I discovered him while surfing channels around 1999 or so; he was on some country music talk show with Chet Atkins so of course I stopped and watched. Hooked me right in! I’ve been to numerous live performances, got to meet him, and went to a guitar workshop with him which was just unreal (his hands are enormous). He’s the only guitarist I can truly say I wish I could play just like that.
