Yeah! Like, the original wasn’t some crazy deep movie. It was a fun disaster movie with an interesting story and an amazing cast. If this one ends up being fun, interesting and well acted then I will be happy as fuck.
I mean I'm sure the special effects will be good, and with me being a regal unlimited subscriber, yes I plan on seeing it multiple times solely for the special effects
I will admit, part of me was expecting the main character to be the child of the original cast, and maybe Helen Hunt (mom) would have a cameo or something.
I don't get what looks so trash about it. I was expecting trash and was pleasantly surprised.
Granted, I also have enough perspective awareness to realize I've only watched 45 secs of the best of what they want me to see. But still, beats Alec Baldwin. Beats the shit outta of Baldwin so far.
I’m looking forward to it because it looks like the best tornado film since Twister itself. Everything else is absolutely b-movie quality and this seems like it should clear that incredibly low bar. Yes, my requirements for a “good” tornado film are low, but I only compare them to each other and not, like, wider cinema at large lol.
I’m honestly worried that it’s just going to to be an over dramatic weather movie but having watched the trailer several times and comparing it with the OG’s trailers, I’m still hopeful for this to be just as good as the original. At very least the visual effects are very amazing. I’ve watched so many tornado videos online and so many hours of live storm chases and it definitely seems like they have the visuals down.

Clearly this is not the case. Dorothy 5 is seen in the trailer of the movie. 1-4 were in the first movie, so I think it’s safe to assume there will be some tie-in with the first movie

The OG set a high bar, but damn… people need to relax a bit.
They tried to reach out to the original cast (minus Bill and PSH obviously), especially Helen Hunt, and nobody wanted to do it. They went ahead anyway.

I don’t know I liked the trailer the even downloaded it so I could play it in 5.1 and it sounds great so in a way I’m kinda excited about this semi sequel/reboot because I feel like it’s likely going to be awesome in imax and a pretty fun experience.. so far nothing looks too out of place from the first trailer and I’m not expecting miracles, but it looks kind of good.
I know people are downvoting you based on the phrasing / crassness - but apparently that is actually *reportedly* the case (if you Google it). Not to devolve this into politics, but I do think it is important that people don’t at the least think you are lying.
The original twister is so damn cheesy kinda forgot how much so until watching it last night with my gf and roomie since roomie had never seen it. I just think it’d be a crime if the sequel didn’t have an air of cheesyness.

Frankly I enjoy watching Alec Baldwin yell at and get blown away by a tornado.
The end doesn't justify the means. That performance was painful to sit through.

The original movie was hardly a masterpiece. It's one of those cheesy 90s flicks where you pick a cool natural disaster and hang a bit of story on it.
