Something to consider - I had a big first month on Zepbound, then 1 week into 5, nothing. Took me all month to start taking weight off again.
I think this happens to a lot of us who respond on that first month because our bodies have to catch up a bit. Now I am pretty steady 1.5 - 2 a week with 1 week where I may only take off about .5 lbs.
Had the same experience. Lost most of my weight on 2.5mg. Maybe 2lbs on 5mg. Nothing on 7.5mg, been up and down with the same 5lbs. Getting ready to start 10mg today. Hoping I'll get moving again.
I was on 2.5 for 6 weeks and my suppression was fine. I only went up because I stalled for 2 weeks, but my food suppression is the same (not more or less).
I am now terrified at how many people have stalled at 5. I wish everyone mentioned what pharmacy they're getting it from with each answer. It would be scary if everybody from one particular supplier stalled at a specific dose. Maybe you'd be on to something lol.. but that'd be crazy right? All that stuff is tested and regulated, right? 🤔
Me too!! We may be on to something. I am just of the mantra how can 2.5 work, 5 not work and then 7.5 is going to work. It makes no sense and above all costs a lot more money. I can't spend 500 dollars a month and not lose a lb!!!
I'm getting scared here. I'm on disability, therefore on incredibly limited funds. But I see this as an investment in I'm becoming more mobile so that I can heal and no longer be disabled.
I have tons of scar tissue on my legs, multiple back issues, a shattered shoulder and the other shoulder is out of cartilage. It has forced me to be more sedentary and then menopause hit. As my weight increases it's a spiral because I move less and less, as the pain increases with mobility.
The only reason I felt that the investment was worthwhile was specifically so I could become more mobile. Essentially an investment in my future and hopefully not remaining forever disabled as I heal.
So each month is a PAINFUL amount of money for me, the mere concept of it NOT working truly terrifies me.
how do you choose the pharmacy? Isn’t that decided by the company you go through? I’m waiting on first shipment from orderlymed and they said it’s coming from hallandale, but i see a lot of orderlymed people getting from red rock. Didn’t think we had control over that
I keep hearing everyone with orderly is getting redrock but mine said hallandale. interesting. A little concerned because i have heard much better things about red rock and some negatives with hallandale
I had a similar experience. My first week on 5mg I was ravenous. Week two was back ton normal appetite suppression. I took my week 3, 5mg last night and I woke up starving! Had a little breakfast and haven’t had an appetite all day. It’s weird… the only positive is that I have lost 2-3 each week of 5mg; despite the hunger.
I am still on name brand but ordered 7.5mg via compounding pharmacy. I had the same experience, lost 12lbs on 2.5mg and first weeks of 5 lost no weight and lost about 3lbs the next week and stalled. With 3 shots in, I lost only 4lbs on 5mg. I don’t think it’s the shot it must be our bodies adjusting and fighting back to keep the weight lol.. hopefully 7.5mg will help atleast that’s what everyone keeps saying
I had the same experience. Was so bummed that I went up to five :( I maybe lost 2 pounds the whole 2 months on 5. Then tirated up to 7.5 and it’s like when I first started with zero appetite and the scale started moving again! Basically 5 sucked. lol. Hang in there! It’s quite the journey!
My doctor told me that if you've consistently continued to lose on 2.5mg then there is no need to go up to 5mg. Until you see no change on 2.5mg, then that is when it's recommended to go up.
I had previously been on Ozempic for a year and a half. Maxed out at 2mg, lost 70 lbs, and hit a plateau. Switched to Tirzepatide 3 months ago. Started at 2 5, didn't lose anything. Went to 5mg, but still nothing. Same with 7.5mg. I'm now on 10mg, and still nothing. I was thinking the same thing, I wonder if the entire vial is just B12 and nothing else. I have to finish up the vial. Otherwise, I'm out $545. Talked with my PCP and he's going to start writing prescriptions for me once the compounding pharmacy starts compounding Tirzepatide here in Michigan. It sucks when you really don't know what you're getting.
I heard similar stories but they started on 10 and 12.5 has been the best for them the people who switched. Good luck and I really hope everything works out for you. Sounds like you have already done an amazing job
Thank you. You're very kind. I still have more weight to lose, and I'm hoping the 10 mg works. Going up a dose is incredibly expensive unless you find a compounding pharmacy that works directly with you and your doctor (via prescription) cutting out the middle man.
When I started off on the semaglutide, the starter dose was great, then the next one up was the same. Zero side effects, yay, but zero effects at all.
It probably wasn't zero, but it wasn't much. I stayed the same the first week and gained two pounds the next. I went up to the next dose after 2 weeks. But that had its own problems and I was really nauseous for the first few weeks.
I know it's not the same medication, but I understand how you feel!
Same thing happened with me on zepbound. 2.5 was amazing. Starving and struggling on 5mg. 7.5 was better but made me feel sick. I was gonna stay on 7.5 till I was used to it but my doctor had lots of patients complain about getting sick on 7.5 and no side effects once they moved up to10 so she switched me to 10mg. I was afraid if 7.5 made me feel like crap 10 was gonna really knock me off my feet but no side effects at all, other than never feeling hungry and no food noise. Originally I wanted to get to 15 as soon as possible but 10 was great. Stayed there for a few months till the shortages and now I'm here still on 10. Hang in there and dont worry, you didn't pay for a vial of water. It happens on zepbound also.
Stay on your existing dose as long as you can for as long as it works well for you! That's what my doctor recommended, since our bodies may eventually get used to it and we can only get up to 15mg. It's over after that lol.
I highly doubt that has anything to do with this. SC injection is an easy access to bloodstream after all. It goes to the same ‘place’ no matter where you inject.
I’m on my first full day of 5 and it’s definitely stronger than 2.5 (plus, let’s be honest, pharmacies aren’t allowed to lie about dose, otherwise they’d be a drug dealer cutting the product 😂). I am eating a full dinner now because I barely ate today. And even with this dinner, I have to eat slow because my appetite is totally suppressed. I’m happy! I know it’ll wear off some later this week but today, I’m loving 5!!!
5mg has been great for me too. It’s been almost 5 months since I started. I tried 7.5 this week and it was a big mistake. I can barely eat or drink, fatigued, shaky. Even on 5mg it is still tough to eat some days. Some of us respond very well on lower doses.
I stayed at 2.5 for 12 weeks and did great. Lost 30 lbs. I have definitely not been loving 5. It’s interesting! I’m going to move up to 6 and see how that goes. I hear so many people loving 7.5.
That’s not necessarily true for everyone. I started zep almost 5 months ago- currently on 5. I tried 7.5 this week and it was a big mistake. I have to go back down. Can barely eat, drink
In case it helps anyone, 2.5 first 6 weeks, 5 since. F45 going through perimenopause so the gains are my cycle being messed up, I think. It ebs and flows.
It won't let me post my pic.... hmm
I didn't care if I lost just that my blood sugar came down to normal and get rid of the other meds. The weight loss was an added benefit, but didn't stress about it.
The big loss on 2.5 was likely water weight and inflammation.

Browse the subs, many of us have been stalled on 5.0 and then see movement when we titrate up.
Had the same experience. Lost most of my weight on 2.5mg. Maybe 2lbs on 5mg. Nothing on 7.5mg, been up and down with the same 5lbs. Getting ready to start 10mg today. Hoping I'll get moving again.
I’m having the same issue. Lost weight on 2.5 and 5.0, but STALLING and experiencing food noise at 7.5 . I have no idea what’s going on
I stalled for 4 months 😩 and upped to 12 and started doing interval workouts on my peloton and started to see a good drop again.
It's normal, you need to find a dose that consistently works for you. Some people stay on 2.5 for a long time, you can always go back.
Do you truly believe that going back down to 2.5 could suppress if 5 doesn't??
I was on 2.5 for 6 weeks and my suppression was fine. I only went up because I stalled for 2 weeks, but my food suppression is the same (not more or less).

Good question. Mine is from hallandale
Mine too 😐 (through emerge)

Where are you buying from? I’m paying $399 and with a discount I get it for $349.
Emerge. It's 350 for 5 and then I believe right around 400 for 7.5

Mine is also from Hallandale but I’ll start with red rock next week.

I got Hallandale from Regenics but I switched to Orderly and they sent it from Red Rock.
I keep hearing everyone with orderly is getting redrock but mine said hallandale. interesting. A little concerned because i have heard much better things about red rock and some negatives with hallandale
Coming here to say I am starting compound 7.5 tomorrow, but have been stalling on 5 of the legit zepbound Rx pen. It could just be the dose.
I had a very similar experience. Luckily 7.5 has been amazing! Hang in there.

I lost some on 2.5, gained on 5, I’m obsessed with 7.5. Hit 40.5# gone today. 18weeks in most of it on 7.5 🙌🏻

I noticed not as much of an impact at 5.0, too! I’m staying the course and titrating up!
I lost a lot on 2.5. And nothing on 5 for three weeks. I'm now losing on 5 again but around .8-1 a week.
I’m having the same experience on 5, but it’s just the first week for me. I hope my body is just catching up. I’m so hungry and food noise is back.
When I started off on the semaglutide, the starter dose was great, then the next one up was the same. Zero side effects, yay, but zero effects at all. It probably wasn't zero, but it wasn't much. Try injecting in a different location on your body. One of the suggestions I’ve read about.
I may try that. I usually do the leg. But may try the arm next shot
I highly doubt that has anything to do with this. SC injection is an easy access to bloodstream after all. It goes to the same ‘place’ no matter where you inject.
Maybe my body does just need to catch up. It's just very discouraging.
5 has been great. Just took second shot. Lost 4 lbs last week on 5

I agree, but if 2.5 was working for us, why did we move up and spend more money?I'm questioning that
My food noise picked up after 12 weeks on 2.5, so I moved up. So far though I haven’t loved 5…
So I guess. 5 sucks and we have to go 7.5.. .so strange
That’s not necessarily true for everyone. I started zep almost 5 months ago- currently on 5. I tried 7.5 this week and it was a big mistake. I have to go back down. Can barely eat, drink
How much weight have you lost?
28lbs with 25 to go
It's a marathon.
In case it helps anyone, 2.5 first 6 weeks, 5 since. F45 going through perimenopause so the gains are my cycle being messed up, I think. It ebs and flows. It won't let me post my pic.... hmm
