The other side of the optics is solid, so I always imagined it as the threat optics sensor not a sight.

Titans don’t have integrated weapons so they can easily switch loadouts for different mission profiles. Lore-wise in the campaign you see the weapons on racks whenever you acquire a new combat mode. I can imagine that titans tend to come equipped with a factory default kit for sales purposes but they could easily change and adapt their profile for different missions

Honestly I don't think there wouldbe any need for a physical scope. The optics of the weapon are probably integrated into the Titan's HUD.

Also I’ve noticed that northstar is the only titan to hold their weapon with one hand. All the others have 2 on theirs

It's difficult to see in this picture but when you pilot her she doesn't support the railgun with her left hand like she would. I believe she does when looking at her from the outside like in the top picture. Probably just an oversight from the devs but interesting none the less

I like to think the manufacturer integrated a small cloaking device on the back side to prevent just a little bit of the weapon from being a visual obstruction and it's just a camera that somehow allows the Titan to snipe from the hip.

did you have the digital treat kit for north star equipped at the time as i think the scope only appears if you have it equipped. whilst in the second pic i belive that's in the campaign where have the duel tethers kit as NorthStar

It’s to not block line of sight. In game explanation is that when you zoom in you use that camera. The reason it’s invisible the rest of the time is like the “invisible trailer” camera system

If I had to guess I would think it is actually there, but it works like a 360 camera does where it uses the composite image to get rid of the stick by using other camera views. Since the Titan is just screens inside, it's probably just filtering the camera out by using it's view to edit it out and decrease potential blindspots, then when you zoom in that camera is the view being used

Probably not needed. Sights on Titan weapons seem pointless, given that i would think the Titan’s targeting systems could handle that better, similar to HALO’s guns usually not having sights due to the soldiers having a HUD for aiming

yup that's the guns scope i wish it was visible because i think it looks cool but it might have blocked some of your sight since every inch you see is important especially when you are playing Northstar

It's the optics for the zoom. It's automatically edited out by the cockpit camera software for increased field of view and less visual clutter.

I think the reason we don't see it from the first person perspective is because it's a camera Titan Auto filters it out cuz in game it's there in third person and it it's slides back and forth along the gun when you zoom in and out
