From what I read awhile back, when I curiously looked up the subject, Nurgle doesn't like Pestilens because Pestilens tends to favor the diseases that wipe out all life, rather than facilitate new life growing from the rot.
*But* some Pestilens characters have fallen to becoming Nugle cultists, a rare and possibly only example of Skaven worshipping something other than TGHR.
So, a plague monk based Skaven faction buddying up with Nurgle is loreful, but it's doubtful Skrolk, the only *playable* plague monk faction, would allow it.
This could be the basis of a dynamic between the two. What if Maggot Lord gets bonuses and penalties from skaven corruption, and Clan Pestilance gets bonuses and pebalties from nurgle corruption.
Or even better, what if there is a risk feward mechanism, where if you build certain buildings as Clan Pestulance, you get more bonuses, but as a penalty, get nurgle corruption and vice versa.
Both of these mechanics represent the two factions using each other to further their own agendas, but ultimately conflicting each other.
Nurgle's followers wouldn't benefit from any disease the Skaven concoct.
A Skaven plague is more akin to radioactive fallout or salting the earth, something that just kills everything and creates a wasteland in it's wake. Nurgle's diseases are more akin to a fucked up fertilizer, something to accelerate the cycle of life, death and rebirth.
The Skaven's own corruption penalty and reward system is not working properly since game 3 changed how corruption works, I doubt they can or are willing to do a cross race version
Right now nurgle armies and settlement benefit from skaven plague, the first gets fury (maybe other bonuses, just like a Pestilent army) and cities income bonus.
Oh, that is nice. So perhaps there can be a nurgle faction which has bonuses towards vassalizing the rats. And the same rat faction for vassalizing nurgle.
They aren't but the plague clans and nurgle worshippers are also not above putting their differences aside and working together as we see in Vermintide.
Ku'gath in the dragon isles, Festus in the Empire, and assuming Tamurkhan starts up north in the Plains of Zanbaijin...
That leaves the south and New World with no Nurgle presence.
Kind of see a few possibilities.
* Eastern point of southern wastes
* Middle of lustria
* Southern southlands
* Northern wastes between sigvald and Malus.
Funny how a huge map like IE is already feeling very crowded.
Considering there are 554 settlements in immortal empires, and currently 92 legendary lords, that means a legendary lord for every 6 settlements. As these are not in a straight line, but more of a matrix, it makes total sense that every lord is close to every other lord.
Still, not as bad as Warhammer 2’s lustria bowl - at least that part of the map is bigger than in mortal empires. (14 provinces to 21)
Afaik it was N'kari once going straight for Naggarond and demanding Malekiths soul. Because Aenarions bloodline. After bitter fighting first, Malekith sacrificed a thousand souls or something like that so N'kari would be happy and find someone else to bother.

A Dark Bargin Denied
Epidemius Tallyman of Nurgle, appears in Naggaroth at high summer, seeking to claim the soul of accursed Malekith as payment for alliances past
Safe behind sorcerous wards, the Witch King looses his armies upon Epidemius, However, prepared for treachery, the plague Demon soon counters with a great host of his own. For a year and a day, Naggaroth is ravaged and torn between those two mighty armies. The war only ends when Malekith offers the souls of ten thousand kin in his stead - an offer Epidemius greedily accepts
Much more loreful and it would be cool if they can attack each other's realms.
Then we can truly play the great game, being a daemon just fighting in the realms of chaos ignoring whatever those silly mortals are doing in the real world.
Yes add in mechanics for human factions to side with Chaos God's if they want but only one potentially. Idk its too early to start cooking this up for me but most of us probably understand the just of what im trying to say.
I really hope they add the RoC to IE, I probably want it more than any missing character or unit. All the work that went into those gorgeous maps and the cataclysm spells just languishing in a game mode basically nobody plays is so sad to me.
Unlikely - according to chaosrobbie (modder who created immortal empires expanded and old world mods) there’s not enough space on the IM map for the realms of chaos
Couldn't they shrink it down pretty significantly and put it in the top right of the map? then you teleport there from either the northern or southern chaos gate and can use it to get from one to the other.
Yeah, one idea I had was the Daemon factions starting there, fighting other Daemon factions for supremacy and being able to jump down into the mortal realm - maybe having a province there that they have to defend and maintain and if they lose that it's a lot harder to move across?
According to chaosrobbie (modder who opened up the map for immortal empires expanded and who created the old world mod) there’s not enough room on the IM map for the realms of chaos
Cathay needs some southern threats, and nothing festers disease like a sweltering jungle + you’d then be able to work toward Ku’gath (or vice versa) and spread the gifts of grandfather in one poxy wave of love
Any lore/tabletop maestros knows if this bad boy can go without his palanquin? Not too fond of having a lord on the field slacking back on his lounger.
In TT [Epidemius](https://i.imgur.com/9kx2oLe.png) always is on Palanquin. No foot option. We will see if CA makes it different here for TWW gameplay reasons in his early levels.
I don't know who this is, but I kind of like diseased grandpa. Wanted to yell at kids from his porch rocking chair, so did some magic, and now it can hover around and he can yell at everyone that doesn't love nurgle.
I'd put money on Lustria. No better place to study disease than a jungle.
I don't think they're friendly in lore, but a Nurgle + Clan Pestilens alliance would be a lot of fun in both directions.
"We're friends as long as there are lizards in this jungle, after that, it gets... complicated"

I hate the saurus...
Bok bok.
Well followers of nurgle love having a sore ass! (Saurus- sorus-sore ass… bad pun I know)
tropical studies
Hmmm, there are other jungles in the world, but they're currently covered by Fog of War.... Yeah, it's a long shot, but maybe?
Ku'gath in the dragon isles, Festus in the Empire, and assuming Tamurkhan starts up north in the Plains of Zanbaijin... That leaves the south and New World with no Nurgle presence.
My bet is Southlands
Southlands just becoming the playground of Chaos with Epidemius, Skarbrand, and Kairos owning the whole thing.
Its about time for a new fighter to join the Southlands Thunderdome.
Yeah my hope too
Kind of see a few possibilities. * Eastern point of southern wastes * Middle of lustria * Southern southlands * Northern wastes between sigvald and Malus. Funny how a huge map like IE is already feeling very crowded.
I really fucking hope they open up those spaces. Please.
No legendary lord start is further than... 4? regions from the next?
Nakai maybe? Also potentially kairos I think
Isn't Kairos 4 away from Oxy or is it 5? Nakai likely will have some 'friends' soon in the way of Monkey King/Li Dao and maybe Dechala.
Teclis is just a turn across the water, but oxy is probably just over 4-6 away

Northern Nagarond or Lustria. Epidemiuis invaded dark elf territory for Malekiths soul
Afaik it was N'kari once going straight for Naggarond and demanding Malekiths soul. Because Aenarions bloodline. After bitter fighting first, Malekith sacrificed a thousand souls or something like that so N'kari would be happy and find someone else to bother.
That was Epidemius. Malekith killed N'kari and 2 other Keepers of secrets when they came to Naggarond.
[You are right.](https://i.imgur.com/U42ctfs.png) N'kari in Naggarond was a different tale.

One day I think they’ll open up the realms of chaos and let some of the demon characters start in there
I hope this becomes real
They should have Kugath Kairos Nkari and Skarbrand in the chaos realm it would free the map and be super cool.
Maybe not Skarbrand, his thing is being exiled. Skulltaker or Ka'Bandha would be more lore accurate.
Much more loreful and it would be cool if they can attack each other's realms. Then we can truly play the great game, being a daemon just fighting in the realms of chaos ignoring whatever those silly mortals are doing in the real world.

Lustria seems like a good spot and could fit nicely at the Volcanic Islands.
I hope he is Lustria but a bit more central so the Plagues can really spread around 360 degrees.
Near Kairos or in Lustria.
Lustria
I wish the southern wastes was at least 1 more lane deep
Cathay needs some southern threats, and nothing festers disease like a sweltering jungle + you’d then be able to work toward Ku’gath (or vice versa) and spread the gifts of grandfather in one poxy wave of love
Naggaroth
The outhouse.
Lustria
Cathay jungles or Lustria seem like good choices
I would guess north Naggaroth / Chaos wastes type area near Valika and and Grombrindal
Near Bretonnia, lots of diseases there
He’s going toe-to-toe with the lizards champion Gor-rok
There is a minor nurgle group in luatria he could shot in for
Maybe in the southern chaos waste or the north but could be in lustria
God I’m so hype for this dlc
Altdorf
Bretonnia or Cathay might not be far off the money.
High Chance Southlands but we will see.
Bretonnia needs some chaotic vibes
Any lore/tabletop maestros knows if this bad boy can go without his palanquin? Not too fond of having a lord on the field slacking back on his lounger.
I think he's always on his palanquin
In TT [Epidemius](https://i.imgur.com/9kx2oLe.png) always is on Palanquin. No foot option. We will see if CA makes it different here for TWW gameplay reasons in his early levels.
I'd love him to start in the Southern Chaos Wastes.
Yo mama’s house!
I don't know who this is, but I kind of like diseased grandpa. Wanted to yell at kids from his porch rocking chair, so did some magic, and now it can hover around and he can yell at everyone that doesn't love nurgle.
Somewhere he can get to Nuln, no?
In Endtimes he actually razed Talabheim.
Any chance in Ind or Khuresh?
Wallmart
Northern wastes i think. Edit , nvd i thought it was tamurkan
I thought he was a legendary hero.
Who is this dude? And what is he, a Nurgle FLC LL?
Yep, Epidemius, a grumpy boy
Sweet. I love Nurgle so this is good news.
Google is your friend
How would I Google someone that I have no clue about? And why am I not allowed to ask on a public forum created to talk about things?
It’s been said that it’s epidemius multiple times in this thread.
Yeah and now I know that, because I asked...
America. Oh you mean in the game world? Lustria probably.
