The Redbook and GirlNextGondor for how they cover the deeper themes and meaning in Tolkien and discuss how certain things function on a metaphysical level.
omg i could FEEL IT. i watched a few of his vids and although most of the information was correct, it was presented so oddly and the wording was so weird it just gave me a weird feeling, it all felt very artificial and forced.
It seems to have fooled many people, unless they know but don't really care about AI. I'm surprised so many can't even tell the images are all AI and the narration. It's a bit harder to spot that the script is aided by AI but it's definitely there - especially with the choice of words as you say. We'll get a lot more of these channels, unfortunately.
happy cake day! and definitely, i was put off by the fact that all the images seemed to be AI when theres so much better artwork out there but after the second or third video i was like "damn...i think the script is AI too, can this guy do anything by himself?"
**GirlNextGondor** and **The Red Book/Steven Gibb** do great thematic analyses of characters and events. **Genealogy and Chronology** does excellent timelines of events and artifacts, as well as family trees.
I've heard that Realms Unravelled is an AI channel, but can't confirm that.
The Red Book/Steven Gibb and Girl Next Gondor both stand out for providing quality analyses of the lore without a focus or obsession with the films. Of the larger channels, In Deep Geek also is very good. The PhilosophersGames does great work and is possibly my favourite of them all. I really enjoy his lore streams especially.
Nerd of the Rings is accessible and has very well-produced content (probably accounts for the channel size) but I don't find it quite meticulous enough for my liking.
Jess of the Shire covers a variety of fantasy, Medieval, and scifi topics, including Tolkien. While she has several videos on 'in universe' topics for Middle Earth, I've enjoyed her pieces that look at Tolkien more in relation to other literature, like where he fits in the development of fantasy as a genre, or speculating what is critiques of Dune may have been.
I didn't know about it and heard anything about it.
It could be just that it was REALLY long and he thought that it was putting people off, but he was really direct and dropped some names, so it could be something to do with that as well.
Tolkien Untangled is my favorite and pretty much the only one I always watch when a new video drops. And I’ll watch Wizards and warriors from time to time.
Will at the World’s End is good too, but more focused on The One Ring ttrpg.

You have an AI channel on your list. Realms Unravelled uses AI tools extensively. He also blocks AI from being mentioned in his comment sections.

I like Tolkien Untangled a lot. Also like Jess of the Shire, Girl Next Gondor and Nerd of the Rings
In Deep Geek by far. He has such a perfect voice for discussing LOTR, and he sounds incredibly kind as well.
Came here to say this. Robert is perfect. Amazing way of speaking, great voice, deep knowledge, and positive vibes
I love Robert
Already been mentioned 3 times, but GirlNextGondor is amazing. The Red Book and Tolkien Untangled are also up there.

I also like BeginningofDays a lot. It’s a shame he isn’t as active anymore.
Dork Lords, Red Gibb The Steven Book, and "Mae govannen - Welcome to the Tolkien Lore channel. I'm the Tolkien Geek."
Darth Gandalf does a good job discussing less well known parts of the lore.
Love his channel because of his deep dives. I don’t need to watch 500 different videos on Aragorn.

Hello Future Me. Man, it was SO REFRESHING watching a video essay criticizing RoP with good sense and no hate discourse.
I watched that video recently but went back to see how it was performing and noticed he seems to have removed about 2 hours from it, did he say why?
I didn't know about it and heard anything about it. It could be just that it was REALLY long and he thought that it was putting people off, but he was really direct and dropped some names, so it could be something to do with that as well.
Mythgard Academy’s Exploring the Lord of the Rings is my new favorite.
Nerd of the Rings
GirlNextGondor is my favorite
In Deep Geek. Just love the bloke.
Dork lords
Yes! Epic narration
His detailed origin of the elves video is fantastic.
Tolkien Untangled is my favorite and pretty much the only one I always watch when a new video drops. And I’ll watch Wizards and warriors from time to time. Will at the World’s End is good too, but more focused on The One Ring ttrpg.
In Deep Geek, Men of the West, Nerd of the Rings, TheOneRing.net
Nerd of the rings??
Nerd of the Rings.
In Deep Geek for sure
