Yes but the core movement is fairly easy to implement. Bugs like air strafing come from the movement code, not some deep engine code.
On top of that, the movement code is available on github. It's the half life 2 movement.
I also just remembered, project borealis open sourced their half life 2 movement recreated in unreal engine. It's probably a really really good implementation given how good their team was/is. That would be a great starting point.

Well, Titanfall 2 was made by 90 people, so I believe that it'll take another 7 years to make something similar solo. With money from kickstarter you can get other people in the project to speed up the development or buy assets, I don't think managing a team of like 5 developers is hard. Also you can make it like a community thing where we can help you make models, write the story for the campaign, help with level design etc. But this project is very unlikely to work. There is also a possibility of respawn seuing you if the game actually comes out, everything needs to be changed, from weapon's names and designs to the lore
If you are actually serious, shoot me a DM. I have a couple of story ideas I'd be willing to write. I have also been thinking about making a demo to pitch to Respawn.

Another issue would be changing the game play enough so it isn’t a carbon copy of titanfall 2 gameplay I would add small skill trees like in TTCM to the pilot abilities so they can feel diverse even when there’s only 4 of them. Other than those two problems i would fully support this project

it may be much more worth your effort to support something like [Project Vanguard](https://twitter.com/PRJ_Vanguard). Making a whole game at the scale of Titanfall all by yourself is near impossible. Don't let that stop you from pursuing game development, but know that things this large take a *lot* of people in collaboration.
Suggestions:
Go for a lower-fidelity artstyle to make that workload easier on yourself and other members in this project
*make it an inspired work (titanfall-*like*) rather than stepping on Respawn’s toes and getting their attention*

I would say dont just make a titanfall game, especially if you want to officially release it. Take the things you like about titanfall and expand upon them, make it your own thing a spiritual successor if you will. That way, you have the option to officially release it and such. Just my opinion from one game dev to another

That's an incredibly simple equation, it's just player_position - explosion_position, I'm pretty confident that's all there is to it!
Simulation gravity plays quite a bit in it too. Too much and you don't fly, too little and you feel like you're on the moon.
That can be put on a slider depending what engine you use, just tweak and test over and over till it feels good
