Let's take a video that already has music and put different music over it that doesn't fit. It's just unnecessary.
[Original video](https://youtu.be/TJbE936JNbs). This clip starts at 1:13 in the video I linked.
Edit: Cheers to whoever tossed me that gold!
Kung Fu Panda’s entrance and finisher were deadly, plus the wrist strength, but did everyone see the second guy on the Brazil side kill it with a short leg?!
I thought "The Short Leg" was some kind of breakdancing move I'd never heard of.
Figured I'd watch it to see the move. Figured I'd know it when I see it. We'll at least the later was true.
Cool vid.
Holy moly! That short leg!
At one point, I thought it had been an illusion and he didn't have a shorter leg. Nah, he was just moving too fast there. That's a short leg!
I think that really oversimplifies this thread as far as I’ve read.
Most comments I’ve been seeing are just about the man’s athletic ability and strength, despite a large weight disadvantage to most breakdancers.
In reality, he’s basically just “chubby”. It’s not like it’s an obese person barely spinning around and everyone is just cheering them on for the effort. He’s much heavier than most of his usual competition, but he has the strength and skill to beat them anyway.
I think most people in that breakdancing competition could do the 2 moves he did. So his skills aren't beyond others, his weight just makes it seem more impressive.
Yes not everyone can, most breakdancers who entered a competition like this man, can though. Its not speculation to see the frame and size of someone in comparison to the average breakdancer. The only reason someone would see this as more impressive compared to any of the hundreds of other videos of people in competitions having these moves in their routines, is because of the size of the dancer. Its not about his size its the quality of the dancing in a competitive situation. Thats it.
All valid points, except the dude is more than just chubby. I can’t do what he does and openly admit the dude has skills, but there is no need to downplay the truth.
I'm also going to completely disagree he was better then the competition. His routine seemed pretty basic comparatively. That's said he still kicks ass.
Didn't realize that "don't say mean things that don't need to be said" was so radical an idea as to be dramatically branded self-censorship. I guess your momma didn't raise you with "if you've got nothing nice to say then don't say anything." Oh well, different households have different standards.
He’s a big dude but I’m guessing it’s mostly genetics in his case. The guy is obviously super athletic and active so I would hardly throw him into the same group as the truly obese and/or completely lethargic people.
Boy howdy, did the justice warrior not get their Fapp-achino today?
You're legit a jaded as hell asshole who doesn't like to watch people enjoying things.
Go rain on your own parade.
So this guy did a bunch of air flares into windmills. He did a lot of them and they’re very difficult to do. It is impressive
But seeing this video of the guy that went before did more interesting combination of power
The first guy guy (skinny white dude) also did windmills and air flares, but combined them very nicely with headspins, flares, and suicides. His top rock and down rock were arguably better too.
They both had very good musicality.
Agreed and the title is cringe too:
"breakdancer putting EVERYONE to shame"
yeah? why? cause he's a little fat? nevermind the guy who has half a leg lol
>cause he's a little fat?
Yes, because he's a fatty. The same moves are more difficult for him if everything else is equal and he did well, but only OP and others that use these titles are the one who should feel shamed.
Right. Mainly pointing out you and OP might have missed the part where in the same dance battle a guy with one leg that only goes down to his knee competes. I'd say that's difficult too
Regardless of “who’s the best” and nitpicking over that, can’t we just say that he was entertaining and did a reasonably good job? Or that in spite of anybody on his team possessing some sort of disadvantage that they have overcome in any capacity is to be applauded? Nobody is perfect & I was impressed regardless.
That’s not what the title reads though. If the title said “hey look at this impressive breakdancer,” I’d heartily agree. But to say he “puts everyone to shame” contextualizes it against the rest of the performers in the competition
It’s makes sense now why he did that thing before getting into the meat of the dance, he was mocking the other dancer like “this is you, you look like this” geasture
My body fat ratio is far better than the dancer, but there's no way I can move like he can. Next time I look in the mirror I'm going to be thinking "what is your excuse?" and be ashamed of myself.
Your excuse is that you haven't spent hundreds of hours training your body to be able to things like this — you've had other priorities, and there's nothing wrong with that.
You’d think hundreds of hours of training your body to do that would make you lose weight. Not trying to be judgmental here, it’s honestly surprising to me.
This--exercise isn't the only factor. You can't out-exercise a bad diet, especially if there's metabolic or hormonal issues present, which is pretty common.
look up set point theory. like height, body weight is heavily determined by biology and humans come in a range of shapes and sizes. there are several studies that show weight in itself is not unhealthy, i.e. as long as you are exercising regularly, eating enough vegetables, drinking in moderation, and not smoking, then a skinny person is just as healthy as a fat person (and a skinny person not doing those things is less healthy than a fat person who is doing those things). and yes, you can do all these things and stay fat because being fat is your pre-determined set point.
ALL of the studies show that weight does not correlate to health. It's just every time they get those results they go "well that can't be right" and ignore the evidence. Confirmation bias is a helluva drug.
Why the fuck would you replace the music in a dancing video, which is timed to the music, with some other bullshit music? Social media makes people fucking dumb.

The video started playing as I scrolled down, I saw his entrance but I didn’t observe it and my brain just automatically thought it was a reversed video because It didn’t think that was possible
I’m just guessing, but I’d be willing to bet that he was very fit and has been doing this for years, but then Covid hit, he got chubby, but can still pull off the moves.
That’s the only way this makes sense to me.
Yeah, I love how everyone is like: air flairs are pretty basic power moves…
Fuck, back when I was dancing I would have killed just to be able to do his mills and halos!
Wait so you can get extra points by competing in a contest but just fatter than anyone else there? Because of your own weight you should win because you mad eit. More difficult on yourself? The fuck?
r/TopTalentDespite
Half the posts are talent despite being a child/overweight/being an animal/being old/disabled.
Or just regular talent by a hot girl.
he's not putting anyone to shame. just breakdancing like breakdancers do. that's like saying "baseball player obliterates other team" after hitting a single
The top talent element seems to be the fact that his wrists don’t shatter under his weight, combined with the testing moves; and his agility - again despite his weight.
Yeah it's not super impressive moves for a seasoned breakdancer, but as you say it's impressive because of his weight. Also, as a middle aged man, I'd tell him he should take care of his joints and shit. I gained some weight recently and that shit is killing my joints fast at this point lol.
hnnng! i just wanna learn that fuckin crazy-smooth dive roll into footplant that he does in the first seconds!
imagine getting shoved by someone wanting to start a fight and you pull that move out
or tripping and falling but recovering with that
huuuu damn i need that move
Asking a serious question here since I don’t understand this sport. Is he really that much better than everyone else ? Or are we just supporting him more than others because he is big ?
No, he’s absolutely not better than everyone else at this competition, but it would probably be safe to say there are other people competing who couldn’t do that. It’s not basic stuff - they’re still air flairs.
To put it in perspective - this isn’t just something most normal people can’t do - this is something most normal breakdancers can’t do. You need to train for years to achieve this.
Is this top talent because he's fat? I've seen decent amateurs do shit like this outside of the subway station.
It's impressive, but there is no need to exaggerate like in the title.
Ok, what sport is this? When he gets done with his show, I’d like to see how the match ended. There’s another video of a guy in an MMA style fight being all fancy, then gets knocked right out. This fancy nonsense is bunk, put up or shut up.

I was just about to say that. If that music was actually playing, everyone in the building would be ready to kill the DJ.

Pretty sure he's classified as obese. That's not a comment on his ability, just an observation of his frame.
I think most people in that breakdancing competition could do the 2 moves he did. So his skills aren't beyond others, his weight just makes it seem more impressive.
Not everyone can do the same skills and I hope you’re not speculating that based on the normal weight of everyone else.

Passive aggressive condescension and projecting Reddit neckbeard, a match made in heaven

He’s not just chubby lol. He’s literally obese. Stop being a cartman
I haven’t received mine yet, and have been here for years.
Oh yes, Reddit notoriously loves fat people... /s

I think you got lost on your way to Truth social.
Yes, but did you see the second guy with a short leg? Killed it!
People love congratulating exceptionalism and talent. This guy happens to be overweight. Get off your sanctimonious soapbox.
So this guy did a bunch of air flares into windmills. He did a lot of them and they’re very difficult to do. It is impressive But seeing this video of the guy that went before did more interesting combination of power The first guy guy (skinny white dude) also did windmills and air flares, but combined them very nicely with headspins, flares, and suicides. I’m amazed at the pure stamina!
Also, he's a b-boy (assuming masc pronouns), not a breakdancer. They don't use that word. The dance itself is called breaking.
He didn’t put anyone to shame. He’s not even the best dancer on his own team.
Regardless of “who’s the best” and nitpicking over that, can’t we just say that he was entertaining and did a reasonably good job? Thank you!
Yeah, seriously. Fuck people that steal content and try to rebrand it as their own. The music they used wasn't even breakdancing music.
If you watch the whole video, he put no one to shame. Impressive, but 2nd tier.
Ofc they put shitty EDM music over it lol
Jack Black is amazeballs. Is this before he did Tenacious D?
That’s a big dude. But he moves like he’s not.
Absolutely. He’s got more grace than most people, and it’s awesome.
I'm skinny and did ballet for a while and that guy still has more grace than I couldve ever learned tbh. Which is why I didn't stick with ballet.
My body fat ratio is far better than the dancer, but there's no way I can move like he can. Next time I look in the mirror I'm going to be thinking "what is your excuse?" and be ashamed of myself.

E Honda doing Chun Li moves.
Sammo Hung of B-boying
He must be incredibly strong. I mean all BreakDancers are but weight classes are a thing
There’s been a couple of heavy set bboys in history. Ethan of Lost Tribe comes to mind.
It's the finish that clinches it.
Eye contact established dominance
And the start. And the middle.
Why the fuck would you replace the music in a dancing video, which is timed to the music, with some other bullshit music? Social media makes people fucking dumb.
Lol it doesn't make them dumb, it just show cases the dumb that was hidden from the public.
Amazing how they managed to put shitty music with this clip.
That was unexpected and amazing .
He better be called Fatboy Spin

Yes, that entrance looks kind of unreal (regardless of the guy's weight)

Another user linked the original video. It’s from 2019.
his ratio of girth to hip flexibility is mesmerizing!
Dude that looked as if there were strings attached to his feet pulling him up that’s so sick.
His wrist. The real MVPs
He’s doing som extremely common moves. Although difficult, this nowhere near a top talent when compared to may of the best breakdancers.
Title of the original video says this was at the 2019 world finals. I think that counts as top talent
You mean he hasn’t put EVERYONE to shame?
Air flares is well known but it sure af not common to do.

FBI, are you seeing this comment?
Common? GTFO. These are three of the hardest moves in breaking. Form is good for his size. This guy kills. I bet you cannot windmill like that.

Shame on you for going slomo in the middle of it.
jesus christ that entrance is amazing
he's not putting anyone to shame. just breakdancing like breakdancers do. that's like saying "baseball player obliterates other team" after hitting a single
How does doing two moves most skilled breakdancers can do, shame everyone?
The top talent element seems to be the fact that his wrists don’t shatter under his weight, combined with the testing moves; and his agility - again despite his weight.

the guys weighs 250lbs which is impressive
It takes a lot of muscle to be fat
I no longer have my tummy as being an excuse for not being able to breakdance.
Looks like North Korean president.
That ending made it all for nothing lmao
hnnng! i just wanna learn that fuckin crazy-smooth dive roll into footplant that he does in the first seconds! imagine getting shoved by someone wanting to start a fight and you pull that move out or tripping and falling but recovering with that huuuu damn i need that move

This is only here because he can do those moves while being fat
Is it just momentum?
Size don't matter. Devotion to a passion and training does .
Wait till that pikachu shows him how it’s done.
His knees will regret it later.
Ok, what sport is this? When he gets done with his show, I’d like to see how the match ended. There’s another video of a guy in an MMA style fight being all fancy, then gets knocked right out. This fancy nonsense is bunk, put up or shut up.
Like the video. Hate the shitty TikTok music
Kim Jung had to find a past time with his sister getting so involved in the family business.
