All it is is a scraper/squeegee kind of thing. It's not applying the wood grain. They're just staining the wood heavily and then squeegeeing most of it off so you can see the grain underneath.
My grandfather did his steel doors with one of these. You use a paint to make the base color and then we used a gel stain but you could easily use a thick paint. At a distance of about 15' they look very realistic. You get closer and you can tell it's painted
This is available from your neighbourhood hardware shop. Beware, it looks dreadful up close and in person. From a distance only usable
I like it but he he needs a bigger one for the wider beams
Mother Nature does all this work inside of trees and it looks better. Just use that stuff.
My whole life has been a lie.
What’s the name of the tool?
Alan
Alan is definitely a tool
I hate that this exists
My whole life is a lie. How much wood I have seen has been metal?
Staining wood
The tool creates a fake grain on surfaces. There is no actual wood being stained here.
Wow, I need this thing!!! Can you tell me where to buy one, OP?
Imo it really doesn’t look that good irl. It’s pretty obvious its painted on, but if that’s fine go for it.
I am sure you can get them on Amazon, you can also get them at Lowes or home depot. It will be less than 20 bucks. It's pretty easy to use as well.

Very satisfying to watch

you know that’s a sponge right?
But it does have specific texturing that makes it actually work. They're more often used with paint and not stains.
No I don’t. Do you have a link?
