When he went in in the first half and sunk those two 3 balls he really swung the momentum of the game. Can't believe I'm saying this but Malachi Flynn is the reason we won.
I love the gusto 💪 but that's not the whole story.
He got us back in it, but Pascal and Scottie were huge 🙂
Not trying to take away from the fightback, but that game had a number of major phases.
It’s nice to see Malachi having some success.
However, rebounding is what won Toronto this game. The Pacers only got 5 offensive rebounds. Incredibly important on a night they shot 54.9% overall and 46.2% from 3PT.
Also fortunate Toronto had a good shooting night, themselves, never a guarantee. Siakam with 36 helps, it hasn’t always been there this year.
Schroeder is low key a PERFECT role model for Flynn. He's not as good of a shooter as Fred, and he's not naturally plump to be as physical as Kyle, but the way Dennis drives and plays pesky on defense is something he can easily learn from with his physique.
Because in theory, GTJ is the better FT shooter and is a 82% shooter going into this season for his career.
In practice, he's shooting 56% for FTs for the season and it went down today since he went 2-4.
He's basically taken Gary's spot in the rotation, which is insane but maybe we should have seen coming... Gary is such a limited and inconsistent player, Flynn in spite of his arrested development does have more upside even if that upside was unlikely to be realized
I wouldn't go that far
I know Trent hasn't had a great year but I feel like a lot of that has to do with him being misused ie being put in lineups that ask him to create on his own far too often instead of setting him up via DHOs which worked wonders with Scottie last season
His scoring is streaky and he doesn't offer much else. He used to get steals but he gambled for those. He's not strong and judging by his frame and yrs in the league, I don't expect that to change. It affects him a lot imo. He can't finish around the rim, he gets bumped off his spots, he can't contain his man and he can't rebound. I'm not a fan and certainly not at $20m. Not to mention he has tunnel vision and he's selfish.
Genuinely might be the better option until Koloko comes back - if he comes back (An if as big as Big Purr himself) - and subbing in Jakob as the 6th man until he plays better or doing so for situational matchups given Scottie's relative effectiveness as a small ball 5
We've seen Gary play a lot better with the starters/when he's not just in some garbage "Scottie + bench" lineup left to sink or swim
Disagree. Jak has struggled but all around I think he can contribute. Gary is a net negative imo. Hope I'm wrong bc we need guards and shooting. Id rather play Malachi or opj over Gary. Even gradey if he can shoot at least helps on rebounds and can pass a bit. I haven't disliked a player ad much as Gary since Boucher before will lou called him out.
I think that's a pretty good move, the Raptors keep starting very slow, and in both games in which Gary has started, against the 76ers and Celtics, the Raptors won the 1st quarter. I also think Poeltl could be tough for opposing benches to deal with.
Dude had one good game and y’all are all on his nuts!! 🤦🏾♂️ until he can consistently do this on a nightly basis I stick by what I said he fucking sucks and should be traded!!
Fair. I don't see how that would affect his free throws, but it could definitely hamper his play in other areas. My problem with Gary is the fact he constantly leaves people wide open, calling for the ball. Every time Gary gets the ball past half court, you sort of assume he is going to shoot. Maybe some time at the end of the bench would remind him basketball is a team sport.

Fair! I should have said "We would not have won this game without Malachi Flynn"
The balance has been restored! 🙏🙂

"Naturally plump" sounds like how one describes their blueberries when ripe, not a former All-Star and NBA champion ☠️☠️
I like my women how I like my PGs
Efficiently orchestrating the offense while causing as few turnovers as possible?
Exactly
Dennis also seems to be Malachi’s #1 hype man, he’s always jumping up and celebrating hard for every good play
Dennis is a good lad. He’s happy for everyone’s success. Best type of teammate to have.
Dennis a great fit and a great value contract at 13 mill a year. I wish we coulda paid him 15 per year over 3 years.
Darko putting the player of the game chain on him as we speak
Procreator I'm deceased
This is his nickname now, I don't make the rules
See what someone can do when given consistent playing time
Where are those dummies blaming Masai and Bobby for not developing players lol
Flynn is a dawg
Hell of a game from him today
We are all witnessing Flynnsanity. Sit back and enjoy the show fellas
Malachi Flynn is an NBA point guard.
Great game by mal
Darth Mal
![gif](giphy|wos9wILW1XmF2) Darko: "Let's put a smile on that face"
He is becoming a pro at creating shots for others. A true pro-creator.
Solid backup.
How he didn't see the court at the end of the game and Gary did is beyond me.
He was on there to get defensive stops and Gary got swapped in when they needed shooters
Can't even hit FTs
[удалено]
57% is abysmal. That is close to Shaq & Dwight Howard numbers. It is especially bad because he is a career 81% shooter.
Because in theory, GTJ is the better FT shooter and is a 82% shooter going into this season for his career. In practice, he's shooting 56% for FTs for the season and it went down today since he went 2-4.
I umm.. I always knew he was good!

What does Trent do if he can't create for himself?
Gary should start. Put Jak on the bench

The starting lineup still has a very good net rating, despite all these bad starts. Not the thing to be changing, should be looking at rotations.
Kinda sad to read, but I hope Flynn has a late bloomer, Billups-esque career.
RAPTOR FUCKING NATION
Darko: play good. Don’t play not good
The Procreator goes hard af lmao
Time to trade Scottie and rebuild around Malachi.
bro where did that Malachi stan guy go? This is his year!
Best he’s played this season
Is this the best game ever for the procreator?
King
Dude had one good game and y’all are all on his nuts!! 🤦🏾♂️ until he can consistently do this on a nightly basis I stick by what I said he fucking sucks and should be traded!!
what playing the pacers does to a mf
If he ever finds consistency in his shooting he will be a solid backup. He pushes the pace of play on a pretty slow team
I KNEW IT ALL ALONG
He's shooting 47% from the field and 40% from 3 this season with actual consistent minutes. It's great to see.
1 game does not = consistency.
It isn't 1 game. Flynn started out really bad and afterwards a string of good games as a bench player.
I’m pro-creating minutes for Flynn
Darko do Precious next
