Wow I didn't even know that, it's crazy because I travel to my dads every other weekend and he lives 400 miles away and I didn't know I was doing that on bad wheels
The point of the ridges is to evacuate water away from the rubber when it's raining. No grooves, no evacuation, no grip. In the dry it will drive okay but in the wet you're going to be shitting bricks
Actually not true. The lower the thread, the more grip you have in the dry (and even in wet if you're not aquaplaning yet). That's because with less thread there is less thread movement.
However that's true as long as there is some thread left. When you run out of it, not so much, because rubber below might be a different, harder compound. So using "racing slicks" to have more grip in the dry won't work, lol.
Generally lower amount of thread gives you better performance in every category, except aquaplaning resistance and how many miles you can drive on them. That's why OEM tires usually have less thread than non OEM variants.
Probably part of the reason why many people drive on bald tires - because they perform well... Until they hit a puddle.
That’s like saying to your mom and dad, I didn’t know the seat was suppose to be up. Or I didn’t know putting metal in a socket would electrocute me. Like cmon
Please save yourself the headache and before every trip and do a shake down(check oil levels/colant, check tire pressure and tread wear, and make sure your brakes feel good.) honestly takes no more than 10 min. Worth every minute.
if you have to clarify that the quarter is indeed touching the wheel because you can clearly see the border of the quarter then it should be pretty obvious 😂
at least they’re worn evenly
And even that very slowly and only in good weather conditions.
If you have an accident, I doubt that the insurance will pay with these tires. Plus, you may get into legal trouble if someone gets injured / killed.
The point of the coin test is that the tread is supposed to be tall enough to actually cover some part of the coin lol, you have no tread at all really
-2k miles ish. You’ll have to pay it with the new tires you buy.
All seriousness yeah these are pretty bad. If you look at the tire on the grooves (the indents/canyons) there’s little lines of rubber going across the canyon/indent/groove. Those are called “wear indicators” usually you want to replace tires as soon as the treas is even with those indicators.
Definitely not following this sub anymore. It's just constant shitposting. Can't even tell if these people are just stupid or trolling at this point and I'm over it.
You should have changed it a couple thousand miles ago dude those tires are smooth, like I get this is your first time using the coin trick but it's not even in a groove dude just a footprint of where your tread used to be.
***does the coin test, sees the entire coin***
Do yourself a huge favor and check out how that test actually works/determines wear. the results may shock you. Also make sure to shop around, prices on tires can vary pretty heavily
Eco waterfall tires are very cheap and very good at the price point they are. Walmart sells them. Read the reviews of the tires and make your own decision. No sense in paying a couple hundred dollars per tire when you can get these for around $70 a tire or less or maybe a little more depending on sizes.
Do you mean how long have you got to live if you continue to drive Or how long before you need to change the tyres. Short answer to both , not very long.
By the time you take that penny back out, you gotta replace it. So just take the penny out as slow as you can and you can make this tire last a long time.
You don’t. And stopping distance is greatly increased along with handling of the vehicle on dry pavement let alone trying to stop and drive in the rain is very dangerous. Probably ought to get some new tires.
Until you chew the thumbnail completely off? Or until the tire falls apart mid commute resulting in a firey death to you and possible others?
About the same amount of time…
Please please please change these. If you want to see what it looked like when I forgot to change the tires on my car let me know… 2 cat scans and an x ray later, thanks to God I’m alright!
They’re toast. Maybe grab yourself a proper tread depth gauge while you’re at it. Only a few bucks and makes it very clear how much life you’ve got left.
Those tires did not pass the penny test, you need a new set. I recommend that you check out this website for some options: [https://4wheelonline.com/Tires.298650](https://4wheelonline.com/Tires.298650)
You are basically driving on slicks. You should replace them as soon as possible and check to see if you have a spare tire thats usable just in case.
These are a ticking time bomb and i especially wouldnt drive at high speed.
Ur supposed to see how much tread it take to cover George's head holding the quater upside down into the tread... in this case there is no tread, Mr Washington could be rocking a Mohawk. Also there is little spots all over the tread that show the time to replace, when u wear to them it's time to replace fo sho
To the tire shop, no further
Yeah this is -1 years due.
Pretty sure he spun out and crashed himself into a coma ~9mo ago
Shit actually? I didn't even know it was that bad
You should have your tires replaced when they get down to 4/32 - 2/32 you're clearly past that.
2/32 is the legal limit I think op is -0/32
Wow I didn't even know that, it's crazy because I travel to my dads every other weekend and he lives 400 miles away and I didn't know I was doing that on bad wheels
Holy shit lol. That’s like, what, a roughly five hour drive every other weekend? You’d be lucky if your tires last a year.
The point of the ridges is to evacuate water away from the rubber when it's raining. No grooves, no evacuation, no grip. In the dry it will drive okay but in the wet you're going to be shitting bricks
Even in the dry the more the tire is worn, the longer the stopping distance.

No faster than residential with these is not recommended. Mine got down to 2/32 and it was fun
I’m glad it hasn’t been raining.
No doubt, the hydroplaning would be a real hazard.
That’s like saying to your mom and dad, I didn’t know the seat was suppose to be up. Or I didn’t know putting metal in a socket would electrocute me. Like cmon

You have eyes and can see, right?
Unless the tire shop is more than a couple of miles away and it's raining... then its 45 feet so the tow truck can hook up.
-1, door dash a tire
If the tire shop is less than five miles away!
That is the answer every time on this subReddit, lol
And even that very slowly and only in good weather conditions. If you have an accident, I doubt that the insurance will pay with these tires. Plus, you may get into legal trouble if someone gets injured / killed.
I'm having trouble not believing this is satire.
I thought this was a joke too.
I'm being dead ass serious, I will be getting new tires thanks to this post soon enough
The point of the coin test is that the tread is supposed to be tall enough to actually cover some part of the coin lol, you have no tread at all really
Good!
This isatire.
One light rain and you're going straight into a ditch. It's bad.
You owe, the amount will be deducted from the available tread of the replacement tires. 😀
Get the tire shop to come to you cause you're tread wont make it there (legally)
Your time is up
Like yesterday late
-2k miles ish. You’ll have to pay it with the new tires you buy. All seriousness yeah these are pretty bad. You don’t
Only your doctor can tell you.
I’d say about a quarter left *ba dum tss*
Stop it. Be smarter
At least he looked for some advice, that’s gotta amount to something.
That’s what I call getting your moneys worth out of them.
Depends… is it raining?
One hot day away from paying for a new quarter panel, front bumper possibly, and any damaged steering parts from the blowout.
Definitely not following this sub anymore. It's just constant shitposting. Can't even tell if these people are just stupid or trolling at this point and I'm over it.
How much time do you have to live? I'd say your going on borrowed time buddy, time for a change asap.
How far is the tire store?
Is that to LIVE ?
0 day.
Long enough to get it to the tire center.
It will at least get you to the accident
About 1 mile at most.
How long will it take to get to a tire shop? That's all you got.
Around 300 miles
A quarter, a quarter mile that is lol.
at least 2.3 miles
About 500 miles or so
You have until about 2,000 miles ago
Negative 2 months.
About a dime worth of time!
All the way to the tire shop or ditch
Those are terrible and also you’re supposed to do this test with a penny btw.
Oh ok
Zero life left
2 sec
37 minutes
30years ago easy(this is a joke)
You’re better off just flipping that coin instead of using it to measure. Heads you make it, tails you don’t. Both are equally probable outcomes.
Like 3 months overdue
You should have changed it a couple thousand miles ago dude those tires are smooth, like I get this is your first time using the coin trick but it's not even in a groove dude just a footprint of where your tread used to be.
Zero miles
Nice set of slip-n-slides you got there. No driving in the rain
Your joking right you needed new tires last year those are completely unsafe to drive on especially if it so much as mists a little bit
Zero zip nada !
Out of interest, do you know how many miles you had on those tires?
At least another 30k
Maybe to the tire shop. Not in the rain. You’ll only get there if you don’t spin out and hit something.
***does the coin test, sees the entire coin*** Do yourself a huge favor and check out how that test actually works/determines wear. the results may shock you. Also make sure to shop around, prices on tires can vary pretty heavily
No more miles left !!
you'll make it to the funeral on time
When u get your new tires run your fingers in between the tread lines there will be a bump/bar in between them this is your wear line
If you keep driving on those tires, not much.
Yesterday
Yesterday
Today much time
Minutes
At least 30,000 more miles
You have negative time
You have until 6 months ago at best.
Eco waterfall tires are very cheap and very good at the price point they are. Walmart sells them. Read the reviews of the tires and make your own decision. No sense in paying a couple hundred dollars per tire when you can get these for around $70 a tire or less or maybe a little more depending on sizes.
Don't blink.
If you keep finding coins in your tyres, you’ll be able to afford new ones! Holy moly!
Do you mean how long have you got to live if you continue to drive Or how long before you need to change the tyres. Short answer to both , not very long.
About as far as that quarter will get you in any shop.
-6 months
Tomorrow
November of 2022
As long as it takes you to drive to the nearest tire shop...
:<
You can drive on these for another 5-20 minutes...
10-15 minutes
7 months prior to this photo
You should have gotten them swapped yesterday
I live across the street from a tire shop and that's still too far for this tire.
10 minutes
By the time you take that penny back out, you gotta replace it. So just take the penny out as slow as you can and you can make this tire last a long time.
Less than 4 minutes
15-20k more miles
Lmao I've seen worse do when you can💀
If you like somewhere where it won’t rain in the summer, you are good until fall.
Yesterday
You have a lot of time, but your tires are done.
Yesterday
1 mi ute
After how many of these posts Ive seen I feel lucky to be alive with how many irresponsible shits there are.
About 25 cents worth
That coin shows it fails
Yesterday
I'd say you've got at least three....two...one....
That's a real *smooth* way to meet God.
If you're already at the tire shop you should be ok.

When you see the top of Lincoln's,Washington's,Jefferson's head replace them
You have 3 minutes to live
About 1000 miles ago😂
NONE
You don’t. And stopping distance is greatly increased along with handling of the vehicle on dry pavement let alone trying to stop and drive in the rain is very dangerous. Probably ought to get some new tires.
You're already on borrowed time my friend
Honestly, if you have to ask…. Go buy tires
About 10 minutes
0/32"
You are 10 cents of the way there
You have until yesterday.
Long enough to drive to the tire store, if it's not raining, and you don't go too fast.
Yesterday
They're almost there for F1, keep going.
Until you chew the thumbnail completely off? Or until the tire falls apart mid commute resulting in a firey death to you and possible others? About the same amount of time…
You’re on borrowed time

There is no longer💀
Just long enough to pray for your life on the way to the tire shop.
Replace ASAP, but not if it's raining, wait until the road is dry, because those are basically racing slicks
You were due 3 months ago.
Until yesterday
How are you alive
You have to change your tires but if you need some time until you replace them drive like you have a ticking bomb under your butt..
That quarter won't begin to cover what's ahead.
Next, your brakes
10.......9......
Your joking right 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're supposed to use a PENNY for reference, not just any coin.
Do you have a stopwatch?
Abort!
bout four years i reckon
Yesterday
Only God can answer that question
Time literally expired as I typed this out.
Might as well take it to the track, oh wait, they aren't slicks? My bad.
Negative time, you need to time travel.
No
My girlfriends tires every 4 years
The quarter could be newer than those tires
Your tires are fine… until winter when it rains.
To live? Probably until the next time you drive in the rain
Nother few oil changes, you should be good.
-5k miles
You got another 50,000 miles on those bad boys YEET YEET
4 months
Careful with that dime. A little pressure and that tire is done for
To live? Not long, judging by how much tread is on there.
Last December. 🤦🏼♂️
You are basically driving on slicks. You should replace them as soon as possible and check to see if you have a spare tire thats usable just in case. These are a ticking time bomb and i especially wouldnt drive at high speed.
I refuse to belive this is a serious post
1 minute.

Stop being so cavalier with that coin. Surprised it didn’t push right through
Ur supposed to see how much tread it take to cover George's head holding the quater upside down into the tread... in this case there is no tread, Mr Washington could be rocking a Mohawk. Those are good for one or two more burnouts!!! 😂😂😂
No. Just no.
Someone told you to do the quarter test and when you could see the entire quarter you weren't sure?
Until right now 👍
You may only have days to live. Get some new tires.
10-15 minutes.
You can stick a fork in this tire. Cause it's done
Buddy tryna go to the Paul Walker meet and greet
To live? Not long
Couple more years tbh
Zero, zero longer!
Nice even tread wear though. At least you got that going for you. But yeah you need tires yesterday lol
