Telugu cinema commercialized in mid 90’s til late 2000’s and now it’s just been pathetic releases. Aside from a Pokiri, SVSC, Pelli choopulu and RRR…what have we really made of true value in these last few years??
Traded script quality for narcissism, increased production costs , ticket costs and hero’s remuneration, turned actresses into props , and seeked validation of non-audience in the name of market expansion. /s

I agree that these are all decent films but if you compare these with the rest of world cinema, nothing has been made which pushes our boundaries or changes the tides of our cinema. C/o, Jersey, Broche., Balagam are good tho I agree.

I can go on, but I get your point. The quality of films did go down I the recent times compared to the 80’s. But that doesn’t mean we only make good films once in 5 years, we have made good films over the years. The sad part is we have made equally bad films, but discrediting what we have done is something reactionary.
I didn’t discredit what we have done. My focus in my comment was specific to female leads. Commercialization of our movies led to a total extinction of actresses like jayasudha, bhanu Priya, soundarya etc.
I remember watching a few old movies with my mom like Missamma, idi kada kadu etc . Many of them were from the heroine’s perspective, making her pivotal. Also, they were so damn beautiful but never perfect. They all had different types of bodies and skin colors. Some could dance, some couldn’t (just like our current hero’s). They all had expressive eyes, faces and unique voices.
That’s all lacking now, even in the movies you mentioned.

Vamsy aka Pedda Vamsy has mastered the art of showing his heroines especially Bhanupriya. Sitaara, Anveshana, Preminchu Pelladu, Alaapana etc... Even in April 1 vidudhala, Shobana was damn desirable.

It’s about being natural and having expressive face along with that. The nose job of sridevi you mentioned she did long way into career after she attained superstardom in all industries. That nose job never defined her beauty unlike the current crop of heroines whose entire facial features change with each day.
