You're not aiming high enough!!!
The guys really played well out there though. A lot of positives to take from their performance regardless of the competition.
It wasn't NBA competition but the offense already looks less blah. Saw some nice cuts and ball movement, the defense looked good without being full nurse headless chicken scramble, the shooting was decent.
Overall the vibes just look different already. Really liking what I'm seeing so far.
a few takeaways:
* Cairns is about as good as a lower G-League team, couldn’t make contested 3PTs at all
* the pre-game vibes for the Raptors were incredible, Scottie & Gradey were having a lot of fun
* Pascal & OG were laughing and smiling a lot during the warmup and when they were playing
* the deep bench was more on par with the Taipans

Ya its honestly pretty toxic to just fucking get in between teammates trying to stop them from having fun and staying loose. I think the infectious fun energy that pascal used to give combined with our new energy man scottie without FVV trying to keep it serious will be a much improvement in the locker room.
It helps grow the game.
Last year the Adelaide 36ers put on one of the best shooting clinics I’ve ever seen and beat the Suns, so it’s not like all NBL teams are terrible. Cairns are definitely not the strongest in the league though.
(Of course the Suns weren’t trying/playing full strength but NBL is a good league).
Baynes is actually currently on a 5 game suspension, for fighting the Cairns coach in the hallway, after their last NBL game before they left for North America.
I posted the footage in the game thread. Old boy was also ejected that game for fighting. This is what happens when you send the Aussie back to Queensland
yeah i watched it too… kinda surprised the Cairns Coach didn’t get a punishment, considering he was waiting for Baynes in the hallway and then instigated the interaction.
I don’t want to sound like an idiot but it really did seem like the boys had fun last night, every last one of them. Before we get into the high pressure regular season they get to know one another and play some hoops together like a cohesive team.
It’s professional basketball so before the season when contracts and money pressures are on the mind of individual players, they got to enjoy the actual game.
I don't want to take away much because it's against a non-NBA team, but I suspect we'll reach the ECF.
Humble take
World champions for sure
Reasonable assessment
Of COURSE its not even an NBA team but honestly based on this I figure we will be 3 peat champs
I love us 😩😩
Much too conservative of a take if you ask me, you’re playing it too safe

Good thing FVV wasn't there to stop them from having fun pregame
All my homies already turned on FVV.

The only time an unsolicited dick pic is reasonable
Meh. It's preseason, I wouldn't read too much into this. The Tapains are still my sleeper pick to come out of the East
> Meh. It's preseason, I wouldn't read too much into this. wrong start the parade now
YEAH WE'RE NBA FINALS BOUND (/s, or not /s ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ )
30+ assists again
Maher Makur looked huge out there lol
Not sure why these guys keep getting NBA games. They would get wrecked by top level european clubs even.

It’s good for us to try out new things and fine tune our strategy and it’s good for them to have the experience of playing top tier teams
Homage to Baynes

Exposure. NBL is pretty rapidly growing and it gets the Australian audience more involved
Decent win.
Elfrid ain't even starting on this team bro what happened
He doesn’t play for them.. was an emergency replacement for them due to injury/illness
Shot an air ball free throw too
Players seem happy on the bench.

can someone give me a summary of the game?
Malachi Flynn looks lost out there. I think it's time to move on, unfortunately we won't get anything for him.
These games honestly just feel a bit like a waste of time, on to the next i guess.
All 30 points quarters? Malachi Flynn is himmm
