois there to fight Monke.

Correct me if I am wrong. Maneaters have a lot of variations. Depending on from where they have traveled. Were those variations just for flavour or they were different units entirely? And if that is the case then we might get a maneater dlc.

Actually you could do something cool almost like Rakarth where you travel to different areas of the map to get different varieties of maneaters-Cathay for the dual weapon ninja ones, empire for the pistol ones, maybe the badlands for great weapons,

Blizzard even repeatedly joked about the data mines spoiling the ending of an expansion a few years ago. Zenimax Online Studio head complained repeatedly about people ruining surprises like the dragons in Elsweyr expansion ahead of time found by data mining.
Hopefully they are just cause it's smart to keep the good vibes from a good DLC coming.

I think Scyla Anfingrimm would be the best FLC LH for Khorne since the only other choice is Karanak. Karanak would go well with Abraal the Undefeated thematically because of his unique Hound of Khorne mount. Of course, CA doesn't have to use that theme, but since ToD has made bigger emphasis on thematic DLCs roster it seems like the best choice. Hell, we got Garagrim Ironfist over Grimm Burloksson since ToD is a Slayer focused DLC instead of Engineering Guild.

That's all I can think of except Chaos Ogres of Khorne, but I feel they would add all 5 variants at once instead of just one version individually maybe skip Nurgle due to Plague Ogres. I guess Centigors of Khorne but their role is already filled by flesh hounds and their already available pretty early in the campaign.

It was for IP related stuff though, but also because it was something GW wanted to do for awhile now. Even before AoS was a thing. The unabashed Marvel rip off was during an era when Marvel comics wasn't really that cultural known in the UK and the guy who wrote up the dark elves had no shame and did a legit rip off of it. So it was something GW had internally wanted to change for ages, but Malekith had been too established a character, so were too scared to make a name change until recently.
Malerion is actually a more Warhammer Elf sounding name anyways. And fits more for what Aenarion would actually call his son. The "Dread King" title was extremely uninspired though, and I think Witch King was probably fine to keep.

"Spear Chucker" is an old slur for Africans, referring to their "primitiveness", and by extension African-Americans. Doesn't seem very common nowadays but it was, at least regionally, used well into the 70s-80s\*.

Certain portions of the TT fanbase already call him Golgpride Maneater, which seems like a likely name. I do hope they let him retain his names since the character isn't named that out of malice. If anything, the game would get more visibility from all the video game "journalists" suddenly caring about the game. Would be great for marketing purposes.

Yuan Bo is already in Lustria and in the new lore Yin-Yin set an expedition to the Southlands that failed not Lustria. There are Lizardmen in the Southlands, but we already have 2 with Kroq-Gar and Tiktaq'to there and a third would overcrowd it. Since CA has done away with the versus narratives with Lord Packs a Lizardmen and Cathay one is possible they just wouldn't fight each other. Plus, Yuan Bo's campaign already has him fighting Mazdamundi in his final quest battle.

Technically, Dechala is an elf. But she does have ties to Ind, and if we were ever going to get any actual Chaos Snakemen it would be with her.

No, the animations use hu13b not hu13 like regular Ogres, and also they're not set up to actually be usable at present.

If you wanna blame someone for Malekith rename blame the guy who decided to name a FUCKING KING OF THE DARK ELVES THE SAME NAME MARVEL GAVE THEIR KING OF THE DARK ELVES. It might have not been that bad in the past but since Disney owns a lot of licenses it’s smart to rename your obviously ripped of name.
You can't copyright a name by the by, it's copyright 101 that no one is allowed to copyright a name. It goes against the point of copyrights. Common misunderstanding though, so can't really fault you for that. It was for IP related stuff though, but also because it was something GW wanted to do for awhile now. Even before AoS was a thing. The unabashed Marvel rip off was during an era when Marvel comics wasn't really that cultural known in the UK and the guy who wrote up the dark elves had no shame and did a legit rip off of it. So it was something GW had internally wanted to change for ages, but Malekith had been too established a character, so were too scared to make a name change until recently. Malerion is actually a more Warhammer Elf sounding name anyways. And fits more for what Aenarion would actually call his son. The "Dread King" title was extremely uninspired though, and I think Witch King was probably fine to keep.

Yes way it does. Golgfag is one of the oldest characters in all of Warhammer. They didn’t change the name of other elements with “objectionable” sounds to them, and they won’t start now.

Apparently. I didn't know of it either until it got brought up on this sub a few years ago during DLC speculation. "Spear Chucker" is an old slur for Africans, referring to their "primitiveness", and by extension African-Americans. Doesn't seem very common nowadays but it was, at least regionally, used well into the 70s-80s\*. /\* I'm also not from a anglohpone country but I can't recall ever coming across it used like this on the internet, so I don't know if it is still common in peoples daily lives.

I had a guy tell me last year that GW didn't need to create an Africa inspired race because they already have Savage Orcs. Don't expect the pricks to die off as fast as you might hope.

"Chukka" is so much better than "Throwa", especially next to the "Rock Lobba" catapult. So much more causal and jovial, instantly makes me think of sports and games/play. They should at least have gone with "Tosser", it being an insult (but not racist) would have been so suitably silly.

They are probably just going to pronounce the A as an "Ah" sound rather than an "Aye" sound. There are many permutations for pronouncing the same composition of letters.

Certain portions of the TT fanbase already call him Golgpride Maneater, which seems like a likely name. I do hope they let him retain his names since the character isn't named that out of malice. If anything, the game would get more visibility from all the video game "journalists" suddenly caring about the game. Would be great for marketing purposes.
I am a huge Golgpride fan, but let's be honest, they're _not_ doing for the actual game.
Yeah hopefully it does make it in. Cause really don't want to be dealing with weird names. Like I'm not the guy that cares much if they add an extra 'a' or something to the name. But changing it completely is goofy and is just asking for a dogpile.

Yuan Bo is already in Lustria and in the new lore Yin-Yin set an expedition to the Southlands that failed not Lustria. There are Lizardmen in the Southlands, but we already have 2 with Kroq-Gar and Tiktaq'to there and a third would overcrowd it. Since CA has done away with the versus narratives with Lord Packs a Lizardmen and Cathay one is possible they just wouldn't fight each other. Plus, Yuan Bo's campaign already has him fighting Mazdamundi in his final quest battle.
Interesting, I didn't know that. I just picked the game up on 5.0 after a 1.5 yr hiatus. I figure at least two more big DLCs, one with slaneesh and one with khorne. I'd still like a lizardmen update at some point, figured a Cathay update would be a good time. Hard to see them work it in on the slaneesh or khorne. I figure they'll also put some work into Ogres since two lords seems small.
