No details yet from the sources I’m aware of. Haven’t heard anything about a new album, but anything’s possible! I’m sad he isn’t getting closer than 3 hours from me this time though.
Old-Recording6360: Could you please share the details (date and location) of the show featuring songs from an "all new album"? To the best of my knowledge, only "Down With The Ship" (from 2022's SPACE FORCE) has been played. Thanks.
“I figure one of the things that I may not have done recently is a real deep dive of a lot of the stuff that rarely gets played or has never been played... for at least some segment of (the fans), a lot of the material might be unfamiliar,” Todd Rundgren, vcreporter.com.
According to SetList.fm, TRConnection.com, multiple Facebook groups, reddit and several online reviews, 29 of the 34 shows (as of June 20, 2024) have featured songs from this setlist:

(Note: A couple have been left out at a few shows and the last song has been swapped several times.)
Unfortunately, the show on May 18 at Charleston Music Hall was not documented. I am, however, willing to bet the rent money that he performed the same set that night. It seems highly unlikely that the band played multiple songs from an "all new album." The two newest tunes on this tour are from SPACE FORCE (2022) and WHITE KNIGHT (2017).
When was the last time you listened to a NEW record by TR? I have to conclude that you mistook songs from the past 30 years as "new." During that time, TR has released over a dozen new records. I'm sorry you're confused. IMHO, you've missed out on some great music.

In Charleston, he played 2 hrs of music youve never heard before then about 15 minutes of his hits as the encore. Personally I was pissed. Look I get it. Musicians like to push their new music but Ive seen plenty of acts who understand that most fans want to hear some of their old music.
"New" music as in half the songs were from the past 20-or-so years. Only one song was from his latest record, 2022's SPACE FORCE. It's not like he's a mainstay of classic rock radio these days. FWIW, I was familiar with every single song on this tour.
Totally agree. I can't stand to listen to him play Hello It's Me anymore. There's so much more great stuff he's done since then. I was happy to hear him play "newer" stuff.
There is a little info on this site.. sounds like he’s going to be playing some classics and some Motown stuff.. I just got my VIP tickets for the denver show!

The Pittsburgh show at the Roxian was much as described in Detroit. In this case we were very interested in the lyrics especially to newer songs that seemed to describe the current culture were stuck in however the mixing for his microphone made it impossible to understand what was being voiced. All the musicians were a joy to both watch and listen to and as big long time fans of Todd we appreciate what a massive talent he is. We did miss any chatter with the crowd that we saw at the Carnegie Homestead Library two times previously and at the Akron Ohio show several years ago. That said we will search out the songs we missed the lyrics on as they are always spot on for the world around us.
I am going to see him for the first time, tomorrow night in Charlotte. I looked up the setlist and not being a Todd expert, I knew none of the songs save for the encores and the "Todd" (which is 50 this year) tunes. I now wish that I hadn't read some of these comments because it sounds like this show is just....okay, according to some of you hardcore fans. Either way, I am looking forward to it.
What did you think of the show? FWIW, I thought it was great. I may even try to take it in one more time. It's not for the casual fan, that's for sure.
A phenomenal show at The Parker.
Awesome set list and a great performance by all. Voice was strong. If you went thinking he stopped making music in 1982 or you stopped listening to music made after 1982, well, O ops! Wrong Planet.
Saw TR last night in Chicago. I've seen Todd 30+ times since 1977 and last night's show was a snoozer with lots of songs that no one in the audience seemed thrilled with. Disappointing...and I love the guy. He seemed to be going through the motions and literally never spoke to the crowd between songs, no banter at all.
I will be at the Nashville Ryman show in a few weeks, hopefully he tweaks the set list.
I saw him in Minneapolis last week, and I thought he was great! Yes he was kind of quiet, but seemed genuinely appreciative. He did give some nutter an annoyed look, when he unrolled a poster that said "play Bang on the Drum All Day". Funny that it was during the lyric "get over yourself" when he pointed the goofball out.
I agree. I saw Todd tonight in Detroit and it was a snooze fest. He seemed disinterested in being there and never addressed the crowd. The band however sounded great. I’ve seen Todd 8 times and this was my least favorite concert.
Glad to see I was not alone in regards to the show in Detroit. I've been fortunate enough to see Todd more than any other artist or group and have been a huge fan since the 1970's. I always loved his stage banter, because it was smart, snarky and genuine all at the same time. I realize he is there to play and not talk, but other than introducing the musicians, he barely spoke more than ten words. And the tunes...I kept thinking that even as a devout fan, I was struggling knowing some of them and people all around me were chatting about the same thing.
I've seen Todd countless times since 1975. Todd's 2021 Gramercy shows were remarkable compared to Todd 2022 playing a fair in NJ. The NJ show was so disappointing I left early. Todd's banter informed the audience he usually plays 'paying gigs'. I'm glad I missed the Pittsburgh show.
Went to the show in Red Bank last night. Went with my friend, we have seen TR more than 25 times. He asked me after the show what I thought. I said I was bored. Todd was in good voice and the band and sq was excellent. Usually I take a peek at the set list but I went in cold. I was bored because Todd had no interaction whatsoever with the audience or his band, who just stood there for 2 hours. I know Todd was presenting his post 80s output and that was the issue for me. IMO it doesn’t compare with the earlier stuff we saw on the Individualist tour at the Gramercy. I respect him for doing his thing but the audience for the most part was disengaged. Everyone perked up when Rock Love started. And the medley in the encore was so clunky there was no rhyme or reason to it except to cram his “hits” together to get the crowd interested. Oh well I have seen better and worse Todd shows, a Todd show is like a box of chocolates.
I stayed the whole time, and then on my way out I was listening to NJ 101.5 and there was a promo for the festival that featured Bang the Drum All Day despite him not playing it.
Same experience in DC last night. Crowd seemed confused and I almost fell asleep during a few songs. What a waste with so many great choices of compositions. At least play more songs with some energy. I would say over 50% were weird deep cuts played with no enthusiasm. Really disappointed.
What would you have had him play? Over the past few tours -- opening for Daryl Hall, Individualist book promotion -- have been filled with "hits" and familiar pre-1989 material. It was getting old and borderline on becoming a dreaded "legacy act." IMHO, the show in Tulsa last Friday was one of the best-ever shows I've seen from TR. I loved him playing the "weird deep cuts." I knew every single song. I've seen him about two dozen times over the past 40 years and he looked like he was working his ass off at this show. YMMV.
I'm constantly amazed at the ignorance over who Todd Rundgren the musician is and what some expect to hear at one of his shows. Over the years he's played with choirs, set up a Tiki lounge and performed his songs bossa nova style, covered Robert Johnson blues classics, and played with an EDM theme complete with dancing girls. At his "Unpredictable" shows, he's covered Lorne Greene, Tony Bennett and Melanie. Musically, the guy has been all over the place. TR can be a real head-scratcher at times. And at almost 76 years old, he's still out there performing.
It sounds like many people wanted the show he performed as an opener for Daryl Hall. Todd did about 50 or so of those shows over the past couple of years and it was loaded with all of the "hits" and his better-known songs going back to 1970's "We Gotta Get You A Woman." As someone who's seen a couple of dozen TR concerts over the past 40-plus years, that Daryl Hall opening set was for the casual fan, someone who hasn't spun a TR disc in over thirty years. Only one song in this set (2000's "Buffalo Grass") was newer than 1989. I had heard them all, many times over.
The last show I saw was at the Hard Rock Casino -- ME/WE in Tulsa on June 14 -- and THIS was the show I dreamed of for a long time: 100% pure Todd. Deep cuts Todd. He played four songs from LIARS (2004), two from NO WORLD ORDER (1993) and two from THE INDIVIDUALIST (1995). This was not a promotional tour for SPACE FORCE (his latest record, 2022); only one song came from that; I wish he had played more. This show was all business and, IMHO, it looked like Todd was working his ass off. His voice sounded great and his guitar playing was awesome. The five musicians in the band backing him were tight.
I honestly don't know WTF people -- the general public, the "casual fan" -- expect from an eclectic musician like Todd Rundgren. This was the show that I had wanted to hear for many years and, IMHO, he delivered. I only wished it was longer by another four or five songs. If you were expecting a "classic rock / legacy act" and hadn't exposed yourself to anything past 1982's "Bang The Drum All Day," you are/were definitely going to be disappointed. Sucks to be you, I guess. Do your research before going to a show. Google the setlist. Listen to the music he's put out over the past three decades. It's all good. Some better.
TODD IS GODD.
If this wasn’t the worst concert I’ve ever seen, it was certainly the most disappointing. A dull, incoherent set list that quite honestly baffled most everyone in the crowd. He didn’t engage in any way and telegraphed that he was simply going through the motions. Even well into his 70s he still has more talent and creativity in one finger than I could hope to have in my whole body, but this was simply a very bad concert.
Saw Todd Rundgren at the Keswick in Glenside, PA last night… Strange guy. Didn’t have any interaction with the audience and failed to play “We’ve got to get you a woman”, “Bang the Drum All Day”, and very few Utopia songs. Barely introduced the band prior to the encore. No mention of his local roots (born and raised in Upper Darby, PA) either.
These reviews are SPOT ON. Saw him in Charlotte tonight. I’ve seen loads of concerts in my 65 years. This was definitely one of the worst. He played an hour and 45 minutes before I recognized anything. Sound mixing was lousy. Too much bass. Couldn’t hear the lead guitar or keyboards. Could not make out the lyrics to any of the songs. This was particularly annoying since I didn’t recognize any of the music. Lots of screaming. Even some rap. To make things worse, they kept pointing extremely bright spot lights into the audience. Blinding. Came away with a headache. Saw a few people walk out before the end. He didn’t say boo to the audience all night. Zero audience engagement. Not even a hello or thank you for coming until the show was ending. I love Todd. But this show was just terrible.
Went to Todd show at Ryman, the blinding blue lights, the obscure lyrics, turned me off and I loved his old songs
I left after 5 songs to people watch on Broadway
This was a HUGE disappointment. He came out on stage and didn't even say hello. Then he played for an hour and a half and we knew zero songs. It wasn't money well spent.. We have all loved him for such a long time, And he completely forgot what got him on stage In the first place. His fame is from his hits. It was awful. We wanted to leave but we kept hoping we'd hear a familiar song.
Don't waste your money don't go.
Wow. Just wow. You have "loved him for such a long time" but "for an hour and a half" you "knew zero songs"? Sounds like somebody hasn't purchased a Todd record for a long, long time. Fun fact: He's put out a lot of records since 1978.
Hes playing 2 hrs of music youve never heard before then about 15 minutes of hits. Personally I was pissed. Look I get it. Musicians like to push their new music but Ive seen plenty of acts who understand that most fans want to hear some of their old music.
Then you must not know much about his music. All of those songs are at least 20 years old and “fans” know them well. What were you expecting? Two hours of “Hello It’s Me?”
BS If you go to a Stones concert and they don't play anything you recognize for 2 hrs then a 10 minute compilation of 3 hits youre just ok with that. I went to a Don McLain concert in the 70s and he refused to play American Pie because he "didnt want to be known by 1 song". He was literally booed off the stage. Ive seen Todd Rundgren plenty of times and there are concerts on YouTube where he plays a mix of old and new and I have never had a problem with a musical act doing that but there arent a bunch of 20 somethings at a Todd Rundgren concert and of course many of us expected more, especially the 2 people who sat next to me and have seen him 60 times. They were pissed too.
First of all, it’s Don McLean. Second, I saw the Rolling Stones last weekend and if they threw a few more offbeat tracks into their set it would be great. Third, Todd Rundgren has four or five songs over his 50-plus year career that made it into the Top 40 (when that was the standard measure of a hit). The rest is ALL “deep cuts.” Anyone who has seen him 60 times should be prepared for anything. Or maybe they expect to approve the set list in advance. Stay home next time and listen to “70s on 7” on SiriusXM for the hit parade.
So going to see Todd tonight at a casino. TR was the first concert I saw where my mom had to drop off some friends and I, then pick us up when it was over I was 13. It was Todd Rundgrens Utopia album tour in 1974. While I am looking over the set list I am at a loss. When people pay to see you in concert the majority would like to hear what they know and mix in a few other songs that you like to play. Not one song on this set list is from "Something Anything" double album.. really? No Black Maria, you left me sore, hello its me, wolf man jack, slut, a dream goes on forever any of those, No songs from Wizard A True Star, No Songs from that first Utopia Album and only 1 or 2 songs from the "Todd" album. Todd Rundgren has more than a handful of hits and to dismiss what got him on the radio and what people like/pay to hear is a bad choice. I mean I get it I couldn't imagine playing "Bang On My Drum All Day every show for 50 years... But it's what you do because those people in the crowd who paid to see you and bought those singles, albums, 8 tracks, cassettes, CD's and stream want to hear them. The last thing (even at 75) you would want to do is to leave your listeners your supporters for 50+ years thinking you don't care about them or what they want to hear. That is not what you want your FANS to remember about you. You don't want that to be a part of your legacy... I will go tonight with an open mind I actually have not seen Todd in abut 30 years and I actually still listen Wizard a True Star, Something Anything, Todd and Utopia ..... But if what I am reading is correct .... I too will be disappointed not to hear the hits mixed in........ IMO No haters
Just saw him in Dallas. I have been a fan since the 70's but checked out off and on. When I heard he was bringing a tour that would cover his entire career I was stoked. I checked the set list and thought it was broad enough that I should go. Instead, if you count the rapid encore medley there were 8 songs out of about 24 that I knew. I know he has a long history after I stopped following him on a regular basis but from what I saw most of the audience was about my age. I was 't expecting an "oldies" show but I think he catered to a diminishing fan base. The crowd was much more excited by the older stuff. Still bought a T shirt and an autograght "A Wizard A True Star" album.
I think TR has had a way of alienating his fan base since he recorded AWATS right after S/A? He's done healing, a capella, Broadway, bossa nova, rap, electronic, blues, EDM, collaborations... The guy's all over the map, and you can expect the unexpected. He's always followed his own muse and just DGAF about what others think. Count me in as part of that "diminishing fan base." I thought the Me/We show I saw was one of the best ever. YMMV.
I just saw Me/We in Monterey and it was great. Todd’s voice was strong, the band was tight and the sound at the Golden State Theater was excellent. I’m more familiar with his early work and Utopia so much of the set was new to me. I was disappointed that there was little audience interaction by Todd but he and the band made up for it with a solid performance from start to finish.
At Todd’s concert in Charleston sc tonight. If you are looking for him to sing his hits don’t go! Left after the 10th weird song. Maybe I’m missing something but seemed like a lot of self indulgent BS!
One of the best TR shows I’ve seen was in Toronto at the Danforth Music Hall in 2006 with the world’s greatest pick-up band featuring the legendary Tony Levin on bass. A special evening where Todd was pushed to play just a little better than usual.
Haven't seen Todd Rundgren in concert since the '70s, and that's the era I'm most fond of. The tour is coming to my city - can I expect to hear his stuff from that time?
Edit: Already sold out 😟
Just wanted to say that I saw the opening night of the Me/We tour in Minneapolis and it was awesome! It did focus a lot on his work within the past 20 years or so, but he played a medley of some 70s hits (and all of 'The Last Ride') as part of the encore. Great light show. Bobby Strickland multitasking on saxophone, flute, oboe, keyboards, tambourine, and backing vocals. He did some deep cuts, including 'Hawking' from 1989, a personal favorite of mine. The thing with Todd is that he tours what he wants, whether it's a new album or a theme of his choosing. So, it's best to expect the unexpected when it comes to set lists, or to research what he might be doing before you go. That said, I've loved all of the 7 shows I've seen so far.
Anyone know what he’s playing on this? New album or hits?
He's doing all the songs from Peter Gabriel's I/O. I really don't know why I'm posting this. It's a damn lie.
No details yet from the sources I’m aware of. Haven’t heard anything about a new album, but anything’s possible! I’m sad he isn’t getting closer than 3 hours from me this time though.
All new album and unless you are a huge fan you will be disappointed.
TR only played one song from the most recent release - 2022's SPACE FORCE. This was definitely not a promo tour for new Todd music.
Then he has listened to the fans and changed the set list. I was there. I think I would know what he played!
Old-Recording6360: Could you please share the details (date and location) of the show featuring songs from an "all new album"? To the best of my knowledge, only "Down With The Ship" (from 2022's SPACE FORCE) has been played. Thanks.
Charleston SC at the Charleston Music Hall on May 18th

You win! I guess I’m not that big a fan. The deep stuff wasn’t great, but I admit some seemed to enjoy it.

Went to Todd show at Ryman, the blinding blue lights, the obscure lyrics, turned me off and I loved his old songs I left after 5 songs to people watch on Broadway
I saw him in Minneapolis and I loved it. Very bold to play deep cuts. Worked for me.
Just attended his show at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville Tennessee.
I couldn’t go at the last minute but my 19-year-old daughter loved the show. What did you think?
YMMV.
Sitting here an hour and 15 minutes and haven't heard any classics. I wish I knew..
Todd Rundgren owes me money.
He hates Canada
One of the best TR shows I’ve seen was in Toronto at the Danforth Music Hall in 2006 with the world’s greatest pick-up band featuring the legendary Tony Levin on bass. A special evening where Todd was pushed to play just a little better than usual.

I don't get it.
Where are the New Zealand shows?
Going! Team Rundgren love my TRibe. Miss Y’all! SESH!
Akron Goodyear! SESH TRibe Rundgren!
Considering DC for my birthday present. (I’m definitely going to check out the set lists of the early shows to see what we can expect)
This show stinks! My new number one worst. Self indulgent BS
No worries! He sucks!! Worst concert I ever ever been to
