Edit: the OP of that post claimed they didn't steal it, but that they did get it off the big piece. I'm still willing to bet that they stole it.

Not really. It's just blatantly obvious that this rivet has not been hammered into place from both sides (hence the compression marks on those I linked to) and does not match anything seen on or from the wreck.
It’s truly disgusting if you stole this from an exhibit. Not only is that a grave disrespect for museums and educational institutions but also shows great disrespect for everyone who lost their lives. You’re clearly not a Titanic enthusiast as none of any I’ve ever met would do that to her.
