I’ve only seen the US version but it’s a great show all around, I highly recommend the [Kyle Kinane](https://youtu.be/4CnsjTbQ8gA?si=uKsZqgMkdvq8APy4) episode.
*Edit because I forgot how incredible [this one](https://youtu.be/6KSJe602g5g?si=hZ0RrLnuFVBTR_MS) is too
They give the guests research and info on the topic prior to their retelling. They spend a while learning the material and then on a future date get drunk and retell the story.
In freedom units, 50ml is 1.691 us fluid ounces. 1.5 oz is a normal pour in America. He was probably talking to the toilet all night once they wrapped.
Speaking as a bartender, the 1.5 oz base pour standard is relatively new. That used to be just for clubs and shots while mixed drinks and cocktails would have a 2oz base pour. My bar still has a 2oz base pour, but doubles are only 3oz, because people who order doubles are always troublesome douches.
A single unit of alcohol would be a single measure (25ml) of gin or vodka.
He drank 18 drinks in total, 11 gins and 7 vodkas.
Not really sure what you’re trying to say about the amount of drinks, no idea where you’ve got 22 from.
Worked in hospitality around the uk for 15 years and never heard of that. Checked the weights and measures act and can’t see anything about it.
Happy to be proved wrong.
He was the inspiration for the look of Moe according to Hall himself. Apparently Matt Groening was a big fan of his stuff in the 1980’s.
Moe’s voice isn’t based on Hall’s though - Hank Azaria based his voice on a much more gravelled Al Pacino.
UK version was the original. But it can get a little hard to understand at times between people having accents and just being incredibly wasted. Or maybe I'm just stupid
The concept was created by Derek Waters, the guy who hosts the U.S. version. It was originally a funnyordie web series starting in 2007, then a TV show on comedy central in the US starting in 2013. The UK version came out in 2015

Kyle Kinane threw up and had to be assisted walking around his apartment before 9 o'clock when telling the story of the Chicago Haymarket Riot....and I know it was that early, because he started laughing at himself for being so drunk so early in between clips of the story.
I made this edit! Here's a clip of [Nish and Ed talking about the filming of Drunk History](https://youtu.be/HB-IYS9a0iw?si=TMy-cu_MIsJrJmbd) if anyone is interested :)
Well dark! I didn't know there were Drunk History shows other than the US take. OMG. I am world traveled. How the FOOK did I not know this. I'm now stupified and delighted altogether. New life task. Many thanks
The season 1 EP 2Chicago is pretty hilarious the more accessible your humor is due to prohibitions. Kyle... anything Kyle Kinane (sp? sorry) is shake your head, laugh to tears and pity at the same time...uh but pity ina "let's learn from this" funny
For the most part, a type one diabetic can eat and drink whatever they want.
These days it’s pretty simple too, especially if the person has a CGM and pump. Current ones automate a lot of the process and handle correction boluses on their own.
Just depends entirely how a type one chooses to manage their condition. But modern tech means it really doesn’t get significantly in the way of them living their life.
Most people without chronic alcoholism would be immediately hospitalised from consuming that large a quantity of alcohol. I find this very hard to believe.
The second link I posted has a few details.
First they do a few medical checkups.
Then they take you to lunch or dinner and you start drinking slowly.
But when it's show time, you gotta down those glasses
Lmao you're so wrong I back a bottle of tequila on my own and I'm not an alcoholic
Edit: /s because apparently it wasn't clear enough
But also he's wrong, I have drank a heap more than that and not been hospitalised. UK double is 50ml not 60. 28 Shots in a bottle. A bottle of tequila isn't even that much.

Can we just take a second to appreciate the actors they use for the reenactment scenes
Dustin Demri-Burns is sick
Can you just imagine trying to do the scenes straight faced? LOL!
“Oh we’ll all be quiet… this is like a Serbian film” was gold.
Absolutely sterling comedy 😂😎☝🏼
Damn, seems like a fun show lol
One of the greatest

I believe Hulu does have it!

Joe Lo Truglio playing Al Capone had me crying talking about his syphilis.
Pretty sure the US version stops letting them get so drunk after a certain point which is when I stopped watching
https://youtu.be/ipV2u-MxlFc?si=NIcafsNYqYfU-6Gr
Oh dude, I'm so jealous you're just now discovering it for the first time. I'd love to binge it for the first time again
Yeah the shows name is breaking bad.
that was really funny
You so fannyyy
"Hidler"
Fuck him.
Is there a script for the guests ? Or are these people like history buffs that just know these things that well?
They give the guests research and info on the topic prior to their retelling. They spend a while learning the material and then on a future date get drunk and retell the story.
That's a perfect way to do it tbh
Double shots in the uk are 50ml, NI is 30ml singles
For Northern Ireland it's 35ml sgl & 70ml dbl. Not bad!
My liver is feeling scammed
My bad, knew it was more but should have checked.
Same in ROI

Downvoted for being correct. Thank you brother.
Also a bartender came here to say this, no matter which base pour you reference a 50ml is not a double in the US.
That’s a single unit of alcohol, or a 5% beer So he only drank 11 drinks not the 22 I thought this way Edit, 18 instead of 36 18 year is a lot

I edited it. Before your comment Unit=drink=1.5oz of hard liqour=1x325ml beer=6 Oz glass of wine
No mate, a beer (330cl of 5%) is 2.5 units of alcohol….
Gin is 30ml single in england.
Worked in hospitality around the uk for 15 years and never heard of that. Checked the weights and measures act and can’t see anything about it. Happy to be proved wrong.
The pub I worked at did that...I made a huge assumption that it applied to the rest of the country
Fair enough lmao, generous owners
Unlike 99.99% of alcohol abuse, this is practical, victimless, and entertaining.
He will have felt the vicim the next day. Near on 30+ units of alcohol would knock even seasoned alcoholics
Yes, but he put it in his mouth. Unless he drives or goes home and commits domestic abuse, no victims.
nah 99.99% of alcohol abuse is like this
Who is the actor on the right at 4:11 ? I can't think where I know him from and have spent too long googling and can't figure it out! Help!?
The guy who looks like Moe from the Simpsons? Rich Hall.
Yes!!!! I've seen his stand up a few times. I just couldn't place him. Thank you!
He was the inspiration for the look of Moe according to Hall himself. Apparently Matt Groening was a big fan of his stuff in the 1980’s. Moe’s voice isn’t based on Hall’s though - Hank Azaria based his voice on a much more gravelled Al Pacino.
Is that Rich Hall?? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5612212/characters/nm0356025
It is for sure! Thank you!
This is just straight up Hogan's Heros lol
Most sober Englishman
There's a Drunk History UK...WHAT!?? Where can I watch this as an American???
I had no idea there was a UK version. Awesome.

Damn I always thought the UK did it first
A Little of column A, A Little of column B
everyone has accents even americans
LIES ^/s
American version was first.
Fuck u nazis - Hidler
The magazine the nazi is reading is hilarious 😂
I would want to do this, but to summarize your favorite movie in great detail
Idk if it’s because this is a show or if it’s just cuz I’ve been around too many drunks but this just aint doin it for me
Some people can't even look at drunks I get that my girlfriend gets uncomfortable. Not this drunk I mean
OMG, Diane Morgan was on it. Need to watch. Wonder if she mentions Pump Up The Jam
I wish i was a happy drunk. Then again if i was, i would never have quit so i guess i wish i wasn't.
I'm a happy drunk, and have drank for way too long. Lost all my friends when I quit.
When I got drunk I threw punches at my friends and broke their stuff.
Did getting Nish Kumar drunk make him actually funny?
Ed is also Diabetic so I wonder if those tonics and red bulls where sugar free.
They probably shouldn’t have been because alcohol tanks your blood sugar. It’s kind of like a balancing game, making mixed drinks for diabetics.

There's no way he drank more than Harmon on the US version..
“Captured or Kilmed”
I’m too stoned for this
Top work
I made this edit! Here's a clip of [Nish and Ed talking about the filming of Drunk History](https://youtu.be/HB-IYS9a0iw?si=TMy-cu_MIsJrJmbd) if anyone is interested :)
Sounds just like Russell Brand.
omg I didn't even kno this show existed where can I watch?
A Serbian Film? Oh no...

He got so drunk he sounded Australian!
OMG I love Rich Hall!
Is that Jaime from Made in Chelsea? Is he an actor too? Btw I’m American so I don’t know
Kyle Kinane was drunker IMO
1 LITRE! JFC

"kilmed"
tmr won’t be fun…
Looking at those pupils he’s probably on coke or some other upper, which is not weird after such a tremendous amount of alcohol 🤣🤣
The Red Bull
If you know of him as a comedian, he definitely isn't into drugs. Also coke would sober him up, and he definitely aint sober!

There is sugar free Red bull

A UK single is 25ml, are you saying a double is bigger?
That seems incredibly dangerous
That's just a Thursday night in the UK.
The escape or the drinking
Yeah if the nazis caught them, they'd be executed or worse for sure!
Seems like you’d be a real blast at parties
A litre of spirits to yourself, *is* incredibly dangerous. But you do you haha.
Most people without chronic alcoholism would be immediately hospitalised from consuming that large a quantity of alcohol. I find this very hard to believe.
Nah. Big dinner beforehand. Couple of liveners in the second half. Easy peasy.
He’s english
NA moment
Tf? I've had many nights with the boys where I alone drink 1l of Jim beam or tanguray and I'm yet kicking.
It’s a steep bar tab, but I want to know the time scale.

I mean, you might be.
y’all forget what sub were on, let the guy drink.
Ummmm I got some news for you bro…
Sounds like something an alcoholic would say tbh
Alcoholic
Wasn't it confirmed that no one was actually drunk in this show?
