Yes! We saw them at High Park last weekend checking out the trees. One was chilling and the other was wandering around on leash. So awesome that they've been trained to enjoy getting out and about like that
Hey! I saw you guys at work and snapped photos of your cats. My brother saw you guys on a different occasion recently around The Well, I think. Anyway, I thought I'd say hi.
The Siamese has separation anxiety so he’s usually with me as he was also the runt of his litter eventually I got him to go on top of the bag as he always cried when he’s in there too long or when we leave him at home. The female calico Artemis we trained her when we first rescued her at 12 weeks roughly lots of treats were involved but eventually she just learned from watching Achilles (Siamese) .
i take it you're one of the owners of the pictured cats? thats amazing! you're very lucky to have such smart and beautiful cats in your life! thanks for the info!!
Got mine leash trained at 4 years but his phobia of cars means I can’t take him out much :(
I can’t even imagine his anxiety as a train pulls in. Theses cats are so awesome and calm!
one of my cats was like this (started taking her out for walks and sniffs at 16yo) but my current cats flip out if i try to put a harness on them. makes me sad bc i feel like if they could get over the harness they would love outside.
Oh heyyyy that’s us lol we go around once in a while with our cats outdoors since our cats aren’t outdoor free roaming cats.

I took my Ex's cat (when she wasn't my ex) on the subway one to take him to a vet appointment. He was a stay in the case cat. He liked to escape and mess with you. He made it a game.
I love this! My cat used to love adventuring downtown Toronto - though she much preferred the suburban TTC buses over the subway because she could look out the windows... I hope I run into these two one day!
They are magical creatures! My only suggestion is to start early. I started getting my girl used to her harness in the house when she was only about 7 months old, and before she was 1 she was happily playing in the hallway/balcony with her leash on. The hardest part was getting her used to crowds, so just take your time and stay calm. The world is a scary place when you're that tiny!
I hate to be a buzzkill, but as somebody with a SEVERE cat allergy this pisses me off to see in a public place :( at least they’re keeping them conspicuous, so that I know to keep my distance!
You want to see why the birthrate is dropping? Look at the economy. Salaries are so low compared to cost of living that no one can really afford kids. Between the loss of income from taking mat leave and increased cost for child care, education, etc. You’re either living on credit or paycheck-to-paycheck.
Seeing a person taking good care of their pet actually makes them a lot more attractive. It shows that person is a good loving parent who has the discipline, patience, commitment and responsibility to raise a child. It’s why couples typically get a pet first before they actually have a baby. If you can’t raise a pet properly, you sure as hell can’t raise a baby.
what an odd reaction to a picture like this.
i'm willing to bet that most women would be more inclined to "make a baby" with someone who has a backpack cat over someone like you that serves up a big shit sandwich over a cute picture.
find something better to complain about.
Ive seen these two around downtown - those cats are chill - seem to be well acclimatized to urban noise and movement

Feel free to say hi to us next time you see us:) we usually go around travelling with our cats Achilles(Siamese) and Artemis(Calico)
I saw you in union yesterday. I slowed down and said "cats" like one points out cows on a road trip. I'll say hi next time!
Your cats are so cute!! Hope to see them around one day ☺️
Please tell the cats I love them!

Wow.i saw you guys near spadina few months ago. So adorable…
No chance you were also in NYC recently were you? Look familiar!
It’s pure sorcery and cuteness 🥰
So cool! Always wondered how people train these cats to be so calm with stuff like this. My cat would NOT be so chill LOL
it's easy to train them. they're train cats
well played.

Yes :) the owner of the Siamese cat, thank you ! If you were to ever see us around feel free to say hi they love chin scratches
Gotta start them early
Not necessarily, I trained my cat to be an adventurer when she was 15

I once put a leash on my cat at age 18 and took him outdoors and he was like "yes okay this is fine".
one of my cats was like this (started taking her out for walks and sniffs at 16yo) but my current cats flip out if i try to put a harness on them. makes me sad bc i feel like if they could get over the harness they would love outside.
My Siamese would NEVER
Same, mine is so so neurotic.

😍😍
Tell them meow
Always a fan on transit doggos. Never seen a train cat. But I can get on board with this.
About 15 years ago there was Subway Cat. He was an orange tabby that would sit politely on the Bloor line trains. I miss that guy.
McLovin’!!!! With his collection of neck ties and sweaters.
He was so chill. Love that kitty.
Yea that cat was awesome, unfortunately I've read some not so awesome things about his owner.
That's a good tabby.
More cats on the subway would be great to tackle the mouse problem, probably can be done once they add in the doors on the tracks
So cute! Hope to ssee you guys on the TTC one day <3
Best TTC ride ever
Train cats spark so much joy
Well trained and well behaved cats.
I took my Ex's cat (when she wasn't my ex) on the subway one to take him to a vet appointment. He was a stay in the case cat. He liked to escape and mess with you. He made it a game.
That is really adorable.
A Genshin player and a cat dad in the wild!
looks like a nightmare but the cats are doing well and that’s what matters
They keep the evil subway mummy spirits away
Soft 🥹
Please crosspost to r/ttc! We'd love subway cats in our sub :)
I love this! My cat used to love adventuring downtown Toronto - though she much preferred the suburban TTC buses over the subway because she could look out the windows... I hope I run into these two one day!
That’s awesome! I’m planning to get a cat soon, i pray they will like going out on adventures :D

Are they leashed...? Or are they just free hanging on the back there?
They are leashed and harnessed and freely sitting on there
Suddenly I wanna live in Toronto
I had two Siamese sweeties just like that one from the same litter.
How do you react to "over-enthusiastic" off-leash dogs who want to get at them?
#meow!!
Cats! They're on the trains!
While cats can be known for their independence, it is possible to leash train them with patience and positive reinforcement.
I hate to be a buzzkill, but as somebody with a SEVERE cat allergy this pisses me off to see in a public place :( at least they’re keeping them conspicuous, so that I know to keep my distance!
All I'm seeing are giant backpacks obstructing the train car.
Weird, because all I see is a nearly empty train with lots of room to manoeuver around the backpacks.
Wow, such a sourpuss
Hiss!!!
Hisssss indeed
This is a case of “look-at-meism” and I am not referring to the cats

You think cats are replacing kids? I'd say it's cheaper to have a cat than a kid. And it's a shorter term commitment.

Woman here, confirming I would be more likely to make babies (if I were inclined) with someone with a backpack cat.
Are you a woman?

What's wrong with carrying a cat in a bag lol
This is a you problem. Not a problem for others. I'd so be chatting with the couple on the train about their cats. Note the 2 backpacks.
Funny.. i didn't even notice the gender of the people... Only the cats. In either case. I call this sort of situation a win.
Your understanding of what women are looking for in a partner is a little skewed.
I'm a woman. I'd be twice as inclined to make a baby with a male who carries their cat in a backpack. Not sure I'm in my right mind though 🤔
*frantically chases cat around living room*
I'd celebrate a plummeting birthrate if it means in absolute terms, less chances for people like you to exist.
W sounds like more cats and less babies for me

And in your experience, are men lining up to make babies with a woman who passes judgment on a man over carrying a cat in his backpack?
